Please meet Minato Miyake and Dan Kozome who joined the Evolutionary Neurobiology Unit and the Protein Engineering and Evolution Unit respectively while they were undergraduate students. After completing the program, they joined OIST as PhD students. How did they apply the Research Internship Program? What kind of research activities can you do as a research intern student? Hi, I would like to ask for information about the process of applying to a undergraduate research internship for an Computer Engineering undergraduate student from abroad (Chile). Specifically, about aceptance rates, and desired experience of postulants. My area of interest is AI, and it's intersection with fields such as Robotics and Neuroscience, so I was thinking of applying to Prof. Doya's lab. Thanks in advance for your answer!

Hi, may I ask if the seminars and lectures at OIST are conducted primarily in English or are they conducted in Japanese? Also, which of the languages do the PhD students converse in?
OIST's common language is English, therefore you do not learn Japanese before coming to OIST. All the education, research as well as everyday communication are in English. For more details, please check www.oist.jp/facts-figures

I had earlier applied for an internship but it was rejected. I would like to ask the selection criteria. Which of the following is considered for selection?
Previous working projects or any other thing...?
Why you got rejected? Document issue ?
Should we get in touch with the professor we desired to work or directly apply via application platform?
As per my knowledge we should apply in their website by filling required details and should have at least 3 staff reference from your current college and should apply before long back like if your going for 2025 Jan and Feb you should have applied by April 2024, and acceptance is difficult I guess I tried but my staff would have not let me do it so dropped the opportunity 😶😶
