We found another first for me! We found a beautiful 1943 DDO Silver Nickel in mint state condition! Plus, we found other goodies like silver nickels and even a Buffalo Nickel.
I love coin roll hunting nickels for Silver Nickels, Buffalo Nickels, Proof coins, Old Jefferson Nickels (namely semi-key and key date nickels), Liberty V Nickels and 2009's for their low mintage.

My Grandma died today, so I must drown my sorrows in RUclips, as one naturally does. This video reminded me of the silver dollar my grandma gave me years ago. It's an 1881-CC in G4 or F condition. It's worth a lot of money, but I'll never sell it. Thank you for putting out content I can enjoy

I just bought my first set of 1943 nickels. Of course they weren't special but I'm happy to have them.

You don't check for 1940 DDO?
Nope. Another variety not recognized, but any very nice nickel is eventually carefully scrutinized in my collection and I do keep any AU or better nickels from 1970 and earlier.

If you pay IGC $7 they will research and add your variety to their catalog if they believe it to be genuine. IGC also has no minimums for submissions and no membership fee. Yes, I know an IGC slab isn't as reputable as NGC or PCGS, but it's something.

Rob, I am flabbergasted!!! I found a gorgeous 43-S in AU 50-55 condition a while back. I even posted it on JW's discord when I found it. When I saw your find I figured I should at least check my own, AND IT IS ALSO A DDO!!!! I'M IN SHOCK!!! Thank you, because I would have never looked for it if I didn't watch your video!!!

You should get it graded at anacs, they’ll attribute basically any variety.

It is a 1921 based on the hair detail and hair ribbon shape.
I would get that DDO graded very nice find

Scored a 1939S, 1943S, 1944S, 1945S, and a 1934D Buffalo. Besides a few collection dumps, it was one of my best boxes. Almost a full run 1938-1959 only missing 1938, 1950 and 1951. Once again, love your videos and commentary.

Speculation for thought; I feel like I definitely saw a 7 or 8 as the fourth digit, and the third I feel like was a one. Could be a teens for a slick as it is! But I'll go with your decision and call it a '28!

I got 2 rolls from a local coin dealer both San Francisco I found 1 1943 S - wddo-1 I sent it in even though I knew what it was but came back ms65 and the steps are so close to being full on the reverse

That buffalo is definitely a 1928. They didn't make Buffalo nickels at Philadelphia in 1938.
