Installing Cabin Filter on 2002 Dodge Caravan Sport

Have a moldy smell from AC so I sprayed down the air intake with Lysol and here I am installing a cabin filter on a 2002 Dodge Caravan Sport.
July 2 update: The problem is much better. I still spray it down every few weeks but the mold smell is gone.
Note: while the smell is totally gone, i removed the filter and have no plans to re-install one. I have a reason to believe that the filter interfered with the power windows and ac operating correctly. Sounds strange, but the windows and ac would stop working at times when driving and I'd have to restart the van to get them to work again. This never happen prior to installing the filter and never happen after removing the filter. The van is 16 years old, I've owned it for 12, and it's the best vehicle ever. Only things that ever needed to be replaced was a battery, brakes, blower resistor, and muffler.

Excelent record you didn't say about your experience but when you use spray at windshield wiper cabin I say wow always is an issue to don't know where is every one doing.

What did the old one look like.
There wasn't one in there for as long as I had it. Not sure if you read the updates in the description box, but I never had that mold smell issue living up north. When we moved to Florida was when the mold issue started. The filter seemed to help but then I started having issues with the power windows. Don't know if the 2 were connected, but I removed the filter and never had an issue with the windows again. Living in SC now so no mold issues. Vehicle is 21 years old.
@@stevekonbass thanks for the reply. We just got my mother n laws 2002 caravan and it was a little cat pea smelly and need to change it. Googled how to and your video was the first one. As for the electric windows, it has just dawned on me that the passenger side does have issues. When I change it I'll leave it out and see if it works again. I'll let you know. my 2005 taown country does not have cabin filter too...and what we gonna do?
It sucks. My 2003 Dodge Caravan doesn't have one and neither does my parent's 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan.

My 2005, only if it comes with auto climate control. Use the lysol spray method at least it helps! On hot days open all and blast out hot air before sitting, less breathing in of fumes from overheated vinyl, carpet treatment, etc.
Why do some have a filter and some do not?
I couldn't tell you. I didn't have a filter in mine for the past 13 years. After moving to FL I thought I'd put one in because of all the stuff in the air down here. I eventually took it out.
My 05 Dodge Grand Caravan doesn't have one. I turned on my ac and heater (cus I live in Texas🙄) and it smells like vinegar😩 I need help lol smh.
