    I made this, and it turned out sooo great! I was worried about it not being "flippable", but it went well. Tasted great. I put some fried red onion and neutritional yeast in as well. Definitely reccommend for people who miss Tortilla de Patata

    I live with a vegan & this is my go-to potato omelette recipe! I’ve made it about 5x now! It comes out so good everytime & looks beautiful. It’s fun to play it up with herbs, onions, red pepper, or even use sweet potato!

      Thank you 😊. I found that the potatoes are fa better boiled than fried as they are too dry when they’ve been fried and that’s the last thing this recipe needs as chickpea flour is quite dry. The boiled potatoes really help with the texture and it uses less oil, win win! 🌱💚😋

    Thank you for this easy version. It inspired me to try an eggless quiche that turned out beautifully. I sautéed leeks, garlic, and mushrooms. Once those were nearly done, I added the flour/water mixture right over the top. It was in a huge cast iron skillet; way too big to flip with a spatula. So I did something similar to your plate flip technique using a Teflex baking sheet and it came out perfect.

    Fantastic recipe. And yes, as many comments suggest, it can be pepped up with the variety of other ingredients, but it doesn't really need to be - in it's essence, it is simple, savoury and perfect. It both looks and tastes amazing! Thank you so much. 💚

    I'm from Spain and this is sooooo perfect ❤️ But we used to fry (in olive oil) a little the potatoes first (just a little) and another popular version is with onion, while you're frying the potatoes a little you add the onion with them, so they caramelize a little and it's soooo good T_T ❤️✨

      Ms. BloodStone fried potatoes would be the traditional way but I just fancied saving the fat for that big spoonful of mayonnaise at the end!!!

      yes that is part of my childhood experience and presenter totally open to these great ideas -- below someone mentioned paprika; all excellent. I'm not a fan of pretend meat, just me, but I've made Hungarian goulash soup with mushrooms instead of meat -- not sure anyone noticed

    If you steam your potatoes whole then chop them they have the most incredible texture. I cant wait to try this In, steaming my potatoes now.

    I added half a finely diced onion, a pinch of onion powder, and subbed 1 and a half tsp of black salt to get that sulfur taste. Delicious!!! So simple. Thank you thank you!

    It looks great on its own, but it also looks like a way for me to make a spinach quiche that is vegan and has a crusty edge to it (the potatoes). I love that you use very little oil and thanks for showing how to flip it!

      Now you even got me thinking that, flattened out, like in a larger skillet, say about an inch think, it would make a great pizza crust.
      I love being Vegan and it has been less than a year. I love stumbling across videos like yours that show how easy it is to make tasty vegan, low oil food. I will repost about the spinach, potato quiche. Thanks again.

    I recently went to Spain and was unable to find a vegan version of this dish. I'm glad RUclips recommended this video bc now I'm making it since I'm stuck in the house (fortunately I have all the ingredients..) Thanks for this recipe!

      Andrea Dehant we have the recipe written down here on RUclips, if you click the drop down description box(whilst viewing from a mobile device), the full recipe is written. It is obvious when viewing from a pc or laptop, but not so obvious when in the mobile RUclips app. We do this with all of our recipes as I personally do not like when it when the recipe is not easily available(eg. Having to visit a separate website outside of the App). I hope you have fun making the recipe. Don’t forget to use a good pan if you have one available, it can turn into a bit of a mess if it starts to stick lots! Very best🌱💚🙏😋✨

      Tasty Vegan Bites I just made the omelette I'm eating it as we speak. Mine did not turn out as beautiful as yours cause I chopped up the potatoes a bit too big, but I followed the recipe exactly. i used all black salt for the eggs and used tumeric for more golden color and and used 2 tbsp chili infused olive oil it is delicious. I love it, it's so delicious! Will make this again. 😄

      Michael Krueger sounds absolutely delicious 😋. I also love experimenting with all sorts of veggies, I made one today with spinach, butternut squash and red onions, everything went in raw and buy the time I had turned it a few times it was all perfectly cooked. 😁

      It wouldn't have turned out as beautiful as Tasty vegan Bites version because he cut the shot when he was turning the omelet out to a different omelet that had been pre cooked on the other side... I find that when you are ready to turn it, if you have the grill on and just put the frying pan under the grill this saves all the mess of trying to use the plate method ;-)

      Dear Friends of God......................Please research God's Time/Calendar in Genesis 1:14 before the False Sabbath law is enforced! Actions are in progress to honor a Sabbath day. Already today, there are Sunday laws written on government books.
      Saturday nor Sunday is NOT the true biblical Sabbath. Genesis 1:14 is a commandment from God. God commanded us to let the lights in heaven be for days, years, etc. We are to use the sun, moon and stars to calculate our days, years, signs, seasons, Sabbaths, etc.
      The Sabbath commandment is one of the Ten commandments listed in Exodus 20 and It is just as important as the other nine commandments. It is to be kept!
      The Sabbath is calculated by God's Time in the heavens not by the Gregorian Calendar or any other man-made time. The Sabbath is a sign between God and His people Israel and whosoever join themselves to them. One law is to Israel and to the stranger. Exodus 12:48,49
      Note: Sunday is the seventh day in the majority of countries.
      Also, research the "seven Noahide Laws" From my research online, these laws are Jewish laws taken from their writings, namely the Talmud. The first law in the "seven Noahide laws" forbids the worship of idols. According to Jewish writings, the worship of Jesus, Yahushua, etc........is idolatry and is punishable by death, decapitation. There is a movement to enforce these laws on all nations. Research the connection between President Bush, President Trump, The United Nations, etc and the " seven Noahide laws"
      BEWARE OF THESE "SEVEN NOAHIDE LAWS". THESE LAWS ARE VERY DANGEROUS TO CHRISTIANS AND TO ALL MANKIND!!
      Lastly, there is much talk online that the Jewish people residing in the land of Israel today are not the true Israelites and that the true Israelites are today now scattered throughout the nations, is this true? Research, Who are true Israel?

    In India we do almost same version but with multiple vegetables finely chopped or grated say calabash carrots pepper cone and even jalapeno peppers it taste great as complete meal or quick bite have with diffrent dip sauces

      Thank you 😊. Yes more videos are needed and quickly. We have many, many videos planned(ie recipes that have been tried and tested). The most challenging thing for us at the moment is that we have a new baby and I’m working full time(a job that is not RUclips). Finding time is quite challenging at the moment. Of course, if this channel gets lots of shares/views etc, then the revenue generated will allow me to give up my day job and dedicate that time to videos🙏. That’s the plan, it’s happening, it’s just a matter of time ⏰...

    Lovely recipe! In fact the ingredients are so indian.
    I have been cooking this with almost same ingredients, infact I got inspired from Korean gamjajeon but I replaced the cornstarch( which koreans use) with chickpea flour(it's so common here in India) in addition I use a lillte of green clillies.
    But instead of boiling the potatoes I simply grate raw potatoes and directly add.
    In adition to being vegan it is also satvik, an Indian category of vegetarian which doesn't allow the use of onion garlic, chives and mushrooms.
    Great job!!!

    Tip of the day: Slide the omelette sideways onto the plate, drizzle some more olive oil onto the uncooked side, then place the pan upside-down over the omelette and invert it. This helps get a crispier, crunchier surface to both sides, and the existing oil on the underside helps it slide easier. (I add fresh-ground black pepper)

    This is delicious! Seriously! I love it. Though next time I will use a smidgeon more black salt because it didn't really come through after cooking (Because I'm going to make this for some omnivores next & I want this to taste more, um, familiar for them. You know how it is.)

      Thank you!!! I’ve witnessed so many ‘opinions’ for the use of the word ‘omelette’ as you can imagine, lots of explanations of its literal meaning have been posted in the comments section, some nice, some not so nice!!!! I used the word ‘omelette’ because it’s really a vegan version of an omelette, obviously we don’t use eggs, but which words would you type into RUclips search if you wanted to see a vegan version of an omelette??? It’s interesting to see that people do have many ideas, all of which are valid (at least to them). We embrace everyone who comes to our channel to have a look, it’s here so everyone can see, have a go and say whatever they wish. Thank you for your supportive, kind words, it is great to see that people believe in the things we do. We just personally feel that if you can survive just eating/using plants 🌱, then there is obviously less suffering caused. I do know that they often use animal manure/blood/bones/etc to fertilise lots of veg/trees etc, but of course, the less meat/dairy that people eat/use on planet earth, the use of these things will naturally reduce until they are no longer needed. To eat plant based is a step in the right direction for the evolution of ourselves and the whole planet, we have a choice, we have made ours!!!       Also the eggy flavor (sulfer) does not stand up to heat. Better to just sprinkle on after cooking

    The basis for an Italian/Spanish frittata ; for me the best recipe I found so far. Because flour is substituted for eggs, the kind you choose is important; here dead right. People have commented below that a frittata is a medium for onions, peppers and mushrooms which is my childhood memory. I will try this really well thought out recipe with above vegs.

    add nutritional yeast, flax seeds powder or chia seeds and it will increase the nutritional value....good recipe. In India we make different pancakes with gram flour ....

    try this. make some flaxseed gel by boiling a spoonful of flaxseed in a glass of water fro 10 mins. strain and let cool. add this to the chickpea flour with a spoonful of vegan yogurt. beat it till it looks like a beaten egg. flaxseed gel mimics the slimy texture of egg whites and gets in a lot of air in while beating to get a "fluffy Omelette" you may add a spoonful of nutritional yeast to make it taste Cheesy too.

      Thank you! It certainly is yummy. Gram Flour is normally made from ground chickpeas, but you can also use Besam flour, which has a mixture of chickpea,lentil and sometimes other legumes. We hope you find it and manage to have a go😋🥰🙏❤️🌱

      Bethsheba Overcame thank you!! Spinach and nutritional yeast is a great addition, I must try it! When I make a spinach version, I use the gram flour, a fair bit of garlic and the spinach of course! It’s absolutely delicious 😋. Do be careful about how much salt you add when lots of spinach is used, I’ve found out that less salt is needed when using spinach😋

      Simantini Sinha thank you! the white sauce in the video was vegan mayonnaise, it also goes very well with any tomato based sauce or with a delicious curry sauce! I’m sure there are many different sauces that it goes well with that I haven’t tried yet as well!😃
