I creamed myself. DM covering Gordon Lightfoot - artists who are total opposites haha. But this is gorgeous! Dave’s voice is a great fit for this song.
Dave said in an interview that the reason they covered it is because they love Scott Walker, who did a version of this in the 70s. Both Dave and Martin are huge Scott fans so Im not surprised they finally got round to covering a song that he had sung himself. Theres a lot of Walker songs that would suit Dave’s voice so much.

I have no idea who Gordon Lightfoot is but I know the Scott Walker version. Dave had mentioned Mr Walker a few times in interviews for MM. I can think of a dozen other Scott songs I think would be a better fit - Its Raining Today, Always Coming Back To You, Time Operator - but this is ok.

Supposedly it's supposed to be the "b-side" to Ghosts Again, but I've yet to be aware of an actual physical single release.
