    I just discovered your channel last week and have been combing through your videos diligently in preparation for my arrival of my very own hormonal teenager:) I love your content and the sarcastic humor you include in your videos. I'm certain these tips will enable me to hit the ground running when my Mavic Pro arrives. Sorry I didn't purchase through your links, but now that I know a little about how you-tubers make money and how consumers can support your channel, I will definitely be conscious of that the next time I make a purchase:) Good up the good work!!

    You mentioned accidentally stopping the blades and falling out of the sky. The CSC (Combination Stick Command) bit me once. I was recording for the motorcycle police, and was just hovering while waiting for the instructor to quit talking. I looked up and noticed they were all getting back on their bikes. This was a little ways away from me, so I really didn't hear my drone, andI forgot I was hovering. Out of habit, pulled the sticks down and out to start the blades and take off. Dropped 20 feet instantly, and fortunately, not on a police officer, lol. Cost me $500 for new camera and legs for my Phantom 3 Pro. My Mavic is being delivered by a brown truck today, so I am glad to see it has the CSC for "Breakdown Only" option.
    Love the vids Ed, thanks!

    Thanks for talking about the "Always/Breakdown" part. I don't think I've heard anyone else mention it. Seems like it should be number one on any of the beginner tutorials for the Mavic, or any drone that has that option. You're probably right, many people have probably lost their drones because of this.
    Also, love your videos. They are the most informative, and you are by far the easiest to learn from. My Mavic should be here within the week, and watching your videos makes me feel like I'm already flying it. I've only had a few minutes on a friends Mavic, but I've got a couple hours on a Phantom 4 at work. I've never had the time to adjust ANY settings, or figure out any Intelligent Flight Modes, but thanks to your channel I think it'll be a walk in the park now!

    How does the drown define (break down) for Urgent Stop mode? I mean you have already kinda talk about the circumstance but is there any document that says when will the drone define itself that's at breakdown mode? Cuz I have it on always active due to I will never flick the control stick to both in or out. I just want to preserve that fails safe kill switch is active at all times.

    • @EdRickerVlogs

      Hi Jonathan, that's hard to say I guess. I've had to do it once when I crashed it indoors and it worked. It wrecked into the wall and was tumbling around behind a bookshelf and I cut the propellers off. I wonder if we can find a video on RUclips of something testing that function with a drone they don't care about haha!

      At the time I was using a cellphone with a plug that wasn't in the center of the phone, but rather far down to one side. So the included DJI cable for the side port was too short, and I can to reroute it underneath. No other pros or cons though.

    It'd great if you could clarify a little bit the "GAIN" issues of MAVIC.

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  8 лет назад

      Hey thanks for watching! Basically the more you add to the ISO, the more grain shows up in the image...it's best to not shoot with a high ISO. Increasing the ISO is basically enhancing the image brightness within the camera, so that's essentially considered "gain" on some other video cameras.

    • @pabloperlado
      @pabloperlado 8 лет назад

      Sorry Ed... it was perfect... May be the only thing you didn't explain was the issues related with the "GAIN".
      Someone elese explained them in aonther vblog but not clear at all.
      Thanks again... and if you discover how GAIN works I'd appreciate if you can share with us your points of view.
      (It was hectic this week with my projects as an architect! and I couldn't take a look on your channel)

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  8 лет назад

      From what I've read, Gain is the automatic aircraft operation, keeping the aircraft in control of itself. So with 100% across the board, you have a perfect hover (or automated flight path via Go App modes). Adding or taking away from the values in Gain will cause it to become unstable in flight, so they should only be adjusted if you already have instability. Sort of a manual way to calibrate the drone if you see it drifting/sinking/whatever without that corresponding human input.

Where you showing to place the stop motor in case of problems in ( brake down) that's not on my display screen so I don't know where that is located. Maybe you're using a different app but it's not on my dji go4 app. It shows CSC Moneuver or for use in emergency only. No where does it says or gives the option ( brake down).

      Hey, yes there is. I recall being able to press the "..." icon in the Go app menu to select a different unit selection.

      Gat App Technologies I just checked and there is two Dji go apps for iOS. One is Dji go phantom the other is Dji go Mavic. Either will work with
      The Mavic (I just checked it out) and they have slightly different terminology and applications. I.e. Dji go phantom will show gentle normal sport in EXP also one says Dji go and the Mavic says dji go 4. Hope this helps.

    Yes it happened to me. I got caught in some wires with my mavic 2 pro and I did the big mistake of freaking and both sticks down. I did not mean to do that at all.... It just happened. Had I not I'd not destroyed it. Glad to know I can turn this off. Thanks

    Enjoyed your vIdeo, learned a lot. I’ve noticed that certain settings on your remote differ from mine. For instance on the “urgent stop mode” that the rectangular box on your remote says “breakdown “ while mine says “for use in emergencies only” and when you click on the box you can also choose “CSC maneuver .” What is CSC maneuver? There are other areas on your remote that you can make changes to that influence the movement of the drone that don’t exist on mine. By the way I am talking about mavic Pro platinum remote and drone. Thanks .
