- Coming from a background in EDM, you guys really wanted to see my reaction to Ren's rap retake of Losing It by FISHER! I thoroughly enjoyed his rap over this classic song! His rhythm schemes and word play are so goofy at times but they are really impressive too! He's like the most serious unserious artist I have seen!

"He's the most unserious serious guy out there" - that might be one of the best descriptions of Ren's less-serious material I've seen so far. Even when he's not putting out music that's tackling huge, heavy messages - "just" engaging in wordplay and flexing - he's still putting out seriously impressive work.
edit: also, I (and many others) have been WAITING for someone with EDM understanding to get to this song (idk, maybe there are others out there already but this is the first one I've found). Lots of reactors are confused af with the name Fisher in the video description, and it's often the first "retake" they see of his so since they don't recognise the name they have no clue what he's doing (taking someone else's beats and putting his own words on top of it). I've been interested to see what people who actually know the Fisher track think of what Ren's done to it. I mean, full disclosure - I don't know much about EDM myself, and have never heard of Fisher before this. I'm just interested to hear what people from different demographics think of what Ren's doing, and what extra bits of information they might be able to contribute to the conversation about his music.
and finally - I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a Ren song where he phones it in on the lyrics (including rhyme schemes, wordplay, and flow switches)

There's a really fun one I saw. The guy isn't an expert but he was the first one I saw who knew the track. He was super stoked when he realized what it was because it was one of his favorites ruclips.net/video/ILD5k_tWJws/видео.html
I think he shares that quality with Eminem in many ways. Em can write great serious tracks like, Mockingbird and When I'm Gone, but then can hit you with songs and videos like Without Me. I think it is important too, to be able to show all those sides; to humanize yourself to your audience. That was what got me into Eminem originally. I didn't care for rap because I couldn't relate to what they were talking about, and it was (still is with so many rappers) this competition about how badass that are. Serious turn off for me - being one dimensional.

This is one of my Ren favs, it’s such a fun song with a shit ton of pop culture references; starts with a child’s nursery rhyme then goes into naming and showcasing directors, actors, characters, movies, songs, singers, sports figures, Tv shows… etc… So much packed into this retake! ♥️

And for the love of all that is holy please don’t do the tales separately - it’s pretty important to fans to see if you get the twist or not 😂 splitting them up makes us quite impatient and it also makes it harder for you to tie it together.

Yes i was really looking forward to this one, curious how you felt about his production skills specifically, since this is a track you know well and he did do some remixing to get a sequence of beat patterns he liked for his rap flow switchups. On original songs (the ones not labeled "retake"), he produces all his own beats. And you know, plays all the instruments, sings, raps, beatboxes...

Jenny & Screech (full) i the one you wanna watch. It's trilogy, Jenny's tale and Screech's tale were made pretty close together, but the third part Violet's Tale he did a couple of years later. That's why there's separate video's for each, as well as the (full) version, which is all three in one video. And yes, you wanna do all three together because it's a tale in three parts, and you deffo wanna experience the full tale in one go

Squid Game is the show you're thinking of. I think it's a direct homage from Ren (he's wearing the same track suit as the main character from Squid Game during the "Red Light, Green Light" part of the song.
You've gotta do the full video with all 3 stories. It is incredible.
Watch in order all at once. #1 Jenny’s Tale, #1 Screech’s Tale , #3 Violets tale. It will blow your mind. He even has a live version but I recommend that after the videos. He is amazing. Gets the audience into it. He is a modern day Bard. Amazing story teller. You won’t be disappointed 1000%
"The most unserious serious guy out there" is a pretty good description of Ren's work.
I would alse dearly love to hear your expert opinion on what he did with the production in Genesis and Power. A lighter touch than Animal Flow, but still complex and interesting to me. And Power was produced purely for the fun of it, a celebration of getting free of his management, created and released all in one week. (Also his throwback sound in What You Want might be a blast for you!)

I'm glad you watched this! most of the reactors haven't a clue who Fisher is, so they don't fully understand what he has done here. isn't it fab?
definitely the full 13 video for the tales. despite only saying it's Jenny and Screech, it's actually 3 songs, Violet's tale is at the end. When you watch it, pay attention to the the names, the ages and the hints of their backgrounds. one thing you can't know when watching the combined video is that Jenny & Screech were released together, and Violet's tale released several years later, to expand the story.
