Thank you very much! I’m happy with these paints ❤️ they are smooth but not too buttery and making details with them is pretty easy

Your videos have inspired me to use PastelMat with my oil pastels. I use both frequently, but never combined. I'm still in the early stages of my drawing but I already love how easy it is to layer or use colored pencils together with oil pastels.
Wonderful! I’m glad that it also works for you 😊 I was already used to Pastelmat because it’s what I paint on with my soft pastels and since it allows for so many layers I decided to give it a go with oil pastels and behaves very similarly with both mediums. That being said I’d like to try other papers too.

For oil pastel which gsm paper is good
I would say something sturdy, from 200 gsm is better but I use 80 gsm printing paper as well and no problem

what brand oil pastel are you using? and what brands do you recommend?
These ones were only Neopastel but I also use and recommend Sennelier and Mungyo. I have a video comparing four brands, that may interest you.

Me alegro mucho de ver , porque tantos años pintando y no saber la posibilidad de las barras de oleo
¡Yo tampoco sabía de ellos hasta este año! Aunque son pasteles al óleo, las barras de óleo son óleo en forma de barra y pintas con ella en lugar de usar un pincel pero se secan igual que lo haría la pintura que viene en tubo. Estos pasteles no secan nunca.

As a 13yr old amateur artist ,I oil pastels is the medium tat I most struggle with,maybe the lack of experience? Wrong paper? I'dk
But you are a huge inspiration for me! I would like to see you try drawing darker skin tones, a tutorial will help too ( if you wanted to) tysm

You can do it! Don’t be discouraged, I think oil pastels are the hardest medium I’ve tried too. Some are easier to control than others but still, they are not easy. You are very young and have forever to master whichever medium you want 😊 I’ve always found that paper is really really important, the paints too but less. I’m using Pastelmat but I’m gonna be trying more affordable options

@@YolandaBlazquez they list vendors on their website. So far, they have been good. They are similar to caran d’ach but there is some odor to them.

Thanks for subbing! ❤️ I’m not sure I can choose, I love both but now it’s so hot I don’t even want to touch my Sennelier’s and Neopastel feel much better. Also Mungyo Gallery are very close to Neopastel but I’m still performing lightfast tests so until I have the results I don’t feel confident using them for anything other than sketchbook work and sketches.

Stupid mosquitoes 🥲Do you think a good thing about having similar colours is that, since you "consume" the bars, you might end up using them anyways? So at least it's not a waste of money
No more mosquitoes until summer 😌 at least that. I don’t use those colors that much but I don’t think they’ll go bad so I have them as a backup 🤞🏻

Thank you 😊 it really depends, this one was quicker and was meant to be more simple and little more than a sketch so it took me a few hours. When I do more blending and want to have a more polished painting it takes longer. I know that the painting for my last tutorial took me 8 hours to complete because I had to go slowly through them to edit them 🤣 so I guess that’s about right for oil pastels for me for something about A4 size.

@@YolandaBlazquez si puedes, en subtitulo, o si puedes en tus redes ahí si puedes hacerlo en tantos idiomas que desees, pero ya hay un presedente con respecto a al mismo material en otros ideomas y es "luisito comunica".
Pero de todas formas me gusta ver tus pinturas, 😃.
