HAIYA may have Sennelier beat in opacity, but open stock and lightfastness are definitely in Sennelier's favor. I'd love to try these even though I don't use oil pastels~ ✨ The portrait you painted was very beautiful and the flower looks very real with the 3D texture!
Muy buena comparación. Veo mucho parecido entre Sennelier y Haiya. Yo uso Sennelier y Neopasteles. Por ahora seguiré con Sennelier como mi marca principal. Tu pintura te quedó hermosa y me gustó la manera como usaste la espátula, es muy interesante. Gracia por compartir 🌻🌻🌻
Thank you this was exactly what I was looking for and couldn’t find. I have 3 Paul Rubin’s sets already and I love them! I love how creamy they are but I didn’t know how this new set differed or if I should just save up for senneilier. I’m still undecided on that point but if it looks like they are going to do a bigger set I’m gonna at least hold out for that. Money doesn’t necessarily get you the best or a least the best for YOU. When I decided that no this is not another art supply that I’ll use for a week and spend the rest of eternity in a draw. I got Caren Dache neopasetls and I’m sure someone will come after me for saying this but I don’t like them! Give me my Paul Rubin’s any day.
Thank you so much for sharing your oil pastel experience! I totally agree with you about the price. Expensive products are not necessarily good for me. If you like Paul Rubens, I think you would like Haiya, too. 😃💕🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this review! I've been looking everywhere for it. This set of Haiya oil pastels seems interesting. I hate the look of some of the greens, but I like that they have some very dark colours.
I've been way too busy to enjoy any YT content lately. But watching this now to calm my morning journey in a train 😊. Nice artwork and soothing music, thanks! I like the PR macaron set but didnt buy the other full one. I also have Sennelier and Caran dache but my favorite still is Mungyo. Its white sucks but thats okay as I can use the sennelier white. Maybe you could comment more about the quality and difference between the whites of Haiya and other sets? ❤
Thank you so much for your positive feedback! I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and I’m touched that you found it so helpful! 🥹💕 Haiya is very similar to Sennelier except the price and quantity. If you like Mungyo over Sennelier, you may still like Mungyo’s texture over Haiya’s.😊
8:12 I use a small kitchen candle to heat up my oil pastels to make impasto easier. Here you used paper stump to get a small paint from the oil pastel stick, great idea. I always use painting knife just like you when you painted the flower later. This brand of oil pastel is not available, and honestly we have a hell lot Sennelier, Mungyo, Van Gogh, Kohinoor, Pentel, Sonnet just to name the brands I have. The oil pastel techniques you demonstrate are fantastic. BTW, what is the name of that pad under your paper with the grid lines? Thank you so much.
What?? 🤯 I didn’t know that!! Thank you so much for sharing a fun and informative technique!! Gotta try using candles.🔥 The Pad is “Dahle Vantage Self-Healing Cutting Mat” from Amazon. Thank you for sharing your experiences!! 🙏🏻💕😍
@@FunGreem I hold the tip of the pastel stick close to the flame of the candle usually 1 second is enough and I have 5 seconds to use the melted small part to apply on the paper. Often, I heat up the painting knife a bit to get a small blob from the pastel stick tip.
Thank you for this video. So... does this mean they actually make their product better? Cause I had the original (the 2 boxes) and I ended getting rid of them. They didnt blend well, lots of gummy sticks, the greens were trouble, and they had a very, very dark blue, that was so beautiful but it was so gummy I was dissapointed. It was a shame cause I bought them double to have back up sets since they dont sell open stock, and it was a waste of money.
Hi Vey Stone, Yes HAIYA is better than their previous oil pastels. I don’t have the original Paul Rubens but I heard that Paul Rubens Macaron set are better than original and I think HAIYA is better than Macaron set for sure. 👍🏻 And I know how you feel. I also have 2 Pentel artists’ oil pastels but barely used it because of my drawing style.💸💸🥲 Thank you so much for sharing your story and your kind words! Warm regards! 🙏🏻💕
Oh no 🙉 For us, Amazon is the more reliable website to buy… 🥲 sorry about that and thank you for sharing with me! I never have bought anything from Aliexpress so don’t know whether to trust the website or not.
Why does Sennelier produce some cololrs that are so patchy and call it transparent? A text marker is transparent! I mean Sennelier is the priciest brand and normaly the cheapest oil pastels look patchy. Or are these "transparent" oil pastels are good for a special use?
I haven’t experienced patchiness with Sennelier oil pastels, but some artists find that the transparency of these oil pastels is useful for glazing. 😊🙏🏻
Of course, it's not the same, Sennelier oil pastel has more colors and the quality is still one of the best. During the review, I felt that Haiya had the most similar texture and shape to Sennelier among others. And this is my experience and it can be different from yours. 😊

Yes, I agree with you about the differences between HAIYA and Sennelier!! 😊 Thank you so much liking my drawing and your kind words!! 🙏🏻💕
I think this dude is bummed because he spent $300 on Sennelier then these come out 🤭
Great artwork, i enjoyed watching your demo 😍
Thank you for sharing the review of this oil pastel, its very helpful!
My pleasure!! Thank you so much for liking this and your kind words!! 🙏🏻💕

This is beautiful! What is the large object you used on the painting at 10:01? Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words! The large object was a large blending stump that I used for blending oil pastels. 😊💗🙏🏻
Amaaaaazing paint! Thank you!❤
Awwwww thank you so much for liking it!! 😍💕🙏🏻
Thank you for the review and your beautiful portrait. I wish I had ten per cent of your skills.

they keep removing them from Amazon, I saw them for sale on Aliexpress, but I don't know whether to trust the website

Issue with the original Paul Rubens is just some stickiness and inconsistency. These HAIYAs are perfect.
Yes, They indeed improved the quality! 💖🙏🏻👍🏻
Wonderful share
Thank you so much!! 💕🙏🏻
THESE ARE NOT IN SAME CATAGORY AS SENNELIER OIL PASTELS DONT KID YOURSELF.. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR....

I have both sets they are definitely very very similar to sennilier
