I stayed at the Lyndene almost, if not the exact same time day as you. I had a cracking time at the Lyndene. First let me point out that there is parking on both streets at the side with no restrictions and also further behind should you struggle. We were in our room straight away but they also have an option to retain your bags if the room is not ready and will put them in your room ready for when you come back. The hotel was actually at capaicity I believe in the week you stayed and I think they went above and beyond.for us as guests. Our room was factastic, Room 2 and with an amazing buffet style breakfast included in our room. we watched some incredibly brilliant live acts such as Ce Ce Monsoon and Ray does a brilliant live organ act. Nothing is too much trouble here
@@shaunlever8334 I should of shown an act etc but I just concentrated on the room and a little of the hotel, I to loved it though staff was amazing 😀☑️
@@shaunlever8334 when I say knock it down I mean the porch it’s no good for people who have difficulty walking or climbing stairs, yes they have a ramp at the side of the building but as you seen in the video poor lady struggling to get in, apart from that everything else is spot on and I’d def go back as well 👍
Supposed to be coming down soon as did St. Chad's hotel next door (both owned by foreign company) Making way for a 4 storey super hotel, linked by a bridge over the road that would join the two into one, gaining access from both roads via the bridge.
@ sadly no , only at my own expense, they must suffer damage all the time, people parked on the inside try to get out without having other cars moved can only end up with damage hay ho Russell
£30 a night for two! That's very good value. Never stayed but walk past it on a regular basis. They have very good live internment at night. Unfortunately as you have shown, the building is very dated and needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. Like someone else in these comments have said, once the new St Chad's Hotel next door is built, the Lyndene will be knocked down and rebuilt. But there is no sign of any building going on at St Chad's so who knows when that will be rebuilt, let alone the Lyndene. The Lyndene is a very popular hotel and very good value, let's hope the new Lyndene won't be too expensive xxx
@@bredaquirke7362 totally agree let’s hope it’s not too expensive, yes it’s dated it is just the front porch I thought needs soughting out but if they start to rebuild yea get it down and rebuild! 👍👍
Absolute shit hole with obnoxious reception staff , my car was blocked in for 4x hours on/after checkout and they tried to scam us for the parking charges . That was a good room we had a king size room i could reach both (peeling and damp) walls at once directly above a noisy outside bar area . Gotta say the public areas were very nice but not the rooms
The company which owns the Lyndene also owned St Chads (the blank space on the next block). My understanding is that they were going to build a new hotel where St Chads was. Once that is opened, they will demolish the Lyndene and build a new hotel on that site as well. That was the plan around a year or two back but I am unsure if this has changed since.
