Another guy had his ribs broken after a hammer head came loose and hit him in the chest. They had to hide the broken ribs so that nobody would lose their safety bonuses. @theallymyst Nobody goes into this field of work as a first resort, unless they plan to work their life away to earn over double the starting pay. My dad has been in the oilfield for 21 years, starting because he couldn’t go to college because he had to drop out of school since his dad couldn’t work. His life sucked, but even with the risks, it was his only option since the only requirements for a starting position was being older than 18 and being able-bodied just enough to work outside. Fast forward a couple decades, he is now one of the most known and respected workers in his field, being in charge of ensuring the rig doesn’t blow up, being paid over 180k a year, company’s literally begging for him back when he goes to another, all because it was the only option to give his children a life that he didn’t have. He spends half a month on the rig at a time, and another at home, able to bond with his family. Next time, actually think before saying something stupid like this

    • @engene_plus_BUNNY
      @engene_plus_BUNNY 24 дня назад +5

The main reason some woman choose the bear over the man, is because you don’t know what man you’ll be dealing with. You could be put into a forest with your dad, who will keep you safe, or a father who abused you, assaulted you, or neglected you. Even worse, it could just be a man who would assault you if given the opportunity. Such as being in a forest…Alone. With no witnesses. While of course there’s not a zero percent chance that the man will just be normal, and you can work together to escape, most woman will rather not take a chance and deal with a bear, because they will not immediately attack you. It’s actually more common for them to flee, since they, like many other creatures, are scared of humans. As long as you’re not in their territory, or pose a threat to their cubs, they will not attack.
To summarize: there is no guarantee the man you’re paired with will or will not want to harm you. There is a higher guarantee that a bear will not harm you, so long as you leave it alone.

What happens when there is a hurricane or some other natural disaster? Men show up and fix and clean everything up. They get power restored, streets cleared, water back on and safe to drink, sewers flowing again so you can flush the toilet and shower, phone and internet going, stores resupplied by truckers, trash picked up etc. All of this is done 24/7 in horrible weather and very dangerous conditions many times away from home and family. I watched a coworker get cut in half when I was welding in Louisiana years ago installing Levee Water Bypasses (14 ton square boxes measuring about 15 feet by 15 feet).
We (8 welders, 2 welders assistants, and 2 crane guides) would stand inside the boxes with all of our gear waiting for each box to be set in place because we had a very short window to get it tacked in place. Once we started welding, sparks were flying everywhere for the next 8-10 hours until the valley (two beveled edges brought together) between each box was welded up (it took about 70 pounds of 5/32 rods per welder to finish just their section and tie ins).
One of the crane guides was calling in the next box and the operator swung too fast and smashed the box he was lifting into the one we were standing inside. The crane guides slipped and fell as the box bounced off ours and it came back and pinched him right at the naval. He lived long enough to call his wife and kids to say goodbye. He died before emergency crews could get there.
It was back to work the next day. The world keeps turning even if it kills us.

There is a reason why there is this saying that men die earlier than women, because they like the risks and adrenaline. Just choose a safe job like many women do. Such as becoming a doctor or engineer or programmer or teacher or baker etc.

I guess y'all weren't looking hard enough. Well first of all I worked on the docks with very rough fisherman. Bought their their catches everyday and lifted 60 and 70 lb. Burlap sacks filled with clams and mussels from the side of the dock on up into the truck. Worked in corporate for a little bit but then went and took a test to work with either Con Ed or Ma Bell. The last part of the test was being able to walk on the 2-in side of a 10-ft 2x4 and walked across it like I was walking on the sidewalk. They told me I could have my choice. I chose the phone company. It goes long before I made a pact with electricity. I don't bother you and you don't bother me. Now first I had to spend 3 weeks in training school and because of previous training where I worked as a physical therapy assistant and had lots of experience wrapping up amputees stumps. I did the part about wrapping up 8-in table cut off so well that the teacher asked me to train the guys. Then I had to go to Pole climbing school. Piece of cake. On the last day our test was to climb up a pole that was 4 ft taller than average telephone call. Now. Not only was it pouring rain but I had the flu. But I strapped on my spikes. Put the safety belt around the pole and actually set a record for climbing the pole fastest with no mistakes. My first week on the job and we had to go to a rough Street in Yonkers and I'm afraid the manholes had a little bad reputation. You know like occasionally they find a dead body. Didn't bother me in the least. Only thing I really didn't care for was what we called hole jelly. Nasty orange stuff and if you open the manhole and saw it, you know you were going to have to air out the hole for at least an hour because that stuff will kill you. Would have stayed forever but my manager was a racist and got me fired the minute a black friend came and picked me up. So back to the corporate world. Lasted a couple of years but man office politics is absolutely the worst. So I'm waiting on my unemployment and I got a kid at home who needs food sausage got a new work for me? He said yeah meet my helper. She was a woman. She didn't really care much about becoming a plumber, but I absolutely loved the work. She got fired for taking a break from the job we were on and going into the back of the truck and lighting up a joint. So then it was just me and the boss. Do you have any idea how heavy a 4-ft length of 3-in double hub of cast iron is? Used to carry one in each arm. Spent the last 20 years of my working life as a plumber and I'd still be working if I hadn't been diagnosed with a terrible disease and I had to stop working. In every job I did everything the men did and sometimes even more. Now I guess you're figuring I'm some 5'10 200 lb woman cuz only a big woman could do a man's job right? 5'6 and 135 lb. When I was younger would I have made an attempt to work on an oil rig? Hell yeah! And the last 10 years I saw a lot of female plumbers. So as I said, y'all just ain't looking in the right place.

Not sure why Underwater Welders didn't make this list, but whatever I guess:
TOP 10 MOST DANGEROUS JOBS ACCORDING TO OSHA
      according to fatality rate.
      1. FISHING AND HUNTING WORKERS
Fatal injury rate: 132.1 per 100,000 workers.
Fishing and hunting workers work with wildlife in a variety of aspects. They place traps, reel in catches through commercial fishing, and work on heavy machinery in order to follow through with their duties. These often hazardous conditions make this profession the most dangerous in the nation. Drowning is often the reason cited behind fatalities, but injury using heavy machinery can also contribute to deaths on the job.
      2. LOGGING WORKERS
Fatal injury rate: 91.7 per 100,000 workers.
Loggers work in forests and other outdoor environments. They are tasked with using heavy machinery to cut down trees to create raw materials including lumber, paper, and cardboard. Aspects of this profession that make it dangerous include conditions that require the use of heavy machinery and contact with dangerous objects. Injuries related to heavy machinery are the most common reason for fatalities in this field.
      3. ROOFERS
Fatal injury rate: 47 per 100,000 workers.
Being a roofer remains to be one of the most dangerous professions out there. Falls from either the roof they are working on or ladders they use throughout their job are the main reasons fatal injuries occur.
      4. CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
Fatal injury rate: 43.3 per 100,000 workers.
Construction workers are tasked with a variety of duties, most if not all of which carry a heightened level of risk of injury. Construction workers are exposed to an environment where things can fall on them or they can fall from great heights while they are working. Missteps on ladders and injuries using heavy machinery are common reasons that lead to fatal injuries.
      5. AIRCRAFT PILOTS AND FLIGHT ENGINEERS
Fatal injury rate: 34.3 per 100,000 workers.
Aircraft pilots and flight engineers were listed as the number two most dangerous jobs in 2018, but have since dropped in terms of a profession with the highest fatal injury rate. Fatal accidents in this profession commonly occur because of transportation incidents. While commercial airplanes remain to be incredibly safe, the most dangerous aspects of this job lie with private aircraft and helicopters.
      6. REFUSE WASTE AND RECYCLABLE MATERIAL COLLECTORS
Fatal injury rate: 33.1 per 100,000 workers.
Refuse waste and recyclable material collectors such as garbage men are exposed to a very difficult environment during their day-to-day routine. Injuries and fatalities typically occur among this workforce because of injuries involving heavy machinery on the trucks used. Because these workers often stop in the middle of traffic routes to collect trash, one of the most common reasons for fatalities in this field is because workers are struck by either the garbage truck or another vehicle.
      7. STRUCTURAL IRON AND STEEL WORKERS
Fatal injury rate: 32.5 per 100,000 workers.
One of the most common reasons for fatalities in this field is because of accidental falls, slips, and trips. Because these workers are tasked with constructing large structures using steel they are usually climbing on ladders, operating heavy machinery, or lifting, loading, and unloading steel. These duties all bring with them a variety of opportunities for accidental missteps to occur.
      8. DELIVERY AND TRUCK DRIVERS
Fatal injury rate: 25.8 per 100,000 workers.
Truck drivers, including small-scale delivery drivers, face hazards on the job because of motor vehicle accidents. Crashes remain to be the leading reason behind fatalities in this field.
      9. UNDERGROUND MINING MACHINE OPERATORS
Fatal injury rate: 21.6 per 100,000 workers.
Miners who operate heavy machinery as part of their job duties are at heightened risk for injury and fatality. Common reasons for fatalities to occur include incidents involving transportation, heavy machinery, and contacts with objects and other equipment.
      10. FARMERS AND AGRICULTURAL WORKERS
Fatal injury rate: 20.9 per 100,000 workers.
Farmers and agricultural workers operate heavy machinery on a regular basis. This heavy machinery is typically the cause behind fatalities in this field. Crashes involving tractors are one of the most common reasons workers in this field get killed.

Madam, but the world cannot exist without a woman who carries a baby in her womb for nine months and endures so much pain while delivering the baby. Generations continue through women. Marriage happens with women. Friendship happens with women. A woman gives birth to another woman. If a woman dies then a man marries another woman to carry forward his lineage. A woman should not be called bad. Women are great. That is why the role of women is most important in the development of the earth. A woman is not weak in any way. If someone became a great scientist, it was due to his mother's teachings. If there are great saints in our world, it is a woman who gave birth to them. Men and women have both, they're just different. I know a woman who works as a nurse, has two kids she constantly takes to games, and owns a franchise on the side. That's just one example. I know another woman who was the main parent of two kids, and was also the breadwinner of her family. Her husband's income was supplemental, and he was an aggressive dad who would talk down about her job to make himself feel better. But please, do go on...

I can see how that would look from a guy's perspective, and some women do choose to be SAHMs, and I think there is growing acceptance of SAHDs. I think it's a precarious financial situation for either gender, as if something happens in the relationship there is no safety net. It also is unpaid house work and childcare, and women are often expected to both work and take care of the kids, as one of the negative consequences of feminism makes a lot of women feel that they are not empowered if they just stay at home. In impoverished communities, women also have a high risk of the guy running and they have to work and take care of their kids. Studies show that men are much less willing to date single parents than women are. Yes, there are some unfair things for men, but there are also unfair things for women. We both have choices and responsibilities.

Here's a very brief overview of what you can expect when you make this old-fashioned apple pie at home:
Make the filling: On the stove, make a paste with flour and butter. Add the sugar and water and bring to a boil. Simmer, then remove from heat.
Assemble the pie: Press one crust into a pie plate. Place the sliced apples on the bottom crust. Use the top crust to make a lattice crust according to the recipe below. Pour the butter-sugar mixture over the lattice crust.
Bake the pie: Bake the pie in a preheated oven until the apples are soft and the crust is golden brown.

My father used to do industrial maintenance. One job was servicing generators. They did the hospitals. Every so often, they go, test run the generator and change the oil, etc. That generator was as big as a small house. You needed a ladder to get on top of it. It had oil filters that looked like logs. It was inside a concrete block shed. They had to test it and be inside with that hot engine in the St Louis summer, wearing polyester work clothes, and heavy boots. If you needed to go on top of it, you had to go up the ladder, in those heavy boots, carrying a 40 lb tool box with you.
Women that are physically strong enough for that are rare enough, but to do that kind of work day after day and not get immediately broken down, that's what's really rare
