This was exactly what I was looking for...adding the pasta in with the sauce. Perfect! Put it together in the morning.,set on low go about your day, come home add pasta, 30 minutes later, tea is ready!
In the state of Massachusetts in the US, the English colonists named two towns after the same English city, but spelled one with the traditional spelling and the other with the phonetic spelling; thus, Massachusetts has both a Worcester and a Wooster, which are pronounced the same. Tack on a -shire at the end, and you get the three-syllable pronunciation (Woos-ter-sher) of the English county Worcestershire after which the sauce is famously named. One should note that New Englanders tend to drop their R’s (for example, they pronounce chowder as chow-duh), so New Englanders say Woos-tuh-shuh whereas other Americans say Woos-ter-sher. Thanks for the great recipe! I am eager to try it out!
Spag bol was my favourite meal my mum made when I was wee. One day my mum became vegetarian but never forced it on us kids. Years later I grew up and moved out. Then one day as a fully grown man I was invited to my mums for my favourite meal. SPAG BOL. It was weird AF and tasted minging and I didnt have the heart to tell her. Turns out she fed me quorn spag bol thnking I wouldnt notice it wasnt beef mince. It explained everything. Haven't spoken to her since.
After a stressful job application, seeing you cook one of my favourite meals is a brilliant way to end the day. Currently my Bolognese recipe produces about 9+ portions 😋🙈
I’ve just recently bought a crock pot & seeing this all in one recipe, I can’t wait to try it. Yours looked absolutely appetising. Thank you for sharing & I’ve just subscribed & look forward to watching all your back videos.
I don't think I have ever seen an easier recipe. I have my favorite spaghetti bolognese recipe that I always use, but it never comes out as gloriously thick as this one. And my recipe makes me pre cook the mince and the spaghetti till el dente. I may have to try this one very soon. Looks delicious! Thank you for sharing!!
Hi Cheryl now that I am back at work ( Charing Cross ) I will definitely make that......pop all the ingredients the slow cooker before I leave in the morning...….great idea.....take care x
Hi Cheryl . My bolognese is in my crockpot now and smells amazing ☺️ It was so easy to do and just stick the lid on it. Love your channel. Cheers from Edinburgh 🏰
I've made your scotch broth and OMG loved it! I will try this too, but I have to say, you could burn toast and I'd still listen. Love that Scottish accent. I can't wait to visit Scotland - as long as Nicola doesn't close the border to us English 🙄 Anyway, 💜 to all in Scotland xx
As a Brit living in Texas, we pronounce it woostersher sauce. It is not Shire, although that’s how it spelt, we are not Hobbits who come from the Shire.! 😂😂
@@joannahorlock3019 LOL! Well, as a Texan living in Texas, we pronounce it with the "long 'i'" vowel sound, because that's how we do it in Texas. Perhaps we are all hobbits here, and that's just fine with me, I suppose.
I've been using your recipe since buying my first slow cooker last year. Only difference is I grate the carrot and brown the beef first got the texture. Even had my wee gals cooking it with me. Give it a go with tagliatelle as well, it's phenomenal. Love from Campbeltown 🏴❤️🏴
Hi Cheryl, long time fan, first time commenter! This is a great idea and looks absolutely fantastic. I will definitely be trying this soon. Put me right in the mood for a wee spag Bol 🍝 😋 love from Glasgow Xx
I’m going to do that. We have spag bol usually once a week. I will try with 300 ml of stock just to make it a wee bit looser. Will just do the sauce though as I have to cook regular and gluten free spaghetti.
Tried this today as my first slow cooker meal I used 2 cloves of garlic carrot celery tomatoes 🍅 fresh mixed herbs chicken stock mince and mix tomato sauce
Looks lovely. One extra ingredient I would add is chopped celery. Apparently there is no garlic, oregano, mushrooms in traditional bolognese, but the Anglo/American take on it is what I'm used to. I tried making the 'proper' recipe once (which included ground pork as well as beef) and it was very nice, but I missed the garlic having gotten so used to it! Anyway, I'll definitely be trying your recipe. Looks great.
Followed the recipe exactly except grated the carrot. I've never put cheese in it before so that will be a new cooking trick. Now cooking away overnight 🥘
We tried the Spaghetti Bolognese in slow cooker today it was wonderful we had the iPad going as we were filling the slow cooker Thanks very much fantastic meal
Mind blown! Absolutely loved this recipe. Do you think it could be prepped the night before with all the ingredients dumped into the pot and kept in the fridge? Or is it bad for the raw beef to sit in acidic tomatoes all night?
I live in Canada now (originally from York) and I confuse the hell out of Canadians and my bestie who is South African by telling them that tea is a meal and a drink. My husband is from Sunderland so he understands. This looks lovely
That looks delicious! It reminds me of a dish my Mom makes - we call it More cuz everyone wants more!! lol More has a bit of salsa in it as well to give it a wee kick!
Looks great this really helped me as iv been gifted a slow cooker and didmt know where to start lol. Oh amd pronouncing (worcestershire sauc)( war-chester-sheer) 😆
made this tonight. the hardest part was getting the ingredients…i had to substitute onion for onion powder, extra parmesan and Romano for cheddar, extra diced tomatoes and extra sauce for carrots and grape juice for wine(we can’t have alcohol) but it came out well.
Hey Cheryl!! Love your channel! Just wondering if half a 500g pack of penne pasta would work just as well? And also, how long would it take on "low"............but then I'll assume that you have to switch it to "high" when you add the pasta?!! Thank you. xxooxx
Do many people in Scotland use Italian herb 🌿 season ?we use a lot of Italian seasonings and oregano in most dishes like this . An American thing I guess , your sauces looks soooooo delightful!!!
I would love to see a video of you actually using the Quorn mince & how it turns out afterwards please? I never know how much of the Quorn mince to use, & would really appreciate your professional guidance! Thankyou x
That is a seriously high quality recipe thanks for this, dont think Ill ever bother making it any other way again, especially with the pasta included. I brown the meat and the onions first though, it just feels wrong starting from raw.
I was tempted to do this but just thought I would give it a go because if it was not as nice it was no huge loss just for one time but if it was just as nice, that's a lifetime of bolognese making just made easier with less time, faff and washing up and I'm soooo glad I took the risk, it honestly tastes just as good as when I brown the mince and onions!!!!
This was exactly what I was looking for...adding the pasta in with the sauce. Perfect!

Thank you! I didn't know you could cook pasta in the crockpot
I cannot wait to make this on the weekend. Thank you for sharing. I love your videos.
We could just call Worchestshire Sauce "Wash your sister sauce" lol. This looks super yummy and adding garlic bread is the best.
Well that's added to my vocabulary now 😂
@@Ashley-ui5ux lol
May I quote you? 😊
That's way too many syllables; for a lot of us lazy ppl in the UK, it's pronounced "Wooster", a là PG Wodehoue character 😊
@@Beruthiel45 Sure can. I didn't come up with this one all on my own, lol. I heard it somewhere and it stuck.

Lol!
Cheryl has a recipe for Quorn mince based Spagetti Bolognaise. She was enthusiastic about hers.
Thank you for this recipe. I'm making a vego version today, swapping out the meat for brown lentils. I love collecting slow cooker recipes!
For me, I'd add some more water just to loosen it all up a bit.
I've never even thought about putting everything in together! Amazing 🥰
After a stressful job application, seeing you cook one of my favourite meals is a brilliant way to end the day. Currently my Bolognese recipe produces about 9+ portions 😋🙈
Good luck!
Thanks for the tip on adding the spaghetti! Looks delicious!❤️

It’s supposed to be dreary here in North Carolina the next couple of days so I plan on making this in the crock pot! Thanks for sharing, Cheryl!
Awesome! Looks delicious. I just picked up a slow cooker for £13 from Asda today and I’m going to make this tomorrow.

I sure like the look of those OXO cubes...the bouillon cubes we have here are such tiny, fiddly things!
Tried this today as my first slow cooker meal I used 2 cloves of garlic carrot celery tomatoes 🍅 fresh mixed herbs chicken stock mince and mix tomato sauce
This recipe looks amazing and will be trying it today. For future I was wondering would this work with tagliatelle instead of spaghetti?

Wow! Looks blooming delicious 😋
Oh yum. That's looks so good. Making me so hungry. Yes I would make this.
I use Bordeaux wine when I make Bolognese but I have used Malbec.
I love your video, but could you please include a shopping list in the description?
Automatic LIKE! Now for the recipe. Thanks Cheryl.
Thanks Cheryl, that looks fab, I can imagine the smell. I actually licked the screen 😆 🤣
