Yeah. Not just bleed, but also poison and fire. Those rate limits that he never upgrades (until way later in long runs like this) seem to be why all the DOT towers have usually been so weak for him (especially when placed close to the tower).
Kinda the same for me thought well with him releasing a bunch of vids and me being unable to buy it i kinda got stuck watching the vids so i pretty much lost interest in buying it
Me, on seeing runtime: "An hour and 15 minutes? Heh, wonder how many runs he has to make in that time?" Then, much later: *slowly takes off glasses* "...my god..."
An hour and 15 minutes is how I knew it was one Super-run; If he had one half-hour run he would've ended it there, so it being so damn long means the last run of the video lasted at least 45 minutes.
I've noticed that when you have splits, you tend to try to keep each path roughly the same length as you expand. This is good for mortars and other AoE towers since it makes enemies clump up more, but there's something to be said for staggering the bad guys out a little so single-target towers don't get overwhelmed and have more chances to chip away at the bad guys, apply dots, etc. It'd also let some of the weirder towers like shredders get more opportunities to send projectiles downrange. also, the fact that i can't find the OST for this game anywhere yet is extremely upsetting. i NEED that third stage music.
I was watching on a previous video and the tesla coil does do damage to every unit in its range. I think if you upgraded one it could be super useful vs shields.
AHHH, I cant wait for this game to come out! Some of my favorite genres are roguelikes and tower defense games. This game is both! Anyone know how much it is gonna cost yet?
I look for videos on it everyday myself. It looks like a nice game but I figure they'll make it a budget game, unless they are planning to fine tune it further. Can't expect it to cost more than around 5-20$ They'll really have to pull out some big stuff like 100+ levels and much more varied enemies and even bigger upgrade system to get the price go further, but as we've seen with Vampire survivors...it is a era of low budget high return games with even lower price cap. Vampire slayers being 3$, it was called a great deal because honestly the gameplay can go over 10 hours easily while you are absolutely drawn in trying to survive and flushed with dopamine effect. Gaming era is changing and indie games are pushing new fronts nowadays.
That run was absolute bonkers. Just incredible. Also, I feel so good knowing that I was right about encampments being an excellent tool to stops enemies that run past your units.
Havent watched the full video but I still have the question of 'does Encampment work like Perma Spike from BTD or not?' Depending on the answer it might be really good actually. Edit:They work exactly like the spike factory without the Long Life Spikes or whatever they were called BUT have absurd amount of damage. Kinda cool. Still buying the game when it comes out.
I think you prioritize too much on getting the elevation bonus over good tower placement. Have your towers cover as much track as possible. Covering different sections of the track is even better as they can shoot as the mobs pass once and then again on the second pass. The ballistas on the hill before the first split would have much better coverage on the low ground with the entire loop in range instead of just that small corner.
Honestly he has done fine, he beat the game. In his case most of the damage came from mortars so placing them in highest place was paramount. Best choice he made was upgrading existing skills rather than branching out massively and then using shredder to shred every lane so they got chopped up and softened even before they reached even remotely near the big defenses. While frost towers were literally icing on the cake, they truly game his towers ability to rain hell down. All in all great run, Great victory.
@@JGeMcL Mortars have both range and AOE, he just spammed alot of them and then upgraded it. I am pretty sure Majority of Damage came from that. That's the reason it worked very well. He upgraded both Ballista and Mortars. I believe this is why the damage never truly fell off.
@@ravishbhasin7041 Yep as seen by the last waves there are so many enemies that you want as much range as possible to both stack the damage and soften the enemies for the next tower. Mortars make it easier due to doing pin point AoE attacks. Based on how this run went I assume the sprayers work best when placing them as close to the spawn point as possible. The reason being that it lets the debuff stack deal more damage and it hits a lot more enemies at a time. Then placing them in a series such that there is a constant amount of damage being sprayed.
Perfect Tower is an incremental Tower Defense game that has features this one might benefit from. E.g. the ability to merge the next five waves into one
As far as I have seen the universities are useful when you find an end point for a lane, which you typically do by getting it cut off by another lane. Its hard to do but can be done. But... since the number of people able to play the game is minimal atm, there is so little data. Edit: The dev was in chat at the end and contradicted me so everything I thought was wrong. Apparently they have a chance to spawn late.
Yeah, the dev said 3% chance to spawn in the "hell levels" which I assume is 25-45 where the lighting and music changes for the first time. According to my math that means there's a ~47% chance to see one shrine in one run: 1 - 0.97^21 = 47.252...% Not great odds, but perhaps it's a meta progression thing
I think the haunted houses gain more tax income over time with each enemy killed nearby (possibly in the same tile?), which would make it worthwhile to place some turrets near the haunted houses targeting least health so that they gain more tax income. Could be wrong, but I *think* that's what the base death tax is
I think death tax is based on the amount of mana the haunted house used during the round and every 10ish mana is 1 death tax. The death tax is paid out resetting the haunted house to 0 at the end of the round or when you expand to a new tile.
@@kiefferdobson4830 if that were true then you wouldnt have houses next to the same number of graves paying out different amounts. You could be right about the reset-every-round thing though
@@ninjafroggie1 you and @keffer Whenever he got a new tile, he'd pick up 800 immediately after he got the graves. This expanded to well over 1.1k by the end
They only fire when an enemy is close, so if enemies don't get near the base then it moots their usefulness. They also have a random chance to go down different paths, so if you have a 2- or 3-way split that is short on several sides, it can limit the blade range some of the time.
Much better this time. You actually put towers in quite useful spots. Now next time improve your map as well, by trying to enforce spiral shape, instead of straight.
might need to split up the priority of your balistas so they are not all targeting the same enemy so the damage is spread a bit more and they can slowly gain more experience into specialities like armor and shields for late game
Is ‘Bleed them dry’ an active ability? Whenever you pick it it adds a little bleed icon that looks like a ‘buy tower’ button up under the tower HP. Couldn’t tell if it’s just to show the stats of the ability or it’s something you could buy/activate.
this is one reason i tend to not play TD games. They have a habit of being extremely slow waves because theyre so large or in this case have so far to move.

Looks like "bleed them dry" is a great pick because you're stacking thousands of bleed marks but the base damage cap per second is hella low.

It would be nice if you could choose out of 3 potential path tiles when it advances, or at least if there was a mode like that
Why the ballista next to the houses? some seems to be misplaced
The upgrades don’t appear in a Tangible way. You can’t see the impact that using upgrade has.
If saw blades keep going down the lane, wouldn't it be better to put them next to your base and let them hit every enemy on the screen each shot?

They have a pierce limit. Plus if they only shoot when the enemies reach your base, they'll likely fall off in damage from no upgrades
High ground gives them both extra range and more damage

It's just a symbol showing how much damage per second each type of damage can do per second
Those are the Stats of the Effects (Bleed, Flame, Posion) The number indicates the amount of base dmg/s dealt to enemies affected by it
