the lancer is still the most sporty, best price, best reliability and the most important thing the lancer doesnt look gay like a civic or corolla. lancers are for men unlike the other 2 wich are focused on old men and women in general.
You kids are something else. You have no idea what it was like about 20 to 30 years ago when it came to buying a base model automobile. I mean give me a break. What you rare describing in this video would have been considereda mid model range car, and something that would have been priced far more expensive. BAK UP CAMERA- give me a break. This is an item that was just introduced pretty recently, we never had them in the past, and we always had to do without them. We never had much problems, in parking or backing up, we used a human feature called "imagination" and was able to guide the car around obstacles without hitting anything. DAYTIME RUNNING LED LIGHTS- For sure you have no idea how many people in the world would rather not have them, they use up battery power, and eventually its just more ligths you have to replace, which I have to say are now gettng harder to replace such a light. LED SIDE VIEW MIRROR LIGHTS - You would have found this luxury item on something like a Cadilac, Lincoln, or a Mercedes. You never have had it on an economy car, especially a base model, so having them on this car is a blesssing. CLOTH ARM RESTS - Hell you had to make sure your car was not a base model, to get away from as much pplastic or rubber as you can. To find that option is only going to eventually be worn away by use over time. 26MPG - Though I agree many manufacturers can do better nowawdays, many of the older cars, actually get less milage than this including todays larger cars. To have a car with this milage is a reasonable alternative to many of the gas guzzlers of other manufacturers. AUTOMATIC DRIVER SIDE WINDOW - Again only luxury models would have this feature, in fact a base model wouldnt even have power window, they would have been manual, and not to mention the door locks, manual too. You got a very good deal here when it comes to having a bas model that is all electric. RADIO WITH CD PLAYER - First of all, in base models you never got a radio, it was considered a luxury item. Over time, if you did get one standard, it was a radio without a player. The middle model would have the option player, and it was not for CD's it was a cassette player. So that is just ridiculous. OUTSIDE TEMP INDICATOR - I mean give me a break, the way we knew it was cold is by either putting a thermometer in the car or judging by our own skin. CRUISE CONTROL - Its hard to believe and it was an option you can add to your vehicle, but many times the base model never had cruise control. You would have to learn the art of jamming your foott up against the pedal, and your knee against the side of the car to keep the pedal down, on long trips. A/C AND HEAT - Many times our idea of getting cool in the car, was to roll the windows down, and drive 40mph. That was the only way you could cool down the car. Heat was more available in a base model, but not the A/C. KEY FOB - Oh yeah last and not least, we never had the option of pointing a FOB at the car, and opening the doors, trunk or panic button. We would have to use the keys everywhere, and if we did come up against a person who would try to kidnap you, we were taught to hold our keys between our fingers, and use it like a brass knuckles. I can say for all the complaining you do for this car, you need to appreciate what you do have in front of you. You cant always have what you want. And for anyone who can forward a better car, wouldnt even look at a base model Mitsubishi Lancer ES. But someone who might need a ride that will take to work, or school, without causing too much and is reasonably economical, as well having the luxurious options it has. The Mitsubishi Lancer ES, base model, is pretty damn fine car.
The Lancer is not a compact, it will get much much mileage on the highway. It has a great package and a decent price. I see them discounted under 15 grand. Cannot beat that in this class. I would take it over a Corolla. But it is priced like one, if not better.
None of its competitors has a rearview camera as a standard equipment, and 27 mpg as a real fuel consumption its average for the segment, no bad at all. You forget to mention the 10/100 powertrain warranty, that its one of the best in the segment.
Camerons Car Reviews Yeah, since and after the 2015 model year only; but with A/T CVT tranmission, the Civic cost 21K. Lancer ES with CVT cost 19,500. You can get the GT with 2.4 and CVT at 22,200. And surely you can get rebates to get down the MSRP of the Lancer to less than 21K. And the GT model its far far better car than the Civic, the only advantage for me, in the Civic, it's the MPGs. But in the red to green lights, the Lancer will swallow dust on the Civic.
Gustavo José Pérez López The Lancer over all is really outdated and just isn't up to date with any modern amenities, most buyers wouldn't touch this car in there right mind. I mean there is no reason to when you have ten years better sedans with high quality features. Which this car does not have/offer. The engine really isn't that great either, I would just go buy a civic and enjoy my modern day amenities rather than going back to 2008. Just my overall opinion and Mitsubishi is on there last legs of business anyways, its only a matter of time before they go out of business because of lack of sales. They don't know how to stay on top when it comes to shifting car metas, and having a car company you need to know how to shift designs to stay on top and that is where Mitsubishi fails sadly, Really the only vehicle in there line up that is half decent is the Outlander, and even then i would take any other car company rather than Mitsubishi.
Gustavo José Pérez López It is really mind boggling that the fact the lancer is 19,500 for basically nothing. I mean even a Hyundai accent gives you more modern amenities, and if your looking for the engine power in the lancer im sorry but im not paying 19,500 for the low key power from it, it dosnt make me go OMG i need that car. Its a bare boned car from 2008, i will gladly pay 22,200 for a brand new civic with safety and up to date current amenities that every car has these days.
@@ThatCarGuy2 Oh I still love it after almost two years already! I plan to get a new car fairly soon though. Got it at 73,500 miles, and it has around 77,500 now.
@@ThatCarGuy2 What state do you live in? Maybe you can have mine. LOL It runs very well. There’s nothing wrong with it. (Definite road noise, but that doesn’t bother me)
That center console storage's 12v outlet is always active. Do not leave any device connected to it. Or if you can drive your Lancer everyday to avoid draining the battery since it recharges the battery when engine is running, then you can use that for your dash cam. You will then have an instant 24-hour dash cam recording. LOL
148 HP, tons of torque? Under 15 grand (that is current pricing left over from last year). The 2.5 raises the price. This car is extremely competitive for it's segment. Nissan Sentra has nothing on these and is kind of dated as a new design. 34 mpg is okay, 27 mpg is not all that uncommon in the city.
Camerons Car Reviews I like the Mitsubishi Lancer and i would like to buy one..but before i do i would like know..is Mitsubishi Lancer a good car to buy?? Does Mitsubishi Lancer Have a lot of mechanical problems?? Is Mitsubishi a good car Model to buy?? I need there's three questions answer
MrGovenator1 Not sure Id agree, Civic interiors are at least as cheap as Mitsubishi's, Mitsubishi has the better look/aggressive, better handling, stronger engine/more hp and isn't as common as lint like the Civic. Plus the last 3-4 years of Civics have been butt ugly/no style. Just my opinion but the Lancer is also less $ and it also has a drivers knee airbag which makes it safer too, that isn't even offered on the Civic. Id rather drive something that everyone and their brother doesn't own.

The Mitsubishi Lancer is in need of a serious redesign, the look of it is very dated and just isn't appealing at all. The ES is the base trim now, they eliminated the DE trim.
