Hi, we're flying same route next month so really enjoyed your review. We have a shorter layover thankfully, but did your luggage stay airside or did you have to collect it? On the way back did you do same route? We're through Hanoi for return flight and I can't figure out if we need a visa or not! Thanks, Joa (UK)

Our luggage stayed airside on both routes (outbound and return), but it's a good idea to check that when you initially check in.
If you stay in the airport during your layover you won't need a visa for the duration of your layover.
