Iberostar Selection Diar El Andalous Tunisia - food 2024

We have stayed in this hotel at the end of May 2024. The hotel itself is very nice and clean. Even the toilets near the lobby always smell good and are clean regularly. Complex has 2 main pools and 0.4m pool for smaller kids. NONE of those pools are HEATED. But due to the geographical location the pools were nice temperatures anyway. Even my toddler was swimming in the morning.
Food: food was really nice. Meals were rotated every evening so it did not got bored. There is lots of chefs at the restaurant who make the food in front of you - frying fish, making pasta, pancakes etc. The counter is cleaned on regular base so the food looks always presentable.
At the breakfast they do have freshy squeezed juices, croissants and variety of salads.
If you request something from the chefs, they are always happy to make it. We requested few meals during the stay for our toddler and every time they made it for us without fuss! My husband asked if they can put ice cream in the pool bar in the morning rather than from 12 in the afternoon and on the next day were in the freezer.

• Mini golf
• Spa is reasonable prices
• Indoor pool heated
• Sauna is free
• Staff is nice
• There is ATM at the hotel; you can also exchange money at the hotel
• Kettle and fridge in the room
Disadvantage:
• The hotel claim to be a family friendly but unfortunately the kids disco is one of the biggest disaster I have ever seen. It starts at 20.30 and there is no energy, does not seem to be fun. There is only one person who entertains kids. According to me the music was very quite too but this is personal opinion.
Disco is at different locations so you always need to ask staff where exactly is taking the place. One night it will be in conference room another time outside. Unfortunately, the outside stage is not designed for the kids - my toddler fell from the stage. Not sure how many other kids done the same. Also as the kids disco was taking part outside it did feel like it was created just to entertain the older generation who was staying at the hotel - personal opinion.
• There is a kids club at the hotel for kids 5+. But it did look run down.
• The evening entertainment for adults was failure too. Every night it was a dance show. Nothing special, nothing new.
• The air cone in the room was not working properly - it was blowing the air but not cold air
• Rooms were cleaned every day but coffee/tea were not given unless requested.
• Water is in glass bottles - which is good but its disadvantage when you have a toddler
• The bedroom tables do have glass sharp corners - not very safe for kids
• Water is not included in room service which means every night you need to take it from the bar; pool bar has water in plastic bottles
• Baby high chair not always clean
Overall, the hotel is nice but its definitely adult hotel rather than family hotel

Have a great time ! Not sure if I mentioned that on the video but if you will go on the hotel beach and turn left (right will take you to the town) and walk for around 30 or 40 min max you will get to another Iberostar hotel where you can use their facilities and eat 😀
