I had a super quiet cul-de-sac for 20 years. Just recently I had many new people moving in the cul-de-sac with loud kids. Still people stayed clear of me because of my PTSD, and I did not appreciate those families with children whatsoever. One day I came up to a group of kids in the middle of the street seething, i was mad, but when i looked down the children were drawing pictures of cute things with chaulk on the street, I got down on my knees and drew pictures with them for a couple hours. Best therapy ever. Now Im the most known and favorite man on the block. Love, dont hate. And those new families watch my house and vehicle for theft etc, and sometimes I get a free pie.

My across the street neighbors had a young adult son who was always freakishly annoying with shockingly loud noises, often for hours on end... riding non-street legal ATVs just back and forth for hours that are modified to be loud, because he's scared if he goes for a real ride, the cops will see. Bumping music at 3am, so much nonsense. But you know what? If you stew over it, you suffer. If you just take it as what it is and don't get mad, you get by just fine. Who wants to be beefing with their neighbors? You got to live right next to them! Thankfully they have finally moved and it's wild, this is mixed zoning area and even with a factory and a construction yard and a warehouse being actively expanded all within a stones throw, it's quiet now compared to when they were here lol
So so many opportunities to arrest that woman BEFORE this happened...no one including the house manager did anything. Nothing! They just let this vile creature continue to terrorize everyone! This case is outrageous!

Currently on a beach vacation, I get in the pool and a large group of kids gets in. They’re playing a bunch of water games and splashing around and I have hearing devices that can’t get wet. My first thought wasn’t even to politely ask them not to splash, I got up and left the pool because, they are kids on vacation in the pool and I am one person. I use to be a hard-core splasher when I was a kid.
@@cajbafI missed the part where he said he paid for a private pool. When you pay to use public space you deal with the norms of that public space. In case of a pool, that means splashing, noise, jumping, laughter. You don’t get to dictate all that stop because you paid to be in that space, and because of that everyone (who also paid for that space) must conform to your comfort. The poster had hearing devices that are not water proof, and it’s his responsibility to make sure his non water proof device doesn’t get wet at a pool. That’s not the responsibility of the other patrons enjoying the pool.

The officer who stayed to help console the family is golden. When that child said, “I hate her, I hope she stays in jail forever,” I felt that to my core.
She could have played with them or even invited them into her home so she could get to know them maybe teach them not to be loud at all hours of the day but instead she choose to pull her gun out and murder their mother, which would do nothing to stop kids playing on the lot because its not her lot.
She told the officers she works from home and couldn't hear her customers with the noise outside. I know for a fact wearing a headset to take her calls would have been enough. Shame on her.

Currently on a beach vacation, I get in the pool and a large group of kids gets in. They’re playing a bunch of water games and splashing around and I have hearing devices that can’t get wet. My first thought wasn’t even to politely ask them not to splash, I got up and left the pool because, they are kids on vacation in the pool and I am one person. I use to be a hard-core splasher when I was a kid.

In case of a pool, that means splashing, noise, jumping, laughter. You don’t get to dictate all that stop because you paid to be in that space, and because of that everyone (who also paid for that space) must conform to your comfort. The poster had hearing devices that are not water proof, and it’s his responsibility to make sure his non water proof device doesn’t get wet at a pool. That’s not the responsibility of the other patrons enjoying the pool.
