11 years later, this game continues being a masterpiece
I feel quite ashamed that I found out about it recently
"Limbo" and "Inside" are truly amongst the greatest video games of all time.
What a games
@@smokemirror1583 what a games indeed
what a emotions
I listen to this when thunderstorms are around. It reminds me of the inevitability of loneliness. And I don't know why that makes me love it so much.
No lonely only hugs
The coldness of the rain accompanied by wind and darkness from the clouds while playing this music on earphone. Absolute bliss for an introvert like me
For thunderstorms I recomend "Cthulhu - A Cryo Chamber Collaboration". Even it is not rain, you will feel cold and strong wind nearby, with the rain, and hidden threat.
Because when you’re truly alone, you’re in touch with the source, Consciousness- which carries no negative emotion.
Same here. It also it gives me a bit of an apocalyptic vibe, like something happened that made life feel like Limbo.
This game...*sheds a tear*...so beautiful... ;(
Atomic_Thomas is it on PS4?
it's on steam
Kristi S Thanks
@@Gunner226225 My dad played it on the Xbox about a decade ago.
Stardown I’m a PS guy hehe
This was a beautiful soundtrack. Very ominous and dark yet so thought provoking and lonely.
This game was, is, and always will be beautiful...the sound track puts me into a focus, a tranquility, at peace with myself. The ominous feel mixed with the nostalgia removes the pains and hardships of life, but doesn't deny them...it acknowledges them, and makes them subside...it's pure. Music like this calms me, helps me, put me at peace like nothing else. It's like it is telling me it's all ok. In this moment, everything is alright. Forget about everything you have to do, forget about all the things you feel, just relax and breath. I love this game, I used to watch my dad play it as I was ten in 2013...those 2013 nights will be with me till the day I die...this soundtrack is incredible...god I love this game so much.
And while I am at peace, I ask none other than to not be disturbed.
Also this reminds me of Blade Runner kinda lmao
@@extraordinarytv5451 me pasa lo mismo con este mix de limbo, pero tambien con el synthwave en blade runner.
Sale shit but with my grand sister in 2011 🥹
Gravity Jump is the best track on the album imo
Yeah I think that’s pretty much a fact. The others are good as well, but this one is just honestly perfect
Agree
its a 9/10 but the "menu" for me its 10 on a loop, i put it for almost everything
Everything about the first song reminds me of the last moments you have with an old friend: the bittersweet nostalgia of the good times you had. The fear of the unknown ahead, and the sadness of the moment now. It makes me feel aware of the pain of life, that it isnt the way things should be, but it is. And in the end when you have to say goodbye to thise you love all you can say is "thank you for going through it all with me."
ITS SO DARK AND EMOTIONAL! I NEED PLAY THIS GAME!
Gabbe C i need to play you
I've played the game and it's AMAZING
@@jonathanluzgonzalez7510
I'm sure it is. It's been 4 years and I haven't played it yet, but it seems to have the same vibe as the game "Inside".
Hauntingly beautiful
@@gabriela_xy you still haven't vplayed it?
@@jonathanluzgonzalez7510 Not yet 😂
This game was ahead of its time with the soundtracks ,gameplay and everything. Honestly this game would stay in my heart for ever.
Music like this keeps me pushing forward when everything seems like it's over for me and when I feel like I want to end it all.
Rotating Room 09:05 is terrifying!
brings up such suspension in that level - love it!
I listen to this every night helps me sleep during the pandemic, makes me feel at peace
yea
This game is perfection.
13 years... And still...let's just say... We are also stuck in a "Limbo".... Couldn’t break throughout that barrier...
I got all the achievements a year back on mobile version and unlocked all secret levels too🎉. That last dark level was too hard but it was worth it..
The spinning saws, in the Gravity Jump sound like they're not even attached to anything! They just sound like they're flying, freely through the air!
...?
What do you mean "?"
!
What do you mean "!"
EliteWizzerd946 Haha I see you all have fun and enjoy yourselves! ;)
This game holds its own to this day. Wonderful
what a game, what a music.
This music is like waking up from a coma and starting life over again from the beginning! So unreal and majestic!!! Just beautiful 😞🥲👍
You're welcome!
it wasnt a game, it was art, and you enjoyed it
Alright, nicely done. I see you have proper divisions in the audio so we can see the titles of the tracks. That in itself gets you my thumbs up.
With the first song, the menu theme, there's this indescribable feeling I get that I cannot put into words
No other song makes me feel that...
Boy's Fort:
This makes you feel like "Uh oh, they know I'm here" but in a subtle way, it's just those low, and high horn like sounds, very fitting for when this song plays
City:
Plays when the first hotel sign appears, halfway through the game, the first few seconds sounds like electrical distortion, which gives this feeling of danger, because, you're near electricity of course
Rotating Room: Well, you just made a stupid decision, because the world is rotating around you the first part is deep, and ominous, as lot's of machinery is likely at work here
Buzzsaw part: You are depending on a box, and two chains, one slip up and you're DONE
Sister: After the buzzsaw part where you just survived what seemed like a death sentence, this song plays, it makes you feel like "it's over... for now"
This song continues as you approach some peculiar mirage of your sought after sibling, but, it's all torn away because a wormi thinks your brain is just succulent, you're driven to the left, and then back to the right, only for there to be loud, aggressive pulverising mechanisms in place of your loved one, making you question if this place is just going to drive you in circles forever
Gravity Jump: A mysterious possibly massive gravity box emits a far, low pitched timer noise, sending you up and down, this section is all about timing, as you best this machines attempts to stop you,
Once you get to the final level, that ticking feels like it's representing respawning almost, tick tick tick tititittt- die, then again, fitting, this part is all about timing as i said, which, you'll die alot if it's merely your first few tries, This song is a very good final stretch song as it sounds like the first song you hear, making you look back on everything you've done that's lead up to this
Why is Limbo simply the best game in existance?
So emotional :(
Beautiful OST video. I love the track names on screen and the screenshot slideshow.
You're welcome! Thank you for your support! :)
I appreciate the fact that you used RUclips's chapter/division system to separete the songs here, even if this video was uploaded about 8 years ago.
Insane that this game was released 11 years ago. What an experience it was back then, but I can finally appreciate the music and atmosphere with proper headphones. I'm definitely playing this game again.
Almost 13 years ago, damn
I love how this game ended. Beautiful. Cyclic. Just played it for first time while on break from med school. Really captivates the isolation and challenge I feel in my psyche during these hard times. A good and healthy way to escape!
I still cannot believe I beat the game with only 2 deaths. So many retries.
Fun fact:Martin Stig Andersen used a human skull to make this soundtrack and the vibrations were to intense that some teeths break away from the skull
When gravity jump started playing 3 years ago, I felt sad, knowing this is the end, happy for it happened, and confused at the end.
Just letting you guys know that we're still playing this in 2022
We will be in 2024
...
2024 and still play it what a game😢
Me 2024 i finnaly finnished the game yesterday i finnaly got past the impossible part with the train and the electric floor tears were shed people~♧◇♡♤ but still best game ive plaed and best soundtrack
18:28 to 19:42 its my favorite part.
this is art
I love all Martin Stig's work. But this was first and that is why special! Also like to replay Limbo and Inside from time to time.
Everything exists for a reason......even this soundtrack proves it........................
Alberto Cortez how?
I've listened to albums by professional dark ambient artists that could not match this soundtrack.
Ivo van der Avert Could you give me some artist names that are similar to this?
Any album by Thomas Köner is a good start, but Daikan and Nuuk are notable highlights. Daikan is a 55 min long masterpiece consisting of bass drones only, magically mixed and layered rendering pure headphone-music. "Nuuk" was recorded in Greenland's eponymous capital. Then there's Kammarheit (dark stuff, check "The Ruins and the Serene"), Gustaf Hildebrand, and Biosphere (all Nordic, no surprise). Biosphere is an ambient master, but most of his work does not classify as dark, Autour de la Lune is a notable dark and minimalist piece, inspired by the silent film of the same name. Martin Stig Andersen, the composer of this score has made standalone pieces, the most notable are Rabbit at the Airport I-III, but they are more eclectic and dissimilar to this score. Finally, there's a largely unknown act called Sleep Research Facility, whose albums Deep Frieze and Nostromo (inspired by the vessel from the Alien movie) are really worth listening. I will add some links below to particulary good pieces.
Ivo van der Avert Hey, thanks man. I assure you I'll check any artist cited by you. I already have acrossed with some Thomas Köner stuff, but not the whole album. Again, thx very much. If you add the links, i will be grateful.
You're welcome!
Oh, and an interesting way to get to know new stuff is the site Secret Thirteen. They provide a platform for all kinds of artists from upcoming to well-known. They frequently release mixes by DJ's who make compilations of their "musical DNA". Now a lot of this stuff is not ambient in the strict sense of the word, but you can get to know a lot more new acts since the playlists are provided with the mixes. They are likeable on Facebook.
Sister is so so so powerful. Beautiful ambient music
This song only feeds my emptiness
Legend game and al legend music
all tracks are good, but the best is gravity jump, it got that menu track notes and the *beep.beep.bebbebebebEBEBEBEBEBEBEEEE*
Magnificent. Thanks for Sharing.
The soundtrack was made with human skeleton parts

Burned into my soul lmao I miss this game so much.
Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) could totally have made this soundtrack! it reminds me a lot of Selected Ambient Works 2...
Thanks a lot
play this if u really want to know how i feel
I only just realised the menu theme is the same as the gravity jump theme. I wonder what that means for the lore of the game 🤔
Remember everything

Fun fact : the sounds where made with a human skull
didn't he use a skull for Inside?

does anyone know the key signature of rotating room? I'm doing a thing for school but I can't find anything
You can resemble it as like, sometimes we find ourselves in a complete opposite situation that we didn’t expected, but still, try to adapt with that opposition and get over it, the time passes and situation gets more and more inversed, but then we become habituated and go on with our lives.
Sorry, ik Your project might have been ended, but I thought that you may find it interesting.
