    How does the Duke 390 compare to its own sibling - the all new Duke 250? And will it leave all of its competitors, especially the Dominar 400 far behind? Watch my review video to find out.

      The Savant Life. Nice video bud. Lucky you got a chance to ride it. I was told from the same showroom that I would get a test ride at the end if the month. Any chances if getting a little discount throught your referral though?

    Hey, Before I start sayin somefin ill jus give my little intro, I am a biker from City Called Vancouver on the West Coast of Canada. I dont have a youtube channel so that means I dont make vlogs. I own a KTM Super Duke R (2016), Which is my second bike after MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 2013. I was born in India State called Punjab. My father immigrated to Canada in 1999 when I was 9. I follow some Bike Vloggers from Canada, US & UK. I am watching quite a videos from Indian vloggers from past few weeks because I am planning a trip to Leh Ladhak in the Himalayas. My point is after going through couple a youtubers I want to appreciate your channel the way you speak in those vlogs and demonstrate everyday life in india to people who are sitting outside like me n giv'em a glimpse of ur life through the lens. Hope ur channel will grow everyday. Loads more to come right? Am I the first North American Subscriber lol. Cheers Mate! liked, subscribed, commented. :)

      It's great to get feedback from the other part of the world. I have maybe a handful of North American subscribers but I think you're the first one to write in with such detail. Thanks for your wishes - I sure hope to grow the channel and get more subscribers from all over the world. Lastly, good luck with the Leh-Ladakh trip - pretty sure it's going to be awesome :)

    It's hard for me to focus on the bike itself, as I'm watching the insane traffic and lane-splitting you have to do to just ride through the city. I don't mean that in a negative way, I'm seriously impressed. I can see why having nimble bike would be so important there. I'm in the United States and I'm looking at "downsizing" from my BMW G650GS to a Duke 390 hopefully this spring...great video, thanks!

    Traffic there looks like a whole different level than I'm used to (in Utah, USA). Looks like cars regularly tried to pinch you against curbs. Thank you for the greatly detailed review. I'm considering this bike, and your review is the most useful so far.

    Very nice video! I've seen a lot of reviews, a lot of comments about the failures, the cons, the bad things, that makes me rethink about getting this bike. BUT THEN COMES THIS VIDEO! And my heart beat hard again! And i"ll be buying this bike at the end of the year! Thanks and greetings from Mexico

    To be honest,it was a first hand riding experience for the viewers too.This should be treated as the perfect example of a motor vehicle review unlike other videos where they detail things standing by its side.You are showing us the throttle response,how easy it is to cut the traffic like the maneuvering capability,how hard your ass hits when you go through bumps, engine heating,how efficient is the braking when a cow tries to stop you.To top it all you have a good accent I must say that is letting every viewer understand your intentions.You did a risky job explaining while driving and that too through that sick traffic and cow wandering streets.Bravo man...keep up the great work..This is the best review video I have seen after powerdrifts MV Augusta one.
    Be safe and ride safe.All the best and off course I have subscribed

    • @TheSavantLife
      @TheSavantLife  7 лет назад

      Thanks for such detailed and positive feedback. My intention is to give the viewers an immersive feel so that they feel like they're riding the bike themselves. And I love to test ride the bike in real city traffic because that's where most of us would be using the bike. That MV Augusta video was sick and being right below it is tall praise 😉

    Just 😎 I mean your videos are just 👏. Man you really have that quality to magnify the effective areas of the bike, and honestly ur English is just perfect. The way u illustrate and the way you teach little things about bike is also good. I have been to a lot of videos for Ktm but your videos kinda satisfy me all the time. Honestly it's like iam riding wid u in ur videos just twisting along wid around curves😂😂. Bro I am a delhite and I never owned a ktm ... it's just that I am confused 🤷‍♀️ which one to buy ....the duke 200 or duke 250. Can u plz suggest me which one to buy , currently I have a passion 🤣

      @TheSavantLife  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks man - loved the great feedback. You hit all of the points that I keep in mind when I'm making these videos. As for which KTM might be best suited to you - I'd say go with the Duke250 if this is your first bike. It's a really great offering from KTM, especially for those who have never owned a baby Duke before. Watch my Duke 250 video if you haven't already as it might help in making up your mind.

    I NEED A BIKE FOR DAILY USE.. CONFUSED BETWEEN DUKE 390 AND RE CONTINENTAL GT .. PLEASE SUGGEST ( by budget is 2 - 2.5 lk ) ?

    • @TheSavantLife
      @TheSavantLife  7 лет назад

      Ha ha - I had the same confusion too. Both are very different bikes, while the Duke390 is an incredibly modern bike, the Conti GT has those vintage looks. This is a tough choice and one that you'll have to make :)

    • @saurabhrana1270
      @saurabhrana1270 7 лет назад +4

      I think the Duke 390 would offer a more comfortable riding position as it is slightly more upright whereas GT is a bit more stooped down which might get a bit uncomfortable.

    • @soorajak3658

    • @vinitsathe
      @vinitsathe 7 лет назад +2

      Dhiraj Kothari i have a gt ,for city use i think duke is better but 390 is not for city
      CGT is not that uncomfortable as it look with rear set footpegs ,and on gt you get that classic feel with vinatge look just crusing around the sweet sound of engine.
      Ktm is more of zipping through the traffic and going on highspeed runs

    • @ashven3214

      Dhiraj Kothari ur comparing 2 different genres just bcoz of the price.. Depends on how u ride and what u want.

    I'm buying this as soon as I get paid. Which showroom did you ride this bike from? What kind of helmet would you recommend.....something that allows you to take advantage of the bluetooth phone pairing. I saw a biker with bluetooth on the helmet and don't know if that is legal/available in Bangalore.

    • @TheSavantLife
      @TheSavantLife  7 лет назад

      It's a great bike. I wouldn't know about the legalities of the bluetooth pairing in the helmet. There are some LS2 helmets that offer you that option. Plus you also have to wonder about the viability of the screen and if someone is going to whack that if you park it outside.

    As someone who recently got into biking and subscribes to a lot of indian motovloggers, here are my opinions (please don't take them in the wrong way): fake accent or not, you definitely benefit from a better grasp of the english language than most which means your videos are easier to understand and your metaphors are as whacky as they come ;) the only thing that has always held me back from subscribing is your riding style; you grab the clutch way too much like nearly zero throttle modulation and when you shift you take so long the revs drop too low by the time you disengage the clutch and you're in the next gear. This makes it very difficult to take you seriously since at the end of the day this is a channel on bikes and it's not just that you have a different riding style or some nonsense like that it's just wrong. I am sorry if it sounds rude but if you look past the apparent tone trust me you will unlock a whole new level in terms of riding by just spending 2 weeks practicing the correct riding techniques. Cheers and goodluck!

    • @TheSavantLife
      @TheSavantLife  7 лет назад +12

      Firstly - thank you for writing so sensibly - many people just rant and rave. So, here's my side on this - I was brought up at a time when you just couldn't do the quick shifting with bikes - you had to shift conservatively to preserve you clutch plates and to ensure the sanity of the bike. So it's a style that is conditioned in me - I can do the quick shifts if needed but I choose not to most of the time.
      I think quick shifts are ideal for the race track or in countries with broad, wide roads where people follow lane discipline. In India, riding like that on an explosive bike (like a KTM) means if anyone shifts lanes, or a pedestrian jumps the divider to cross at the wrong moment or someone comes charging at you in the wrong way - you are a GONER.
      There is a reason you see so many KTMs crash and burn in India - our roads and traffic etiquette isn't ideal for that style. Having said that, I can definitely shift a lot quicker, which I shall do especially when I'm making review videos.
      Cheers!

      The Savant Life bro forget clutch, you're also putting stress on the sprocket and chain by accelerating like that lol

    • @bharathelangovel2260
      @bharathelangovel2260 6 лет назад +3

      The Savant Life I'm not so sure if that style actually "conserves" the clutch. By repeatedly disengaging and engaging the clutch, you're wearing out the throught bearing and spring. Also, this abrupt engagement and transfer of torque actually consumes the clutch a lot more than just being conservative with the throttle.

      Ha ha - true that. I usually ignore but every once in a while I'll respond especially if I think it's someone half sensible who might understand. And yes - it's been a good ride with the FZ but it's time to look at other options now. The only problem is I don't have safe parking at the place I stay right now.

    Great Video and your story telling is awesome, I was feeling the exuberance that you felt which was perfectly translated and captured into video. But one creative criticism ,for the indoor commentary that you did later, audio could have been better, invest in good microphone, that will up your audio game

    Great video man!! Really loved it. This is the one bike i ve been most awaiting. I am a short rider, and i know u mentioned the height factor but how much taller is it compared to the old 200 and would softening the suspension help? And is the myth abt being able to lower the bike by 1 inch and not affecting performance true?

    • @TheSavantLife
      @TheSavantLife  7 лет назад

      Shorter riders might find it a little difficult unless they are really experienced with bikes. I haven't ever altered the suspension so I wouldn't really be able to comment on how much that would help or if it would affect the performance of the bike.

      If your daily commute is less than 35 kms - yes
      A lot of bikes are going to be small for you but this one should be ok as it has an elevated seat
      You can start off with something smaller like a Duke200 or 250 but you can go with this too, especially if you like it

    I have seen many video and i can assure you that your video is right at the top with select few. I still want to ask you that does the bike has vibes and do you feel the vibes at the handle bar. Is it refind enough.

    • @TheSavantLife
      @TheSavantLife  7 лет назад

      Thanks a bunch man - as for the refinement, a KTM won't really be as refined as a Yamaha or a Honda but that is what makes it so much fun to ride. I didn't find the vibrations on the handlebar to be significant but also I rode the bike only for about 20 minutes.

      The Duke390 is a ridiculously good bike - if you've got the budget go for it.
