Best loot run is the Tarkov Rat run. Go naked to an assist in defense bunker mission. Wait to go inside until you see the total enemies remaining at 9/10 at least. Run in search the first dead body and equip his under suit and it will put all his gear on at once. Then run back to the elevator and start clearing the bunker like normal now that you’re fully equipped with gear. Carry all the weapons and armor back to your ship and lose half of it on the elevator
I do this naked run, but I just incap the first guy I come across with middle mouse wheel button and loot the undersuit. Of course check to make sure they are alone too.
A bit late, but also a good trick is to bed log if the ship has a bed, and change server. You can loot on Daymar 4x, then go to another spot, farm 4x etc etc. Land, loot, bed log, change server, repeat.
Even as a veteran player this is also useful. Never had to worry about money but with alot of the better guns removed from shops this is still good to know
@@eltreum1 Sadly can't go there anymore unless the event runs. Otherwise you can't get onto the roof to go to the area, the elevator at Cloudview doesn't let you.

Not any more :) These boxes are shard shared now, this no longer works and is no longer worth the time. Unless you are there to buy processed food, check for crates, otherwise don't bother.
If you have something like a Max or Taurus you can loot, fill up with the booze, sell the booze at a mining outpost, pick up a ROC or whatever - do a monitor mission on the way ... make a circuit out of it; much less boring and more lucrative.
@@refisherdesktop always watch the commodities update in your journal. Very easy money for cargo capable ships. Just don't buy too much as other shops can only buy a certain amount. I ended up with a ton of med supplies and had to go to 3 or 4 places to sell it all (it trapped my truck in cargo, which can't be moved by the tractor cannon).
it takes a bit of research to figure out where to sell it, but most of the farms also sell some form of illicit substance that can be traded in low volumes for a high profit margin, however you will get fines and/or crime stats if you get scanned by the space cops with said substances in your hold.
I like the 890 Jump rescue missions around ArcCorp. You get the mission, clear out all the bad guys... then you loot their corpse, store it on the 890, go to the front of the ship, and there is usually some smaller ship stored there. Move all your loot from one ship to the other, take off, store loot at your preferred home location like a Area 18 or Arc L1. One run can bank you all the gear you need for like a week or two of playing. Then, once you have like 50K aUEC, rent some mining vehicles since its more profitable imho.

Just saying you can do bunkers with no gear at all. You run in fast to the first npc and melee him down with middle mouse wheel. You take his stuff and do the rest of the bunker :) No money spent at all. But I like this video because I think its the only way to get sniper rifles now.
Currently you can just take the air bus from Crusader showroom's rooftop to the Siege of Orison site and loot the corpses in the courtyard area where there are no enemies
i tell the people that i coach smth very similiar. I usually recommend they doa few box missions until tehy are comfortable aviating and navigating, and i also tell them to keep an eye out for loot at teh outposts
for now, if you dont have a ship with lots of cargo, leave it in the local inventory and after a character reset, it is all moved to your start location. You can loot a bunch of places and do a reset once you have a bunch saved up. EDIT: It also makes looting 30k and CTD-proof.
only problem with that strat si that character reset is going the way of the dodo. 3.18 replaces it with the Character repair tool which you can use to reset your characters location and a few other things, but it will no longer prompt you to set a new primary residence and move all your items there
If I'm short of EQ, I just do a bunker mission. I'm going in a white Beacon suit with a pistol and nothing else. 10 minutes later I'm fully armed :D Your method is good if You want to sell it later, but with current shop mechanics it's quicker to do one mission paid 50k than sell 50 items for 1000 each.
I have been visiting these locations for a while now to fill up on weapons but noticed in the last. Couple of patches on the PTU that there were hardly any red boxes and no weapons in them when they were there.

This may have been patched out in the current PTU. I did this run yesterday and none of the weapon boxes spawned at any of the locations. It just spawned medical crates. Either I was astronomically unlucky, or this has been addressed.
Well. Now that everyone knows where the loot is they can go there and get shot by other people who want the loot. You have done us all a valuable service mate.
I always tell new players take box delivery missions and search the buildings at every stop. You get paid/reputation to scavenge loot and look around at places to get used to the systems before taking on combat. I still shop but because there is a kit I always want for certain tasks and once you know how to make money time sinks for free stuff lose value. For now, there is more loot to get than you have time to collect anywhere outside a City/Station once you know where to look. Some of the box missions will let you into trespass zones without crime stat for a limited time making better loot tables in reach. Bunker missions are the go-to when you are solid at FPS for most profit for time spent especially if you run in teams. All the buildings on moons/planets can have random stuff as well as the room you summon ground vehicles in and trade. The loot crates are easy to find once you recognize them but there are random hand carry size boxes sometimes that have raw hand mining gemstones that sell well or lots of med supplies which are always good to have for free. The limited-edition Pico balls are found in the bunk beds at a couple common stops. The rule of thumb is loot under armistice zones are mostly common supplies/ammo/tools/helmets/undersuits. If there is no armistice zone weapons and armor become more common. If you are trespassing or in a combat zone you will get more rare colors, heavier armor, railguns, and the best sniper rifles. Loot value is scaled to potential danger level it's found at generally as one would expect. When Siege of Orison is not running it's always accessible and the dead NPCs and loot crates there have a lot of good free stuff being a combat zone. Just run in naked and equip the undersuit from the NPCs inventory directly. Just double click undersuit and it will auto-equip all their wearables like they had them and equip the weapon and all its attachments will auto-equip. In 2 double clicks you can be ready for action and disguised like an NPC though dressed 9-Tails vs Crusader Security may get shot at sometimes. 3.18 gives Crusader Security their own new skins for L/M/H armor and looks awesome for free 5 minutes from the hab. Just run in, take a suit, fill up with loot box stuff on the way out as fast as you can. Find a pistol in boxes while there because NPCs don't have fallback sidearms usually so you can take 3 weapons back at a time. Orison local inv is locked out in that combat zone so you can only take what you can carry but its fast free starting kit. If you have a weapon in your hand during the shuttle ride back it will knock it out of your hands and fall through the planet when you enter armistice zone and get access to Orison local inventory again so don't bother trying to get too much out each trip. If you are a fashion fan the non-combat armor NPCs can be looted for clothing variants you can't buy in stores.
Can't comment on your most recent video of the carrack run, but I've already enjoyed your content thoroughly. It's a very smooth ride to stay engaged in.

If you can... go to the drug labs, like Jumptown... Those areas have the best weapons loot. Bunkers are great too... Make sure to bring a 2000 uSCU crate (using a tractor beam) with you.
thank you, didn't know about this loot farms, but even thought, the npcs in the bunkers are pretty easy to kill with the archlight pistol and your undersuit, so there isn't much risk (yet) doing bunkers
The farms are a good source for weapons, medical and a few undersuits, the mining stations are good source for armor pieces, sustenance, and utility items. I find stupid amounts of random fruits and veg at mining stations, which I them sell, and keep the food bars and water bottles. Keep the weapons I tend to use and sell off the rest
I just go into bunker missions naked, kill everyone and walk out fully geared up! I only go to raid these farms when I want unique armour and funky looking helmets xD

My only mistake was trying to do the same at Kareah because I didn't know how many guard were in that place and I started to suffer the '3.18 Stutter'.... so I got shot and now in prison for 20hrs, hahaha
literally take 2 people to protect the site missions, one takes care of the contract the other multi-tools any and all bodys, when the mission ends move everything to the elevator and out the front, typical contracts contain minimum of 10-12 bodys take everything that isn't nailed down, rinse, repeat.
Honestly, you don't need much of a ship, especially if you do what I do and use a Lagrange Point station as a sort of base station. Something a lot smaller, like the Cutter or the 135c or the Nomad will work just fine and usually still have room to spare, and that was when I was grabbing everything. And if you don't mind making stops at your base station a bit more often, you can use any ship with a QT drive. Now, I'm a little more picky about what I loot. I don't need undersuits or random armor anymore or random ammo. Now I just grab all the tigerclaws, snipers, scopes, railguns, rocket launchers, basically stuff I really like and stuff I can sell to other players for a decent profit lol.
Can you sell the extra guns, armor and meds you don't use? And if so where? I'm assuming the respective wep and armor shops but maybe there was like a general place that'd take it all. Great vid. Added to the watch water for further reference!
they recently nerfed the loot at these locations pretty hard, especially railgun grenade launcher and fs9 drop rate.. the best spots for free guns are a bit harder to get to
You don’t need guns to do bunkers. You just need to work yourself up to ninja status and do takedowns on all the enemies. It’s more fun that way anyway.
Just move all to the base location inventory, and then you can go to the weapon shop and sell all the guns. But not lorville. It doesnt have a gun store.
i have another method that isn't as starter as yours, requires a mil, a couple of friends, and a consensus of loose morals. Step 1 buy a cutlass steel (yes this ship actually has a use) Step2 get at least 1 friend Step3 hover over any of the settlements on Microtech Step4 let the war crimes rip on the door miniguns Step5 haul in all the corpses, staying airborne, with your multitool Step6 split the loot and profit Not only do you consistently get collector items, like subscriber helmets, goggles, glasses, clothing armor, ridgewalker boots, jumpers, aprons, industrial clothing you can't buy, clotheable undersuits, etc. but you also get Microtech rep, since they are all illegal squatters and you even get a CTA bonus. Also mobs of squatters respawn almost instantly so you can literally stuff the cutty steel to the brim with nice squatter fashion just staying in one location
Wh... why didn't you sleep/medbay in the carrack so you could respawn in the carrack??? I feel as though I am clueless and lacking information. That seems like the first thing you'd do if you set out on an adventure in a carrack.
Here's something that worked on 3.17, not sure about 3.18 : You don't need to move the stuff you put in local to your ship. Just put everything in local. Once you want to sell, character reset puts EVERYTHING at your starting area. Just sell it all there.
Having watched several "how rto gear up as a new player" videos before starting I found myself scraping for pennies in a very short period of time. Its a game issue where the only rewarding in terms of cash per unit time played loop for raw beginners is combat based, and if you are not good at fps its a bit of a wall in the face learning curve. Indeed, the idea that you may not want to do loads of bunker busts seems to have passed the devs by. Likewise looting for profit after gearing up seems a bit under developed. I'd cheerfully sell guns having a nice little route that goes around places like this, stock stuff to shops and rare stuff to players but there needs to be a better mechanic than drop gun on floor, hope it doesn't fall through and then hope buyer sends money. Great video, thanks for sharing, got some new ideas. Mind you, I suspect that 3.18 is going to make hanging out in an asteroid belt picking up gems a plan if you are not into heavy PvP cos depending on the wipe there will be a lot of competition for everything and the murder hobos will see that as an excuse, as if they needed one.
when you're looting armour and weapons and move them to the ship inventory does it create boxes in your cargo bay that contain them or is this inventory still entirely virtual?
as a warning, all of the sites are also valid Bounty Target spawn locations as well, so BE CAREFUL if when you hop out, as they can and Will spawn above you, and instantly aggro your ship. ive lost two ship loads of gear that way.... also the Microtech farm, Bud's, seems to be buggy with the guns spawns since last patch or so, every time i visit i get either zero gun boxes, or at most one
It will be changed with further patches. It's way too easy to make money this way. Just like the Mining feature is also making way too much credits in a short period of time. So don't expect any of these videos to be useful after a few patches.
Yeah, starting out this is probably the best way if you start with little to nothing. It gets you familiar with ship functions land base combat potentially, always that threat. Grab a starting arsenal sell the rest and start doing what you want.
i just started this game with the free fly last week, bought it when it was over with the 70$ package, it told me i would start with 1000 but i started with the 200,000 i had from the free fly 😁
on 3.18 i've seen the bunkers littered with folks who try to naked run and punch hahaha. If the server tick is having a good day the bunker NPC's lock on way quicker than in 3.17!

You don't really need loot to go into a bunker but if you're semi-competent. AI is so bad that you can wait for most guys to be killed by security and then just knock out the rest of 9Tails.
And there bunkers are both more plentiful in terms of the loot available at each, but they also pay out for clearing them. What you don't get is the local storage though. But if all you need is enough to keep you going, you only need a couple of guns, because you can always get more

Lol, AI is so bad you don't even need that. Just sprint around doing middle click take downs on 9tails until they are all incapacitated, then go around stomping them all. I typically do bunkers without waiting a single shot, and if you are quick enough (which isn't hard because of how long it takes the AI to recognize that you exist and to finally decide to shoot at you), they won't waste a shot either!
And the Carrack with C8R in hanger and Wheels in garage U can leave mother ship in orbit or concealed behind terrain to hop the last mile stealthy. Then SELL all the Clothes looted, spare armor, etc for $$ to buy ammo, weapon. Finally, tons of free guns in bunkers.
This is a very valuable tip for beginners. But i'll say that i don't agree that you need money to make money in the beginning. You can simply use your ship. Even if its someone who can't yet fight the NPCs you can always just do investigations and delieveries. There's also a new type of PvE bounty missions where the target is on foot at wreck sites so you dont even need to exit the ship and they pay 15K each for a single target on foot.
That's exactly what I do. Loot up some armor along the way and earn some aUEC while I'm at it then start doing some bunker missions until I earn about 100,000 aUEC. Once I've reached 100,000 aUEC I then start running cargo to fill my bank account until I've got enough to buy the components/weaponry I need/want for my ships then start bounty hunting.
You don't need loot to do bunkers. Run into the bunker and knockout the first nine tails you see. now you have a gun. go hide and shoot the baddies til you can equip armor.

This is huge. And alot of the ones that pay 4K will have enemies patrolling on foot. Kill them with your ship and loot all their crap.
This is always the first thing I do after a wipe, take my biggest ship run to all the farms and loot up for like three consecutive hours!

Shady glen farms is a favorite of mine, odds are you find stuff more than not. And you can get distilled spirits

in 3.18 the fighters have a ton of internal storage now. Just park close enough to access both inventories
But this storage have a bug where it's not locked and everybody can open it. I made a report about it.

I have done dozens of these farms and none had that much loot
hdms faculties have loot and are an armistice zone to loot in safely if any one wants to know.

That's the way I always start making some cash and get loot.
Undersuit and arclight pistol is more then enough to get some basic armor.

The tick rate in 3.18 is much higher than 3.17, so NPC'S are RUTHLESS in bunkers on the PTU. Much harder to do the naked choke hold hustle!
@@DedLeader I find it's been very reasonable, tbh... I have a ton of Hurston Secuity gear from having ground it out this weekend. My only mistake was trying to do the same at Kareah because I didn't know how many guard were in that place and I started to suffer the '3.18 Stutter'.... so I got shot and now in prison for 20hrs, hahaha

literally take 2 people to protect the site missions, one takes care of the contract the other multi-tools any and all bodys, when the mission ends move everything to the elevator and out the front, typical contracts contain minimum of 10-12 bodys take everything that isn't nailed down, rinse, repeat.

Honestly, you don't need much of a ship, especially if you do what I do and use a Lagrange Point station as a sort of base station. Something a lot smaller, like the Cutter or the 135c or the Nomad will work just fine and usually still have room to spare, and that was when I was grabbing everything. And if you don't mind making stops at your base station a bit more often, you can use any ship with a QT drive. Now, I'm a little more picky about what I loot. I don't need undersuits or random armor anymore or random ammo. Now I just grab all the tigerclaws, snipers, scopes, railguns, rocket launchers, basically stuff I really like and stuff I can sell to other players for a decent profit lol.
Can you sell the extra guns, armor and meds you don't use? And if so where? I'm assuming the respective wep and armor shops but maybe there was like a general place that'd take it all. Great vid. Added to the watch water for further reference!
they recently nerfed the loot at these locations pretty hard, especially railgun grenade launcher and fs9 drop rate.. the best spots for free guns are a bit harder to get to
As it should be, what we had is only a stop-gap, as the game gets rebalanced, it will give value to game loops

You don’t need guns to do bunkers. You just need to work yourself up to ninja status and do takedowns on all the enemies. It’s more fun that way anyway.

After getting the goods take them to your ship & empty them on board then lay down on the bed log out log in and do it again & again

After u come back to base how do u move all gear to sell and where do u store weapons u want on future missions?
Just move all to the base location inventory, and then you can go to the weapon shop and sell all the guns. But not lorville. It doesnt have a gun store.
i have another method that isn't as starter as yours, requires a mil, a couple of friends, and a consensus of loose morals.
Step 1 buy a cutlass steel (yes this ship actually has a use)
Step2 get at least 1 friend
Step3 hover over any of the settlements on Microtech
Step4 let the war crimes rip on the door miniguns
Step5 haul in all the corpses, staying airborne, with your multitool
Step6 split the loot and profit
Not only do you consistently get collector items, like subscriber helmets, goggles, glasses, clothing armor, ridgewalker boots, jumpers, aprons, industrial clothing you can't buy, clotheable undersuits, etc. but you also get Microtech rep, since they are all illegal squatters and you even get a CTA bonus. Also mobs of squatters respawn almost instantly so you can literally stuff the cutty steel to the brim with nice squatter fashion just staying in one location

Wh... why didn't you sleep/medbay in the carrack so you could respawn in the carrack???
I feel as though I am clueless and lacking information. That seems like the first thing you'd do if you set out on an adventure in a carrack.
Do not know if this works anymore as of 3.19, been to two and no red boxes at either.
Here's something that worked on 3.17, not sure about 3.18 :
You don't need to move the stuff you put in local to your ship. Just put everything in local. Once you want to sell, character reset puts EVERYTHING at your starting area. Just sell it all there.
Having watched several "how rto gear up as a new player" videos before starting I found myself scraping for pennies in a very short period of time. Its a game issue where the only rewarding in terms of cash per unit time played loop for raw beginners is combat based, and if you are not good at fps its a bit of a wall in the face learning curve. Indeed, the idea that you may not want to do loads of bunker busts seems to have passed the devs by. Likewise looting for profit after gearing up seems a bit under developed. I'd cheerfully sell guns having a nice little route that goes around places like this, stock stuff to shops and rare stuff to players but there needs to be a better mechanic than drop gun on floor, hope it doesn't fall through and then hope buyer sends money. Great video, thanks for sharing, got some new ideas. Mind you, I suspect that 3.18 is going to make hanging out in an asteroid belt picking up gems a plan if you are not into heavy PvP cos depending on the wipe there will be a lot of competition for everything and the murder hobos will see that as an excuse, as if they needed one.
when you're looting armour and weapons and move them to the ship inventory does it create boxes in your cargo bay that contain them or is this inventory still entirely virtual?
No the inventory is not physically there not yet but when the ship explodes it create a box one SCu or two containing the stuff.
Just so everyone knows, this guy is still valid in 2024 on 3.22 patch

Tested this today on 3.18 live. No loot boxes were spawned in crusader :(
All these sites are packed now and with persistence the loots don't seem to respawn
as a warning, all of the sites are also valid Bounty Target spawn locations as well, so BE CAREFUL if when you hop out, as they can and Will spawn above you, and instantly aggro your ship. ive lost two ship loads of gear that way.... also the Microtech farm, Bud's, seems to be buggy with the guns spawns since last patch or so, every time i visit i get either zero gun boxes, or at most one
It will be changed with further patches. It's way too easy to make money this way. Just like the Mining feature is also making way too much credits in a short period of time. So don't expect any of these videos to be useful after a few patches.

Yeah, starting out this is probably the best way if you start with little to nothing. It gets you familiar with ship functions land base combat potentially, always that threat. Grab a starting arsenal sell the rest and start doing what you want.
Dividing and conquering in an org event can stock a carrack rather quickly. I'm kinda excited to start the farm up again.
oh, I didn't know you can find guns on outposts. I was pretty sure that you can only get armor out of it.

i just started this game with the free fly last week, bought it when it was over with the 70$ package, it told me i would start with 1000 but i started with the 200,000 i had from the free fly 😁

You don't need guns and armor to do bunker missions. You can go naked and use melee to clear it. It's faster than shooting, imo.
on 3.18 i've seen the bunkers littered with folks who try to naked run and punch hahaha. If the server tick is having a good day the bunker NPC's lock on way quicker than in 3.17!
So the wipe resets your in game cash and ship purchases... Does it reset your local inventories as well?

You don't really need loot to go into a bunker but if you're semi-competent. AI is so bad that you can wait for most guys to be killed by security and then just knock out the rest of 9Tails.
And there bunkers are both more plentiful in terms of the loot available at each, but they also pay out for clearing them.
What you don't get is the local storage though.
But if all you need is enough to keep you going, you only need a couple of guns, because you can always get more

Lol, AI is so bad you don't even need that. Just sprint around doing middle click take downs on 9tails until they are all incapacitated, then go around stomping them all. I typically do bunkers without waiting a single shot, and if you are quick enough (which isn't hard because of how long it takes the AI to recognize that you exist and to finally decide to shoot at you), they won't waste a shot either!
And the Carrack with C8R in hanger and Wheels in garage U can leave mother ship in orbit or concealed behind terrain to hop the last mile stealthy. Then SELL all the Clothes looted, spare armor, etc for $$ to buy ammo, weapon. Finally, tons of free guns in bunkers.
This is a very valuable tip for beginners. But i'll say that i don't agree that you need money to make money in the beginning. You can simply use your ship. Even if its someone who can't yet fight the NPCs you can always just do investigations and delieveries. There's also a new type of PvE bounty missions where the target is on foot at wreck sites so you dont even need to exit the ship and they pay 15K each for a single target on foot.
I went to 3 spots and i found nothing at all oven Bud's growery was locked couldn't go inside!! maybe bad luck
Just remember: Ship spawning at Platinum Bay Pads is not permanent, it will be removed.
they switched up the loot tables, nice. the farms didn't used to have guns in their loot tables.

That's exactly what I do. Loot up some armor along the way and earn some aUEC while I'm at it then start doing some bunker missions until I earn about 100,000 aUEC. Once I've reached 100,000 aUEC I then start running cargo to fill my bank account until I've got enough to buy the components/weaponry I need/want for my ships then start bounty hunting.
How did you get your Carrack in the PTU? I have updated my PTU account and I still dont have most my pledge ships.
You don't need loot to do bunkers. Run into the bunker and knockout the first nine tails you see. now you have a gun. go hide and shoot the baddies til you can equip armor.
