About the face/head triangle it seems important to mention that there are 30 options that can be swapped put for each end of the triangle, so lots of variance there.
That’s the part that absolutely floored me. That increases variation exponentially!
i really appreciate the fact that they have the same tattoos as DAI had, so when we make Inky they will actually look the same! Always bothered me when making Hawke that I had to completely replace their facial tattoo
Been playing DA for years, but I'm skeptical with this game. Maybe I'm just jaded, but many AAA devs have been seriously dropping the ball lately with popular series.
Considering track record of BioWare in the last decade, they will go for the minimal viable product so they don't get sued. I look forward to the bug compilations tho.

I remember encountering a character creator for the first time in Mass Effect and inwardly thinking “oh… the amount of time I’ve spent on this is embarrassing” and repeating that with almost every CC.
Then I became a bit more online and found out that I was in no way alone. 😄😆😆
Many thanks for showing the cc in more depth. I was curious how different sliders worked. So far, I'm pretty excited about it. Tho what's with the aspirational armour for the mournwatch mages(?) It looks like scruffy overalls. 😅

The need I have for this game is unreal!! I'm loving all of this from a longtime fan! Gods I remember waiting at game stop on midnight for the release of Inquestion just to get and play it to morning.
I love the choices in hair types now. The styles were largely all European hair types in the previous games, and it's good to see that they've actually taken it on board that people like to see a world as diverse as the one we live in.
On a related note, I probably won't bother with the top surgery scars myself, but it's similarly a lovely chance for those who have always felt seen by these games to be made even more welcome.
The tattoo options are great, too. Being able to focus a specific element of tbe design over others is a lovely touch.
All in all, this video has put a lot of my concerns to rest. Thank you, dearie!

the cc looks so great! hair options are wonderful but I'm still not over the fact you can choose to have cataracts in your eyes??? and the sliders for tattoos also being customisable so i can choose a tattoo that i like 2/3 parts of and get rid of the ugly part???? top surgery scars was the cherry on top for me, i wonder if there's a tattoo design where i can somehow look like i customised my rook's top surgery scars. I'm so excited thank you for the preview!
The character creator looks great. I’ve been very impatiently waiting for a new DA game since finishing Inquisition - which I got on week of release.
We have been let down with certain games in recent times but fingers crossed that Vailguard a good one.

Maybe I just missed it, but is there a slider to change the neck length and how big/small the head is in general? Because the body proportions feel a little off to me.
I'm hoping there is a neck slider cause it's the only thing that's bothering me. It makes everyone look stocky regardless of height.
Same, that’s really the only issue I have as well, it feels like the necks are too wide and short. I wonder if you make the face skinnier it also makes the neck skinnier? Or if you make the body skinnier it makes the neck skinnier? Would prefer just a slider for the neck

@@Kaleb.cornelius13 Starfield came out a year ago and has 156 people watching on twitch on a Friday night. The game was declared dead in February 2024. In contrast to another game MANY say is dead (Sea of Thieves) which came out 6 years ago and still has 2,200 people watching at the same time. Starfield was a massive disappointment and you could easily argue it failed.
Prioritizing inclusion over gameplay with regards to the top surgery scars. The previous titles focused on something called...gameplay. This game is most likely destined to fail. These activists posing as game developers need to go pronto.

I was so worried when they said we could have different body types that they’d pull a BG3 and give us either “skinny and buff” or “tall and extra buff”. I’m so happy to see that isn’t the case with DAV.

Thank you for going so in depth on this CC! I’m excited for your next video on it too. As a nonbinary person, I got very emotional seeing the top surgery scars option, and all of the inclusive options for pronouns/gender identity 😭 Dragon Age has always been a welcoming series for the queer community and I had no doubt that Veilguard would deliver on this type of thing.
I chose you for my first look at the CC and I'm so glad I did. This is AMAZING! Love everything and the all the sliders!!! Can't wait to create my Rook.

That looks so good. I can‘t wait to spend hours in cc to create my Rook and Inky. While I won‘t use all of the options (I myself am not into scars or tatoos much), I‘m glad Bioware included so many options to choose from.
I agree, the CC is outstanding! Can't wait to create my characters. The hair are impressive given all the choices and the hair physic. I love how much we can customize Qunaris also. The UI is beautiful and seem easy to use. And of course all the customizations options and inclusivity !!! So happy !! They COOKED.

From what they said in the FAQ I thought it was that the undergarments determine what you're showing when your character is in underwear but when in romantic scenes it'd override the undergarments and be fully nude. I could be rude
Thats what I thought too. I mean, Inquisition gave us full nudity (albeit cleverly cutting away from frontal shots that might show genitalia). I’d hate to see them going even further backward than Origins’ bikinis.

Why are y'all suprised that this game is inclusive/progressive in nature ? This series had gay romance in 2009 and a trans character in 2014 (a minor character but still).
The options in CC are OPTIONAL and romance isn't locked behind which gender you chose so what is the problem ?
The funny thing is they don’t know that the lead writers in previous games were Patrick Weekes (non-binary and pansexual) and David Gaider (gay). :D

So many hair style options to choose for my Male Elf Rook, Female Dwarf Rook, Female Human Rook and Male Qunari Rook. So many tribal tattoos, so many costume designs and so many factions. It’s not as big as Baldur’s Gate 3’s character creation in terms of class and race options, but Veilguard’s character creator options do have a lot of options in terms of factions and costume designs.
Why adding surgery scars in a fantasy world where magic exists? Unless it uses dark magic that cannot heal or something.
Because companies need to represent fraction of permille of population to get the some of the DEI funding, duh.

I'm not at all shocked by these whiny, try-hard edgy comments. I just think it's funny that they ever thought there would be a chance in hell that Dragon Age wouldnt have trans characters as an option at this point. Cyberpunk 2077 had the option, and so did Baldur's Gate 3. It's not going away.
