    • @Apolo810
      @Apolo810 3 месяца назад +12

      People can say what they want, but Group A was by far the most difficult. Peru and Chile are much better than Panama and Bolivia, and anyone who knows the basics of football wouldn’t doubt it. You got the world champion, Peru, which was top 10 in the world in 2017, something neither the USA nor Mexico has ever achieved. In 2019, Peru played the Copa America final and has always reached the semifinals in the last five editions. They hadn’t been eliminated in the group stage for 40 years. Chile was recently a top world team that beat Cristiano's Portugal in the Confederations Cup in 2017 and was top 7 in the world not long ago. They faced the best Venezuela in history in the semifinals and advanced.
      The USA played against Bolivia, by far the worst in South America, and Panama, which played its first World Cup in 2022 and didn’t get out of the group stage. You have one world-class player, Alphonso Davies, the best left-back in the world. The best USA player is someone who is still considered a future prospect at 25 and has never been a regular starter at the club level, only now at Milan. They don’t accept that in a few years, you are already better than them.

      I'm Canadian and we're not bad, but we're also not amazing. We played great vs Argentina and then okay in the other 2 games (remember both teams only had 10 men most of the game). Tonight we were good but just couldn't score, which is the one constant weakness of our team. As for the panel, yeah, they need to give Canada more credit. We did better than Mexico and USA in this tournament.

      I’m Canadian but we aren’t far superior to the USA. They have insanely talented players and strong depth. They are just really poorly managed.

      @rogerc23 I'm Canadian. I know how Americam sports media is toward us. It's backhanded. They are acting like we are toddlers first time out for a kick. They emphasize finishing chances but I see all teams miss chances in the same way. Canada just has this image now so they stay on it. The regulars at ESPN are great, however.

    How was the Venezuelan keeper not booked for the run of play preceding the goal they scored. He grabbed the ball at the side line and out right delayed the game preventing our throw in. The referee literally allowed him time to return into goal after his antics. Clear yellow in a properly officiated match. Canada were definitely lucky to earn the result after all of their missed chances.

    As for the woman, over 4 games they have had 4 goals against them and Argentina was one of their opponents. How is that a questionable defence? They blanked Chile, they blanked Peru, and held Venezuela to one goal. Please find better people to make comments. Don't hire people who open their mouth and think that jewels fall out.
