The seafood soup is not Phở, it's just called Mì Hải Sản (seafood egg noodles soup). Phở is usually served on flights as breakfast and lunch, not dinner or supper.
Vietnam Airlines started to fly to Europe from 20 years ago, firstly with one stop in Dubai, then direct from Hanoi and Hochiminh to Frankfurt, Paris, London and Moscow (suspend from March 2022 due to invasion of Russia to Ukraine).
From 2019, Vietnam Airlines started to fly frequently directly from Ho Chi Minh to San Francisco by A350.
For Australia, Vietnam Airlines maintain 4 routes from Hanoi / Hochiminh to Sydney and Melbourne, for nearly 20 years.

Can I check if there is a need to do security check at the Hanoi airport between your 2 flights? I am planning to go from Singapore to Taipei, and Vietnam Airlines is offering a good price for business class by transiting at Hanoi. While I do not mind the extra flight time for layover compared to a economy seat in a direct flight, I do mind the security check needed at many airports for transit. Can you kindly advise?
There was no security check for transfer at Hanoi airport.

Drug trafficking is routine for flight attendants. It was caught several times at the Incheon International Airport Customs, and this time, flight attendants from France to Hanoi were caught carrying drugs again. Not only this, but in Korea, gold smuggling is also caught. In Korea, Vietnam Airlines flight attendants are blacklisted.
That flight you mentioned was VN10 and it serviced from Paris to Saigon, not Hanoi. The flight services from Paris to Hanoi is VN18. Just a bit of confirmation. Anyway, the 4 flight attendants involved in that case were all got sacked immediately.
