Chatty Work Update || DCP Fall 2017

- I wanted to sit down and talk a bit more about my job since I haven't done much of that in my videos! I didn't really get into too much detail, but please ask any questions that you all have about working down here! It's a different kind of video, but I hope you all enjoy it!!!

I'm a Dcp alumni (FA 2015-2016) and now full time. Ive worked at 2 different locations and I agree 100% the fact that the people you work with are what make the job in the parks even better.
skittlezroc9793 YES!!!! I can't imagine not being super close with the people I work with. They make the days so much better!!!
My kids already know the want to do the DCP. These vlogs are great to show them the reality of it. Keep up the great work!

Also we felt bad for you trying to make sense in a sea of chaos at that corner. God bless people like you that can keep a smile in that.
Ghost watcher here, but I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. I'm a Fall 2015 CP and I also worked in MK-Tomorrowland Speedway, so your vlogs make me miss home SO MUCH. But I love that you gave those applying some insight into CP schedules and hours and everything! Also...I can totally relate with the whole "I watch you on RUclips and you have zero idea I even exist" thing Haha!

Love this video! I like the vlogs that update us on how the job is and how you are adjusting to life there. There are a bunch of vloggers that only do park stuff and that doesn't get viewers invested into watching. People who want to do the program want to really see what life working for Disney is and that isn't just going to the parks. Do more of these! 😊 Thanks for all your great vlogs so far!

Hi Sarabeth! Just to start off, I adore your videos and your personality. You remind me of what the Disney company strives for. I've been attending the parks since i was 5 months old as i am a disney addicted floridian, and my dream is to do DCP. I still have high school to go through (attending ninth grade this fall) but my plan is to apply as soon as im eligible. I won't be bringing one down when I go for the Spring. So I was wondering: for the shifts where you get off at 3/4 am are there buses that bring you back to DCP housing?

This was a great chatty little catch up! Not only is it a great resource for people considering applying for the program, but I think you'll appreciate it later when you've left (if you ever do 😉) as a way to remember those little details! If I didn't share stuff on my tumblr during my program I think I would have forgotten so much of the day to day, so keep making stuff like this when you have the time!

I've got lots of customer service experience with both retail and amusement park jobs, so I was a bit surprised but I told my interviewer that it's really just what you make of it; I haven't been to Disney in years so it'll be worth it no matter the job!
Oh absolutely! I mean, it's all in your attitude! If you decide to love every day and make magic for guests, you will! It totally is what you put into it!! You're going to love it!
i did QSFB on my ICP at Pinochios and loved it - its def what you make of it :) i loved being in the middle of everything and its so busy the time goes by so fast !
Absolutely loved watching you go from early morning Southern Belle into an total Disney Princess. And hearing about life in the DCP was great! I've been to Disneyland at least 20 times. If I ever make it to Disneyworld I will make it a point to stop at the Ice cream shop and thank the CPs for what they are doing. I'd tip if I can.
I got accepted for QSFB for this spring (advantage). I would LOVE to work in the Ice Cream shop! Thank you for talking about your job!

i have been loving your dcp vlogs so far! i'm participating in the dcp spring 2018 as QSFB so this was all really great to know! if you have any housing tips or ever do a housing tour video, that would definitely be super helpful too! i feel like I don't know what to expect! looking forward to more vlogs:)!

Watching this on my last night here :( Ahh! I'm low key super excited to hear that you remembered me and that I made your day considering it made mine :P haha, I was so excited to meet you! You were so sweet. We kept checking all day to find a non busy time, I'm glad we made it. And thank you for the birthday wish! It was so crazy, though. I love the idea of having your day free and being able to sleep in. However, I would have struggled on going out. Me and my roomies "went out" a lot and I wouldn't have been up for doing that, if my shift ended at midnight or later.
How far in advance of your start date did you find out your location?

Hi Sarabeth! I just recently found your vlogs and really enjoy them because they're one of the only dcp vlogs that shows what it's really like and not just fun in the parks. I loved this type of video! Also I was wondering how far in advanced are your work hours scheduled?
Kerianne Hart Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you liked this type of vlog!! I'll plan to do more of them!!! And we new schedules drop every week on Sunday at midnight. So you get it a week in advance!
Would you mind talking a bit about cast member parking and the route you have to go to your job? Basically like the process from parking at MK to starting work. And if there is like any briefing you have to get after you clock in before starting work. I'm just so curious about the little things! I have my PI on Friday amd I am soo nervous!
Oh and tell your roommate from Southeastern hey! I go to Southeastern and it was soo cool to see her wearing some school shirts at the beginning haha!

Hello Sarabeth! I was just accepted for dcp spring 2018 in Disneyland for qsfbc. So far every vlog I have seen is people bummed about this role. You have made me so excited for it! I am thinking about vlogging my experience during my program but I am not so sure about how to start. Do you have any tips?
Maranda Lopez Yay!! Congrats girl!!! That makes me so glad to hear! I had the same issue with everyone being so negative about it and it made me sad because its such a wonderful opportunity! QSFB definitely has tough moments but EVERY job here will!! You get to work so closely with all your coworkers and if you make the best of it, you'll love it!
I would say he biggest thing is being super consistent with posting videos. Just make them and post them because it feels awkward at first haha! So the more you do it the better!
Also, another word thing, one of my best friends growing up was named Miranda Lopez..so crazy hahaha!!

ariana rivera Unfortunately, there's no way to preference where you'd like to work! But I'm sure wherever you get placed, you'll love it!!!

I was accepted for Spring 2018 for the QSFB program and I also plan to vlog it! I was curious, do the busses to the complexes run that late for the super late shifts??

Megan Hackelberg Yes!!!! Most of my shifts end from midnight-3AM and the busses will always be running!! You'll never get left!!

also, you mentioned a seminar! i'm planning on registering for the entertainment show production seminar, but does registration open closer to my program beginning?
marysainwonderland yes, they will send you emails notifying you about all of that! But you'll register closer to your move in date or after! For reference, I moved in on the 14th and I registered for classes on the 16th!
Can you wear your costume to work--or do you normally change when you get there?
lakb45 You can do either! I only know how it work for MK but they have giant dressing room that has lockers that you can get. Literally just today I got a locker! So, I'll just wear regular clothes to work and then change there. But prior to today, I always wore my costume there!! It took a long time for me to get used to driving next to people in my costume haha!

I do have a question: What kind of classes are you taking? I find the whole DCP very interesting, as I am not in the US and it is not a very common thing in our country to work for a company and take classes there at the same time

Daphne Jansen I've already finished school, so I'm not taking classes for my college. I'm just taking seminars that they offer. I haven't started them yet though, so when I do I'll make a video more about them!

Bri Elizabeth I made a whole video about the application!! You can check that out! But mainly be patient!!! There's a whole lot of waiting and psyching yourself out! So being patient is the best thing!!

Love your videos! I am waiting for the application to come out for Fall 2018. When you work so much, do you get overtime pay? I'm from CA and if you work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week you get time and a half for the overtime pay. Is it like that with the program? Cant wait to see more vlogs! :)
