** Note check your local Network requirements - In Qld a dedicated EV charging circuit, in a single phase install, should be installed on a controlled time of use tariff 33 or be placed on a 20 amp limited supply. **

I'd like to share my experience with my local installer in Israel, "Gnrgy".
They also manufacture the charging points. The charger supports up to 3 phase 32 amps (22kwh)
currently attached as single phase 32 amp with 7 kwh. The cable had to be routed on the parking lot fence around the building, over a neigbor's yard and into the building's main wall box. That was about 70 meters of cable. At the box they put a breaker and meter and I pay the maintenance company separately for that electricity.
The down side is the charger has no user accessible controls at all, and any change has to be done through phoning the company.
My brother bought an electric car (Geely geometry C) that supports 3 phase, so now I need to call them and get it connected and set up for that.
The charger has been installed 2 years ago and works flawlessly so far, if a little sun bleached.

You mentioned there was a place online that could do up cables for the wattpilot eg 3 phase to single phase, 3 phase to 15A Caravan, 3 Phase to 10 normal 240v socket. Thank you

Hi Cassie, yes it's ElectroTraders, link is shown early in the video. There are others around but I have used these guys and always had good service and quality products. They can custom make leads if not listed on website, just email them for a quote.
FYI - I don't have any agreement or receive any kickbacks from these guys, just happy to recommend as a satisfied Customer. 👍

@@ElectricCarAustralia I'm looking for the 10a basic home plug to 3 phase socket and 15a long earth plug to 3 phase.... Nothing comes up. That way it can be used in a motel and caravan park.

A nicer solution would have been a second parallel single phase socket with a 5 pin outlet but using only single phase, so no jumper cable required.

Agree, but allowed under Qld wiring rules as mentioned in videos and show Notes.

Hi Greg. Please upload video 3 with the testing of the charger and app. I'm close to ordering one but want to see how well it works on solar aware mode.

Hi Gary, thanks for your patience. I spend all weekend editing this video, got to the end and found the sound had dropped out so will have to re-record the last part sometime through the week then finish the editing. Hope to have live publicly by next Sunday evening.
Patreon 'Passenger' and above, and Ko-Fi 'Guru' and above members will have access as soon as I finish it. Cheers Greg

Hey Greg, I can't for the life of me find this 3-pin to 5-pin adapter cable on ElectroTraders. Have you got a link to the actual product page?

    • @ElectricCarAustralia
      @ElectricCarAustralia  Год назад +1

Hi Justin, give them a call, explain what your using it for and how long you want the cable. They will then usually create a link to order that exact adapter.
They advised there is so many different combinations it's difficult to have a product page to cover them all. Cheers.

Great video. What size circuit breaker did you get installed in your switchboard for the 32amp socket. 32 or 40 amp rcbo.

You could have installed a 5 pin outlet, and only just power it for single phase. Then you don't need an adapter, it will still pick it up as a single phase socket.

Hi A, thanks for the comment. This has been suggested multiple times in other video comments however is illegal under Qld wiring rules. Please Subscribe to the Channel, I would love to have you join.

Hi, I'm currently studying the Qld Wiring Rules as part of my apprenticeship and I think I missed that part, could you nominate the specific clause(s) that make it illegal?.

@@nickdp5558 hi Dipper, you'll have to ask an Electrician. Three different Sparkys have told me this so I'm assuming it's correct.

Not many EV's can charge at 22kw AC these days. So could be a waste of effort.

doesn’t even need an electrician to install it which is a plug type equipment. Doesn’t look great either.
