solid album it is indeed, just like all their albums ^^ i really cant tell which one i like the most, they all have great songs, some flaws and great, somewhat unique, sound styles ... it hardly depends on my mood with which album i start off listening but most of the time, I end up putting their whole discography in the playlist, delete the few "lesser songs" (like "original prankster" for example) and play on shuffle/random-mode xD
A lot of people say Splinter is their worst album ever, while Smash and Ignition are the best, and it is really sad. Splinter did feature some of the best heavy songs by Offspring to date. These 2 songs are perfect examples! I'd say Splinter is just as good as their first albums. The Offspring just aren't good at selecting singles... From Americana they could have taken Staring at the Sun, Have You Ever, Americana, No Brakes but no! Why don't You Get a Job, Pretty Fly and She's Got Issues...

its a metal rod that comes out of a tall bulding so lighting wont damage the bulding, it directs the lighting to the ground usually. For a picture, just gogole the Empire State Building, the tallest point on it is a lighting rod
