the one thing from inquisition i remember is the crafting system, which was the best one i ever encountered, by having the material directly influence parts and the weapons, and you litterally piecing it together
The crafting was genuinely incredible. And the fact that each material changed the color and sometimes the texture was brilliant.
@@JMel2012 Also the possibility to look cool while having the best stats was super cool
I feel so hype for this game. Bioware has always made for great dives into lore and character, and this game looks just like that but with more focus in its content and combat. That's a huge plus for me.
Their last good game was dragon age origins since then they’ve been making bad games tf are u on 🤣🤣
@@redgamesrc3128 What are you on did you forget mass effect 2 and swtor?
@@evilassassinking6419 I wouldn't even engage them. They're the kind of profile who only engages in toxicity but doesn't pause long enough to make a good, insightful, interesting, or even accurate point.
@@redgamesrc3128 Mass effect 2 or 3? DA2 or DAI? Star wars the old republic? Get out of here bozo.
I still think the Qunari need to be modded with their foreheads being so big, but I’ve seen Rooks look decent with cc options. The hair physics are amazing, and so are the environments. I want resolution to the story so I’m regardless. And the other things I’ve heard are the frame rates are pretty good, and there were no bugs or crashes. I also like the reactivity of the choices, reflecting onto the world. I may have not liked the art style first, but it’s growing on me.

Oh. A big learning here. I thought 'free respec' meant you could wipe the tree, but no, you can refund and play with individual skills. Awesome.
I had the chance to discover DA with Origins at launch (the physical PC copy, and its DLC Awakening, still lies on a bookshelf next to my desk, couldn't get rid of it through the years). While I share a similar feeling as most people in the gaming community about the evolution of the franchise, I'm really hyped for this new entry and it's a blast to see it coming back after all these years (15 since Origins).
The art style doesn't throw me off at all. I think it has it's own personality, especialy with the awesome facial animations, plus it's in line with the evolution of the style through the past iterations of the franchise. While watching your footage, I was more impressed by the stares than the lips. They seem to convey a lot of emotions when the characters are talking, or simply reacting. For example, at 19:13 that stare is amazing. Looks like something fishy is going on, or Rook is inapproprietely staring at the bartender, but you can guess what's in the character's head without sound and/or context because the animations speak for themselves.
I'm glad to see that Bioware seems to make the good decisions (community council for feedback) to get back as a trusted and competent team that we can rely on. Man, I really miss the golden age of Bioware and I hope this will help them to get back on track for further amazing titles (ME4 ? No, Andromeda doesn't count as 4 for me). It's also reassuring that you're part of that council, being able to share your thoughts with the team and have an impact (to a certain degree I guess) on the game direction and/or development.
It's a preorder for me at this point, I'll give it a shot no matter what. Thank you so much for your feedback and keep up the good work !
wasnt the industry obsessed with dark and gritty graphics at the time DA:O was released?
Ok I'm going Rogue, that parry/counter with the bow at 23:36 was awesome!
The game looks so freaking good. Thanks for showing the combat.

@@jpevc yeah I was in the same boat, but it grew on me. I still think it’s a little too smooth, but it is what it is. The hair is amazing.
It just looks goofy, especially the dark spawn. Not horrifying or scary at all. The pride demon was Iconic.... Well guess it's a good thing a lot of people play dragon age games for the story and characters lol.
Everybody so CRYYYBABY 😭😫😫🤣🤣. Man this looks awesome and I cant wait to get my hands on it. I LOVED Inquisition so much….im excited.
Good to see Harding
This game reminds me of when I play BG3 in a WASD-third person pov mod
Watching darkspawn get yeeted off into oblivion gives me joy. I just hope I can turn off quest objective marker and minimap and just get immersed
My most recent nightmare difficulty playthrough of Inquisition took 185 hours. That doesn't encourage replay and actually was a platinum it took me 9.5 years to get around to claiming. A more focused approach will make replays more appealing.
I love all the info about this game and I should enjoy it on paper, but man the art direction is so... weird and flashy it really turns me off. I mean the blight looks so derpy now
In my mind, some of that art direction makes sense. Jayvee discusses this, but also the outpour of magic in cinema is generally expressed through color saturation and similar art direction and... that's a big part of the plot. Beyond that, thematic contrast is HUGELY underrated by cynics.
Well i truly hope this is not the new ME: Andromeda. I hope to be positively surprised. EA made me hate them with very few exceptions regarding game releases, maybe a few months after the release I will look into it again :)
Btw - congrats to your position in the DragonAge Community Counsel 😊 use it wisely and i hope your voice will be heard
I worked in retail when Dragon age last came out, i remember EA comming out and promoting the game as much as they could to us.. i even got a pre release version to test it.. I loved dragon age, but not so much the last version.. Looking forward to this one tho!
I enjoyed Origins, had too much, still do have fun playing DA 2 default Female Hawke. DA:I was too much of a fetch quest, good grief. This game has to have a solid story, Seriously. I’m going to wait..
I'm not sure how i feel about the combat and lack of top down view. I must have been one of those 15%, haha.
i think people need to understand it's not bioware, the bioware of old is long gone, and from what i can see this might be their last hurrah, i can't see this changing their fortunes.
What's the chance Bioware still exist in a year
Jeez, I can’t decide which I’ll play first: rogue or mage. I usually do a first playthrough with one or the other, but both look pretty sick! I won’t be playing at launch, though-not on my potato of a rig!
I spent months shiting on this game 😂 now it looks like I'm going to give it a chance and actually get it. Granted a few weeks after 😅
The marketing made me really worried about this game , but after some of the coverage from independent creators, Im cautiously optimistic even if Im not a huge fan of them leaning away from the tactical combat.
Previews have been super positive. Game is a W.

@@Killerboyh bro, give a chance to it, can be good
@@Killerboyh The only L about this game is the NPC losers coming out of the woodwork to cry about colors and wokeness.
@@TheFuronMothership will you also cry when the game flops?
I appreciate your take here, so different to the current negative narrative about this game
With all due respect, that “narrative” is just people commenting on here
The official review channels are almost unanimous in favor a this crap 😂❤
How nice was the hotel they got you 😂❤
I know this is personal preference, but the characters look bad, the mobs look cartoony. actually all the graphics look cartoony. I wish they had gone more gritty or at least more realistic. look at wukong as a reference of great graphics. and I actually like more open world. I will try this for sure. but my hopes are not up. I hope it proves me wrong.
The monke from wukong looks more realistic 😢
The 2 things that have me buying this game are the new combat system (I AM NOT an auto-attack kind of girl) and the chance to beat the life out of Solas (I never trusted him and then it turns out my Inquisitor's biggest problem and trauma it's all his fault)
I'm going to wait until release and then watch a few streams before I think about buying this game. Too many people I'd usually look to are too polarised to give reasonable opinions by now, and six hours isn't enough for an rpg.
I do already know that I really don't like the art direction (yes, that changed a lot between games, but I liked how DA2 and DAO looked far more) and the lesser degree of control over what others do in combat (which does seem to make it a bit less clunky, so that's good), though.
looks pretty good for dragon age
My first game in the DA series was Inquisition. I loved all the lore and worldbuilding.
I'm happy to see they cut down on side missions (i hated going to the war table to have my council go on missions. I feel like most of them were pointless and only a handful had certain outcomes that i needed, but again, didn't matter much in the end. Only really did it for money or influence.)
The combat was probably my most favorite. I had a constant attack and options to be reactive. It was simple. It's nice to see them expand on the combat system. Not sure how i feel about the skill tree yet.
Not sure how i feel about some of the super vibrant colors, but like you said, different part of the world and there are more mages around. Magic is going to play a big factor into how an area is lit.
You'll always have people that complain that a creator is ruining something by trying something new. I only played a little of Origins but couldn't stand the system(because i played Inquisition first). People like what they like, and usually it's what they first started playing. They have an emotional connection to it. I want to play this game because i want more of the story. I missed Varric and Solas and i want to see what happens.
I really hope it turns out good I need more rpgs!
Dragon age: the ESGguard
Rocky’s Horror Dragon Age 😂❤
Action combat = definitive no, I played DA because I loved RPGs, if I wanted action gameplay I'd have gone for God of War or some other retarded action game like The Witcher 3
@@raoniluna4091
Did you just call arguably the best RPG of all time a retarded action game? That game being Witcher 3.
I don't like the combat at all, its flasher sure, but its seems so much more dummed down from previous games, and has moved away from the strategic fighting to just a action adventure game.
They are sacrificing the base of their gameplay. If your base gameplay is rough and hard, why don't you improve it and update it? .... is it true that these people prefer to implement instead of improve
Im excited for it thanks
Is it just me or is the comment section full of npc bots?
It's not just you. Asmongold's cockroaches must have gotten lose. 💀
@TheFuronMothership I used to like that guy but holy he's so toxic about this game. I think he even said he's never played dragon age before so he doesn't even know what he's talking about 😂
I apologize for the distress of me publicly giving my opinion on here 🙌 I’m not strong enough like u ❤😂
Congrats on getting early access!
At this point alot of people have stopped watching anything involving veilguard they saw how they massacred the ip for their own beliefs and just dont want to voice criticism in an echo chamber of people determined to believe in this flop.
In the end when it comes out and people dont like it there still gonna blame haters for the poor sales and bad reveiws from people who werent payed to review the game. When we dont get another dragon age remember it was you guys with your endless positivity for a blatently limp game that killed it.
Amen 🙏 it’s ok to want better
Especially when it’s my god dam money 💰 😂
i must say the combat looks alot better then the video that BW release, they should really use a better player for videos they release, looks alot more fun when its a better player in control
the problem with DA , the Story telling to be honest has always been Meh, if you can make a game with zero charisma, it's DA,esp compared to Mass Effect.
the characters are frankly dull, not likeable or unlikeable just meh
sick
I tested Satisfactory pre-early access and gave feedback to Coffee Stain. I bet I'm way more proud of that than you are of Veilguard.
Looks like a $20 game

No, dont play or buy BAD games from EA or anybody, and never pre-order no matter what, this is looking good so far.
@@whyteshadow57 I think we are looking at different games. Next to nothing presented so far in veilguard looks promising or enticing for a dragon age fan, let alone gamers in general. :C Dragon age is one of my favorite franchises and this just ain't it so far.

Not all EA games are bad
The only good thing about this showcase was the background music ngl, game looks absolutely soulless and nothing like Dragon Age. Theres no grittyness, no darkness its just bland marvel-esque slop with no sense of weight and importance towards the setting. Gonna have to pass on this, what a shame.
Such a shame this looks so far from the original games. Almost like Disney made it lol
the hell are these comments this shit looks terrible, absolute betrayal to the franchise.

Dragon age the gay guard
Dragon Age Of the GAYLord
Dragon Age has always been gay. Zevran and Leliana are both bi, Inquisition has a gay male companion, multiple bi companions, and a prominent trans man NPC. Go home, tourist.
@@TheFuronMothership shut gay
I hope that what the trailer showed with that stupid feeling and mocking comedy of Marvel causing AIDS, I hope that the tone is more than a Marvel movie with three acts
I am a straight gamer and while I am up for inclusion all kinds of people that doesn't mean eliminate the stuff that appeals to straight gamers. Not everything needs to be super gay. If you want to include that at least give us straight options when it comes to character design and romance choices in games like these.
I've played 6 hours as a straight male character and not encountered a single moment of gayness. Not sure who is telling you that it's super gay but it's simply not true. It's as gay as the original game was 15 years ago
I think he's talking about how the devs have said stuff like "the game is very queer". There were plenty of gay opportunities in the original games too iirc.
What is this talk? Dragon age has been super 'gay' for forever now , multiple gay characters through the years , a trans character and now people are suddenly trying to act like this is new because of this nonsense culture war? Like damn man , at least know about the franchise your talking about before having these comments
This game looks like Fortnite. It's wearing DA as a skin-suit.
Looks nothing like Fortnite. I am so tired of this. Put a screenshot of both of them together and you will see the differences.
5:06 he has hair 🫣
This just feels like a beat um up game now and I am not a fan. The combat is so simple and your lack of control over the companions seems frustrating
Literally every single preview talked about how the combat is much deeper than it seems.
This looks nothing like a beat em up. 💀
lol just because the combat is flashier doesn’t mean it’s a BEU game. I’ve always wanted the combat to look this way, so maybe I’m biased. The slow target locking on and spamming the same button for combat was the worst part of every dragon age game in my opinion.
@@bwillsskates2638 the "flashy" part is the part the bugs me the most. One character looked like they were constantly doing dance poses at the end of moves. That is part of what I mean by beat em up. It's not serious combat to me, its pushing it into funny combat, and that to me borders on specials moves in fighting games. I am much more immersed in character that moves like a real human welding a sword than what I am seeing.
If you're looking for fluid combat in an RPG, I think you've got Devil May Cry running around the block, but anyway, the logic of sacrificing everything for "the new audience" is a joke.
I'm happy you're sharing this information - and whilst I know Inquisition wasn't the best for everyone, I feel the franchise just continues to get worse and worse.
Yes, I'm buying the game, because I like Dragon Age, but I skipped Dragon Age 2 entirely because I hated its combat and art direction.
Dragon Age Origins & Inquisition are the best and show always have been the template for Dragon Age 4.
I hate every franchise randomly deviates from its original genre to focus on Action Gameplay.
Dragon Age was a CRPG, don't make it into what it isn't.
Just like how Final Fantasy was a Great Turn Based Game that got botched by being turned into another mass made Action Game.
Top Down Tactical being removed sucks.
Having less companions is such a downgrade too.
More Companions playable at one time is better than less :/
Ugly characters, handholding and DEI, nope, hard pass.
This looks so bad.
yeah not overly impressed, DA has always seemed souless compared to other RPG's.
I'm looking forward to it. Its friggin Dragon Age ffs. I didnt love Inquisition but it was still an objectively good game. I mostly hated the Quinari companion. God that creepy a** ruined the game for me.
wokeness it's always wokeness
