NTK Club Race - Learning from Mistakes!

- This is the April Pre-Final at North Texas Karters (NTK) in Denton, Tx. I started 4th overall for this short 8 lap race. I made a mistake while passing #71 and learned pretty quick what not to do.

It's a bummer destroying a Chassis, but it's part of racing. Our series sees it if only 1 gets destroyed in a meeting that's pretty good. Our fields are 32+ karts with 1 second in Qually being the difference between Pole and 25th. One round in 2022 we had 9 chassis's welded up after the first part of the weekend, 2 straightened, 4 seats repaired/replaced a few axles bent and other parts replaced, post that weekend 6 chassis went in the bin. My main series is close racing, not much contact (some not a lot, just bent plastics), were pushing them to give everything the karts have. That's part of why I race with teams, not a kart owner these days. I used to go through 15-20 karts a year, not due to damage, but to get the extra competitive edge over rivals as karts get slower as they get older due to the flex.
Worked the flag-stand that weekend, and your comment about the day turning cooler is an understatement! I started the day in shorts and and a T shirt, by 5 pm was shivering with blue jeans, long sleeves, a hoodie, and a jacket!

What do you like better your Sodi or your OTK
OTK is much easier to tune. Sodi is making a comeback at the national level.
