Hello Paul - greetings from Poland.
What a delightful town. I will describe it as quaint and obviously very quiet and i guess a peaceful place to live. Very few telegraph poles and TV ariels and absolutley no dishes on the rooves. Everything is original. As you said, all the buildings are over 100 years old and have not been messed about with. A most delightful video. Thank you so much for taking me there

Yes, Marshfield is one of those (rare) Cotswold towns that do not come onto the casual visitors lips when they think of the Cotswolds. Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Cirencester, Burford, even Bradford-on-Avon, but Marshfield gets (unjustifibly) left off for some inexplicable reason. A very unspoilt and quiet town. Thanks again, Paul.

What a delightful town, how wonderful for you to have the place to yourself, it was certainly worthwhile getting there early. Another beautiful church, thank you.

Yes, this is a very overlooked Cotswold town, even though it is close to the tourist honeypot of Castle Coombe. Well worth an explore though. Glad you enjoyed it Faith! Cheers, Paul

It was as if you had stepped into an episode of ‘Miss Marple’. No cars whizzing along, a red phone box, no modern extensions to the houses-even the pub looked untouched. If I was after a 1950s location for TV etc I would be signing it up! Lovely long High Street. A great wander!

      Gosh yes!
The Cotswolds are a little odd in that for every Bourton-on-the-Water there is a Great Comberton, for every Castle Coombe, a Chalford, and for every Broadway there is somewhere like here, with an equally as impressive main High Street. But, I doubt that it hardly ever gets any visitors, yet it is only a few minutes (albeit unfortuately by car, and not public transport) away from Bath Spa.
The Marshfield ice cream farm was open last year for visitors, but although they still produce it here, the cafe is closed at the moment due to insufficient staff numbers.
      Glad you enjoyed the tour!
      Take care,
      Paul

I love these old villages. We have a Marshfield in Massachusetts, USA. Probably named after this one. Thank you for sharing this

Yes, I think that Marshfield Mass. is named after this Marshfield. Probably a couple of Pilgrim Fathers came over from here 401 years ago! Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment.

Thank you Debs. Yes, they are the same limestone as in Bath. In fact, Marshfield is only 9 miles from Bath. It is a slightly different (darker and less yellowy) colour limestone to that in the northern Cotswold that I've seen on my Cotswold Way walks. The whole town had a great feel about it. Have a lovely week too.

They certainly had their priorities right back in the 1600’s… right lads will build a pub here and the town will take care of itself 🤣 I’m all seriousness it’s a wonderful and charming Cotswold town I’ve never been too or even heard off, I guess spoiled only by parked cars everywhere, without them it would indeed look like it was way back in the day… wonderful video Paul.. nice one

Ah, you found the ice cream town video! As sold right across the Westcountry! I saw some for sale on a Cornish beach earlier this year. Sadly, due to overwhelming popularity, they have had to close their cafe and outlet centre and just concentrate on ice cream production. As this town is so close to Bath, I am very surprised that it is not better known. Thank you Lee, Cheers, Paul.

Pretty much a true undiscovered Cotswold town. There aren't many of them. It is all the better for it, in my opinion. Thank you! Cheers, Paul.

Hi again, watched this as you mentioned it in your recent Hallatrow walk. I’m trying to find your video where Cold Ashton is mentioned as I grew up in Cold Ashton and it’s a wonderful village. I thought it was part of the Marshfield walk, but wasn’t. Tried to find elsewhere but can’t, can you send me a link to where you visit Cold Ashton please? Cheers, Guy
