Hi Tom, you are the reason I am now a board game and have been now for 6 months. I would love to meet you one day to shake your hand and say Thankyou as you kind of saved me when I needed something to do as I am still convalescing from numerous operations etc. I have been looking for a formula 1 racing game as I also watch F1. Would you recommend this as the best out at least your favourite? I live in Australia where they are more expensive so all of my purchases have a lot of time and thought put into them. (Except X-Wing and LOTR LCG where I just buy everything and in X-Wing' case 3-12 copies of everything, yes, I have the sickness). I value your opinion + Zee & Sam's greatly. Any answer would be appreciated, from a fan Down under, Thankyou! & Best regards.
Looks really interesting. A lot of mechanisms and gameplay elements reminded me of Mage Knight: - hand of action cards + special cards (circuit specific vs. advanced action cards) - environment effects (weather vs. night/day and mana pool) - strategies that change a few times during the game (pit stop vs. night/day change) - specific role skills - robot cars vs. dummy player to force you to keep a certain pace Do they compare in *feel*? How AP-prone is Formula 90; is the downtime acceptable with the bigger player counts?
I love this game. It's very complicated because are so many small rules you have to think about so it's absolutely not recommended to a casual gamer I would say.
Thank you so much for this video. Reading the PDF of rules and looking at the BGG comments, I though it was going to be too complicated. This sounds great! Really high on my wishlist now. Edit: Ouch, almost $100 CAD no matter where I order from.
I know a similar game that's like 10 years old now or so.It uses the same plastic car models and the rules are very, very similar.Shame I forgot the name of it
DjFIL007 it is a take that style card game but at least it makes sense. The randomness of the cards and dice actually works as you never really know what's going to happen in a race. Still a fun game but yes much lighter.
Do you like hand management and strategy, or do you like dice rolling? This to me looks better than Formula D and can't wait to add it to my collection.
Just buy a console or try one of the better mobile racing games...it's much more rewarding, immersive and exciting. Some things just don't translate to a board game. Military strategy? Yes. Knowledge quiz? Yes. Motor sport? Not so much.
Did you try this game? This game is just awesome. If you are board gamer you should at least try it. Never judge a book by its cover. It's the same for military games...when you move your troops or tanks on a board, do you really think they move that fast or that slow depending on the spaces you move across the map? No. Besides, often, there is a race for position in war games too so yeah. Anyways, I thought like you, but believe me, give it a try, you'd be surprised, I know I was.

It seems that the 'save tires' strategy is too useful compared to the others. It's really easy to get track cards AND minimize tire damage.
Just bought the game - can't wait to try it out :)
This is an awesome game!
Nice to see such a positive review!
This is the first racing game that looks really good! I want to give this one a try.
Would love to know how this game compares to Formula D
This sounds awesome.
I wanted to get a racing game for a while now, maybe this will be it.
Don't hesitate!
It only lack more track but they are coming soon!
The best F1 game ever
It's good but nothing beats Formula De in my opinion
fixer10091994 FDe IMHO does not reach the depth, the feeling of a real race and the playability of this one, even solitaire...
I know a similar game that's like 10 years old now or so.It uses the same plastic car models and the rules are very, very similar.Shame I forgot the name of it
Formula Racing? The cars were in a line and you played a crud a turn and sometimes you rolled a d12
Tobias Dracup
This did use the same plastic car models. Drastically different type of game, a take-that style card game.

So amazon is the only place to find this?
EviLNox8 I have this in stock and will be at Board Game Bash in Austin this weekend.
So, Race! Formula 90 or Formula D?
Do you like hand management and strategy, or do you like dice rolling? This to me looks better than Formula D and can't wait to add it to my collection.
Formula Dé is better for realistic racing strategy I feel like
The Best game of F1
This makes my head hurt. It's not racing, it's accounting...with cars.
Great game
RASING GAMES

Yes.

Not so much.
