Haircut: Mauro looked like an extreme Rock n Roll Musician dude from back in the day gettin a trim!! Love it! Then he turned into a 40's sleek man about town, quite the doo! And the expert irrigation worker is doing a wonderful job as normal. She is amazing! Love this family! And the baby is adorable !! ❤
We had a fish pond in Ecuador and we used to use a big piece of netting between two of us to sweep from one side to the other, that way all the fish ended up in the net or at least in a smaller part of the pool!
Dear Harriet and Mauro, I so love your channel and way of being ❤ Just lovely! If you have any spare time, I'd recommend getting familiar with Syntropic Agriculture as their motto is "rain can be planted". A very interesting approach for future draughts and avoiding them! A big hug from south of Catalonia ❤
Felicidades!!!
What an amazing project. Congratulations! By the way, I have serious Rheumatoid Arthritis and I use the tool that you just bought for tightening the pipes, to open the lids of mason jars and other bottles. I see Santi discovered his toes.
Now you are ready for a drip irrigation system in your garden! You will cut your watering usage to 1/3 of what you are using now. :) You need a pressure reducer in your drip irrigation line now. From the totes on the hill you are way over pressure. The brand name you will find is Senninger and 20 or 25 PSI is the maximum pressure for that type of drip irrigation. You may need several depending on how many drip lines you are have.
Success is no drips! I wish your land now gets a good, soft soaking rain for a few days per week for a month. The land, wildlife desperately needs it. This IBC tanks are certainly worth every Euro when things like this happen. Congratulations. 🙌
Felicitaciones!!!. Espero que la sequía termine, es muy penoso ver cómo cambia el paisaje y no solo me refiero a uds. acá en Chile es igual y me imagino que en muchos países es lo mismo. Ánimo para tod@s 🌱🇨🇱💚
Hi couple! I enjoy your advances against the dry in the country side. Keep water in the IBCS. It's a pity that storms don't wet yours area. Good luck. Kisses. Amaia from Bizkaia
Maybe it was the editing, or maybe the lovely feeling, but I think this was my favourite episode yet. Good luck with the plumbing, and all the learning you are getting.
You had so much rain in the past I was enviable in Los Angeles, likely you will get much in the future and may enjoy also working on drainage, etc. growing up Spanish was not that common but now I learn so quickly and your program helps with all communications. Best of luck
Guys You need walkie-talkies to comunicate with each other while being on the opposite sides managing pipes and valves, would save a lot of going back and forth.
At 13:20 where you are working to fix the leaky valve. You want to scrub all of the surfaces clean of dirt and debris (everything) so that you get a good compression fit. A leak of that sort is a result of some type of dirt trapped between mating parts and the rubber gasket. You can't fix it until you clean away all of the possible contaminants. A scrub brush and some soapy water will work just fine. The same holds true for anytime you are reusing old pipe or fittings. For pipe - clean it thoroughly at the joint. For fittings, take them completely apart, scrub them in soapy water (especially the valve ball and the sealing gaskets and rinse in clean water. Then inspect all components for damage as you reassemble. With drip irrigation, nothing is more frustrating than clogged emitters. Best practice is to install a filter just ahead of your water supply to the drip irrigation lines. 120 mesh if you opt for stainless steel screen (least expensive, recycled by cleaning indefinitely) is what you need. Filters are not very expensive. One housing is often used for mesh and cartridge filters. Just look closely at the arrow (direction of flow) and it will identify the direction for the filter you have chosen. At the top of the hill (just below the containers on the main line, I would suggest an 80 mesh screen to remove the big particles in your entire system.. The steel wrench is called a "channel lock" in English. The rubber strap wrench is simple a "strap wrench". I would suggest using the channel lock on your faceted fittings and the strap wrench on your round pipe or any round or slippery surface where you are having trouble getting a grip. You will find silicone grease with swimming pool supplies. You will need a sand or diatomaceous earth filter for you pool. I would suggest a sand filter. Also, some sort of chlorine metering device. I use 3" round chlorine tablets and meter a little chlorine all of the time to prevent algae. For a pool that size you will need a filter that can maintain 30,000 gallons ( 114,000 liters) guesstimating, You can measure it and get a more precise capacity. Go oversize with your filter, not undersize.
@@LittleSpanishFarmstead My pleasure! Swimming pool plumbers use it all the time. That's the only trade I have seen use the stuff. It works. Just don't drop the fitting in the dirt because the silicone grease picks up everything it touches.
when I was younger, we were fortunate to have an in-ground pool with a filtration system and all. opening the filter components to wash them out was an absolute nightmare, but that strap tool for extra grip (we called that a vice grip) was the best addition to loosening the fittings. el pico de loro looks like really big plumbers pliers or similar. definitely agree that those are best friends of a tightener :)
It amazes me you are still having such a severe drought. We leave to walk the Portuguese Camino in 2 days, and it has been non-stop rain for 2+ months in Portugal and Galicia!! Need to send some East to y’all!! 💦
Hi guys, great video again ! Check at your hardware store, I believe there are ciments or epoxies you could use to fix that cracked spout on your IBC tank. Could be easier and cheaper. Cheers from Quebec !
loved your hyper upbeat enthusiast energy with a bit of humour in this video, water system looks great, can't wait to see your natural swimming pool take shape ☺
Santi is going to grown in the middle of nature. The best thing for a baby. Im here since day 1in the channel and im so happy tosee the development of your home and garden
Oh you definitely need teflon tape on plastic stuff, I deal with these every year with our small pool that has a lot of connection points due to the filtration and the solar panel and let me tell you, these leak with the teflon tape and leak extremely without the tape 😂. I don't think I've ever put all this stuff together and it has not leaked absolutely everywhere it can and even in places you would not expect. You did a great job with these considering that.
Congrats on your new achievement! I love this video from first shot with Harrriet face 😊 this kind of lifestyle must be exhausting but it looks like a dream!
OMG Harriet and Mauro, this has to be one of your best videos yet. So good to see you thriving after the year you had. Santi is looking so healthy and cute. He has a lovely mix of both of his parents best features. Too funny, Mauro saying wibbley wobbley, or whatever he said about the water. AND THE WATER PRESSURE!!! Living the dream.🤣 I've just about finished my first solo woodworking project - built a small box shelf for a file in my kitchen - out of reclaimed bed slats someone in my building was throwing out. Only handsaws for me at this stage. I have thought of you Harriet, doing this. You inspired me to get cracking with more of my own DIY projects. I'm a little less creative and a bit more 'planning/drawing it out' than you though.🤣 Love from the bottom of the World, where like you guys we haven't had rain for months. It's so weird. Autumn. Normally we would have had rain for the last six week, but nothing! And that is after one of our driest, hottest Summers on record.
Aww thank you!! Hehe I’m glad I inspired you to do a little DIY, maybe the bug will bite you and you’ll be making your own cabinets or something next! 💕
@@LittleSpanishFarmstead OMG I've been doing a lot of dreaming about cabinet making... but no, nah, DEFINITELY NOT🤣at this stage. It's taken me three weeks to make a small box shelf! Oh, and saw out some side panels of a display cabinet I'm jazzing up a bit!
I'm a plumber's wife but wouldn't dare to do what you do. You are a 'maquina" as they say in Spanish 😅....btw he uses teflon with plastic and canyamo with copper. Great job! 💪👏
So glad you two team tagging were able to have water and stop the proverbial leaks, have a good time cleaning your pond, it will give you much pleasure in the heat of summer; Santiago is growing and is so cute. Be well, safe and much love to all ❤🎉

Hi. Instead of silicon grease you can use Vaseline also.
It was wonderful to see those thirsty trees getting a drink of water -- I hope they're fruitful! May your swimming pool project go smoothly.
