Asuba bawana (අසුබ භාවනාව) directly translated to English as "Inauspicious meditation". As a buddhist I can agree with the 3rd explanation. No, its not about necrophilia. According to buddhist philosophy our body is comprised of 32 different disgusting things such as skin, flesh, bones, blood, saliva, tears, mucus etc. If we see those things separately, we feel disgusted by them. But we see only the beauty when they are combined as a man/woman. So when we get attracted to someone, in reality we are attracted to those 32 disgusting ingredients that make our body. This is the darkest meditation practised by a buddhist and yes it could cause suicidal thoughts in one after seeing the disturbing truth. So you'd better meditate at your own risk.
As a Sri Lankan Buddhist, I can agree with your statement. However, I can't understand why non-asuba bhawana related videos are categorized into that topic. It's like using the namesake of this meditation method to cover up their weird gore fetishes.
Sadly bunny hate also exist, One day I found a video where a rabbit got angry with a dog and the two had a small conflict, but no injuries, and almost all the comments were.. just horrible, They were usually directing hate towards rabbits without a real reason, They said that rabbits were horrible and aggressive animals, That the dog should k1ll the rabbit, About how they k1ll and t0rtur3 rabbits, etc..
how are rabbits aggressive when they are naturally prey and usually run away, but only fight if they want dominance (which all animals do) or if they genuinely feel threatened. These animal abuser are actually just either teens trying to act cool or a soon to be serial killer who is a lonely person

Thankyou for bringing that out, yes RUclips has a big problem with the animal torture videos, I also don’t understand why they aren’t doing anything against it?!
You wanna know something that makes my blood boil? It’s slightly stupid, but hear me out…it’s the NSFW content and destruction of cute/rare/expensive inflatables. It might not sound like much, but there’s an entire community that likes it, just like the animal hate community. It’s just as depraved, too. And it’s also popular.
16:26 There was a model of luigi found in a leak called the gigaleak showing hundreds of unused super mario world sprites and many different looks at the production throughout 1988,1989,and 1990
Username 666 was just a cool animation, and its creator is just a chill guy who is playing minecraft without any wiki info and making a video game with similar aesthetics currently.
i’ve been hanging out on yt since its inception and i remember coming across baby monkey hate playlists around 2008-2010. i was really interested in learning about non-human primates for some reason. i must have been about 14 then and i was disgusted with what little i saw in those playlists and comments sections. it was disturbing enough, so i avoided them like the plague after that. looking back, i’m starting wonder if some of the people in those comments sections live in places where interactions with monkeys are common and if they really are viewed as vermin, the way we in the west see rats and foxes (both of which are also very intelligent animals). that said, i also can’t help but feel like these people shouldn’t be trusted around human children, either… there are too many similarities between baby monkeys and human babies for my comfort…
A few months ago, the algorithm started suggesting really disturbing and gross videos whenever I would search for something that didn't return a lot of results. The two I remember just from the thumbnails are one that depicted a living cat covered in flies, and another one of a group of people killing a cow in the street as part of some kind of ceremony. Both of those came from simple searches that were slightly obscure, like products that were recently announced but weren't being talked about yet.
To expand on username 666, you can actually find 2 types of archived channel links on the Wayback Machine that go back as far as 2009, which could be as to why people went nuts over username 666. However, every archive link leads to a terminated account. It is theorized that the 666 channel was a previous YT channel that Nana owned that was terminated, however it is hearsay so I dunno myself

TL;DR: The third explanation for asuba bawana is the correct one. The "Bawana" means meditation (from the Sanskrit "bhāvanā" meaning "development", "cultivating",or "producing"). Based on the videos, it was a playlist of all the different aspects of the body related to morality and disgust, towards which Buddhists are called to develop detachment and equanimity. You focus on the disgust and distaste for this things until achieving indifference to them, easing your attachment to their positive opposites. It's not about removing some deep sick twisted desire, it's about removing attachments to beauty, health, and the inevitably mortal self and others, in line with Buddhist philosophy, by focusing attention and thought on those things we most viscerally and instinctually avoid focusing on. >t. I'm Buddhist.
To give my piece of opinion to the first one is this; I agree with the last theory of the video, it’s also possible that it was used to disturb the viewer into thinking the naked body is disgusting, thus helping with celibacy.
I really like your content bro, you explain stuff really good, and I have a suggestion for a video- I heard last week that people thought 2012 would be the end of the world, but when all of that was happening I was still going to kindergarten. So if you would explain it in a video that would be great!
By what I know, Asubha Bawana it's a Buddhist meditation technique to remove or try stop having lustful thoughs by looking horrible things, the goal it's to clean your mind of impure lustful thoughs by replacing they with disgusting and horrible stuff like a decay body or gore in general. This is a nasty technique, is old times monks observe dekay bodies in later stages of decomposition for long times to make they stop thinking on something sinful for they. Maybe these horrible videos are a "modern" version of this meditation in the form of video.
Yeah I remember trying to search for an instrumental version of the song funky town once. And i saw an uncensored screenshot from THAT video in the shorts section.
Oh I remember coming across a cr*shing video when I was a child back here on RUclips and I was completely devastated. I was just clicking around when a video of woman in high heels and the snake came up
It's obviously some kind of fetish, but should she be charged for animal cruelty for that video alone? Animal cruelty is just bad, and gets on my nerves.
@@D-DaayyI saw a dog stuck in a gate with his head gone and blood everywhere, and the body was still shaking, I mean I didn’t get disgusted or creeped out, I have probably one of the strongest stomachs.
The first two are basically already solved, Asuba Bawana is a type of meditation for Buddhists and Full Stop Punctuation is mostly shitposts. There is a wealth of weird rabbit holes besides this, but I feel like they're more funny/surreal than anything that could make for good horror content. That being said, character switching casting videos give me an indescribable feeling of dread and confusion.
"those slightly more naive" for believing username 666 back in the day really hit me man, I was 15 in 2008 but back then that was the equivalent of being 10 on the internet nowadays 😭 that damn video traumatized me to no end, but now Nana82 is a favorite artist of mine. For the most part, punctuation just seems to bring up vids about whatever punctuation you put in there. Period and / are the only two I've found thus far that actually still bring up full stop punctuation videos. For example, comma brings up coma vids (though I did find a random cool short where a mother and daughter pretended the ground was collapsing into nothingness - just video editing fun, basically).
I searched up the term "asuba bawana" in the RUclips search bar, and later found out it was a HUGE mistake. First, a few videos with clickbait thumbnails popped up and then the videos were just cartel murder videos similar to FunkyTown, later spotted RUclips shorts that featured slaves being murdered. Do NOT search it up, do it if you want at your own risk.
one disturbing thing I found on youtube once was a playlist called woman and animals, it was just a bunch of vids of woman slaughtering animals and while I do understand making such a video for educational porpuses, the comments were very VERY weird like people asking if the woman on those videos felt pleasure killing the animals or how they liked seeing the animals get sliced
No flipping way. In the first segment, theres the video titled in sinhala, I just saw this video in my recommendations. Sinhala is my native language and the meaning of the video is "Pilikul Bhavanava" which stands for a type of prayer, essentially a "calling to existence" as stated by Wikipedia. I got goosebumps when I saw the video title and thought that this was a crazy coincidence.

"To remove lustful thoughts from oneself" problably meant "To not think of boobas and get zorny" and the videos were to distract from that thought by something extreme like gore.
Asuba Bawana" also known as "Uncomfortable meditation" is a type of meditation in Buddhism that is practiced to fight against lustful thoughts using disgust as a weapon. Simple.
Not distracting to be honest, just seeing what a "beautiful body" really is. As a Buddhist this meditation was really effective at suppressing lustful thoughts. I used to be a severe 🌽addict, nothing had ever helped me as much as meditation. I understand some may find it repulsive though.
You sure about that? I mean there must have been at least one vid in the online era like that. I'm pretty sure with the way war is recorded in the modern day as well some sick bastard would have something like that in a personal collection.
@tenderturtle1019 war footage doesn't really fall into the catagory, same goes for crime scenes footage, they are considered historical footage and documentary evidence. No, to qualify as true snuff film, it has to be made for profit. The stuff pased around on most sites that ive been to dark or surface, are very good special effects or use footage from one of the "shock" horror movies like the Traces of Death series. And if you dont think that camera/editing/and practical effects can look real enough, keep in mind the film Green Inferno (2013) almost got a world wide ban and the production crew and director and studio were investigated by police , fbi, and several law enforcement officials where it was filmed. Also, prior to cam corders and handheld video cameras in the late 70s and early 80s to film such a thing would require a major production. And good luck finding a way to watch in your home, then vcrs came along but yould still need a buyer you couldnt advertise. It had to be mailed, dropped, or hand to hand transaction. Once the world went online drawing a bigger market was aided a bit by dark web stories and people ker their imaginations go wild. My dad and uncles used to talk about them when i was younger and laugh because theyd heard about them turning up at stag parties and that evening's ",star" usually was rumoured to be the bride to be, sa'd tortured, mutilated then deleted.
On the topic of meditating on the impermanence of beauty, I believe that the inevitable future ugliness should not detract from your appreciation of its present fairness. The fact that your instagram-worthy latte will later be coating the inside of a Taco Bell bathroom stall should not impact your enjoyment of its existence in the present.

Most of the videos in the Mondo Cane films are fake and not that shocking in 2024.
There is so much "lost" internet media. It's very very sad. All my Favorites are gone.

Something about the monkey hate rabbit hole. Thank you and HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY.

i’ve been hanging out on yt since its inception and i remember coming across baby monkey hate playlists around 2008-2010. i was really interested in learning about non-human primates for some reason. i must have been about 14 then and i was disgusted with what little i saw in those playlists and comments sections. it was disturbing enough, so i avoided them like the plague after that. looking back, i’m starting wonder if some of the people in those comments sections live in places where interactions with monkeys are common and if they really are viewed as vermin, the way we in the west see rats and foxes (both of which are also very intelligent animals). that said, i also can’t help but feel like these people shouldn’t be trusted around human children, either… there are too many similarities between baby monkeys and human babies for my comfort…
It is theorized that the 666 channel was a previous YT channel that Nana owned that was terminated, however it is hearsay so I dunno myself

but it shocked me too.
edit: im open if im mistaken, because im not 100% sure, just about 80%
Props to you for not showing the actuak footage, tbh it's already scary enough only with your explanation

Well? Staff wokies gonna wipe my post because of *just another animal* mentioned over here too? Just testing and venting

So if you would explain it in a video that would be great!
just imagine your little sibling typing the words in the thumbnail
By what I know, Asubha Bawana it's a Buddhist meditation technique to remove or try stop having lustful thoughs by looking horrible things, the goal it's to clean your mind of impure lustful thoughs by replacing they with disgusting and horrible stuff like a decay body or gore in general. This is a nasty technique, is old times monks observe dekay bodies in later stages of decomposition for long times to make they stop thinking on something sinful for they.
Maybe these horrible videos are a "modern" version of this meditation in the form of video.
how about the shorts that contains shock content (thumbnails) everytime you search something and scrolled for long?
Yeah
I remember trying to search for an instrumental version of the song funky town once.

Odd, since not once in film history has there ever been an actual "snuff pornograhy" film made. Despite over 100 years of pornography films.
