Steve took the words right out of my mouth: watching Barca last night was like watching Spain in Euros. They were possession focused but also very direct. If that's Hansi Flick's Barca, they're going to be something. As for City, it was nice to see the academy keeps producing really good players once again.

His excellence last season was a result of the overall league quality as opposed to his own. We saw how average he was in the Euros. Camavinga has a good engine and is a great fighter but other than that, another player who imo was overrated. And I’m a France supporter.
People use the term World Class too loosely sometimes. Truth is if Barcelona truly want to compete with RM, they need a fit RL at CF for the entire season along with Gundo, Pedri and Gavi. Sure Nico will increase attack potency however Barcelona’s strength has always been their Midfield supply.

It’s preseason. These results don’t matter. It’s a combination of academy players, fringe players, players about to get sold/loaned, starters getting their fitness back, massive amounts of substitutions, and players playing with other players they aren’t accustomed to. People are reading far too much into these results.
Please research the number of followers these clubs have on social media and let me know which ones you think would be the best to discuss their games.

Both teams had most of the positions filled by youngsters. The fact citys youngsters did dominate possession and gave barcas players problems shows how far their academy has come as Barca are the gold standard of academies in Spain and city matched them pound for pound. But I will say Barca were lucky, Haalands goal went clearly over the line and Barcas second goal was offside but its a friendly so its not too important.

Actually specify what you are talking about. City was fined for starting games and kickoffs late. Just like quite a few teams at the Copa America were fined for similar infractions. It’s all about TV coverage and networks want the matches running to the second on time.
