What is the model of this Ibanez?

I used to call it "octave displacement", so I just learned a new term. To me, "pivot" referred to using a chord to change key, often a diminished 7th chord.

Thanks, this is very useful. It is true, however, that the chord connections/voice leading you demonstrate at the end are not unique to pivot arpeggios. They work exactly the same way for arpeggios that don't pivot. The only difference is the register in which the continuing line is played as it moves to the V chord.
