- How close do you drop a trailer next to another trailer? The Sunday Rant wants to know. In a basically empty yard why do some drivers not consider that another driver may need to crank the legs up? Of course not. We don't care about anyone else. Just do whatever is more convenient for you even if someone else has problems with it. A driver with a few months and a few decades are not the same.

THAT'S NO ROOM! IVE HAD TO PULL THE TRAILER UP TO GET THE LANDING GEAR UP. GOOFBALL AIN'T THE WORD
We live in an "It's all about ME society" today. I fully agree with you on so many things. Today, I had to stop a young driver and make him apologize to the Love's girl for cussing her. I told him to say that to me. He didn't, and he apologized to the girl. He said he was "just frustrated"!! Thanks for your channel. 👍💪🚛🇺🇸
Sam as the guy who takes a shower while parked in the fuel lane
Because it’s being selfish, very few people stop to think or care about helping out your fellow drivers. It’s really sad what’s become of society any more.
Shippers do the exact same thing
Here's another problem you might address Mark: accidents are rising fast with big trucks being at fault. With freight so crappy, I'm willing to bet that's the cause. Drivers are desperate to get freight whether they have time or not, resulting in more reckless driving. Just a thought.
It had to be a yard jockey who doesn’t have to crank the trailer down or up!
I used to pick up trailers at this one place and the yard dog always cranked the landing gear, legs down. So when you had a driver, not paying attention, they would high hook the trailer. They told me they did that so the trailer was level in the docks🤔
It sounds like the guy who dropped that trailer is the kind of guy who would sit right next to you in a practically empty movie theatre, when there's plenty of seats to pick from. Personally, and I think this could apply to any kind of job, they should give some of these people a special test to make sure they have the right kind of common sense to handle their job.
Common sense with a pinch of integrity.
You need to find out who dropped the trailer ,dispatcher or security cameras should tell you then you can have a word
The "it's all about ME" attitude is not limited to our industry.
It was like that at the KMart drop yard, had to flag down the yard dog to pull the trailer out a few feet! Crazy, and their drop yard was like driving on the moon , through the craters ! Crazy!
I totally agree. Another pet peeve of mine is when they leave the landing gear handle out so someone can walk into it or driving away with the landing gear crank up halfway
I had that @ the shipper and I had to DRAG IT OUT ON THE LANDING GEAR! The very next safety meeting, I brought that up. The company called the shipper and got it straight. It was a preloaded trailer, dropped by one of their jocks.Having to drag out a trailer when you cannot access the landing gear crank because it's TOO CLOSE to the next trailer, unacceptable.
That was crap, good save!
That's just part for the course at the Kraft plant in Springfield, MO but the thing is if I don't like how tight my Trailer is I'll go find one of their yard dogs and get him to pull mine out so I at least can crank the gear.
bring back roller Weiner Mondays.
I am a self-taught Jockey Rig driver because of this issue.
Did the guy who parked that close have flip flops on? 🤦♂️ And did that Hornet have a Hellcat engine? Looked sick all blacked out but 52 G's? Good Lord 😯
i still haven't figured out why you're always at a car lot...do you just go looking on sundays,or own a lot? i don't know...i must have missed the part where you mentioned it
Do not crank your gear all the way to the ground. Problem solved. Then when you get under it it will lift up sufficiently enough to pull it forward or you can get it to gear
Mark will do anything as long as you pay him, mmmmmmmmmmm👍
LOL
What triggers my rage is not dropping trailers correctly,I literally saw a driver make ground contact and still crank the gear more, jeez
Me and you both, I make sure to leave a little wiggle room between the feet and ground so when I gently pull forward it gently sets down and the next driver doesn’t have to crank for the next 30 minutes to get contact.
Mark, if you want everything done your way, you have to do it yourself.. I believe you need to start your own trucking company and only keep the drivers who do everything your way. But will that finally make you happy? 😂.. things that me you go hmmm....
Talk about what are the options when you have to pick up a trailer like this and you can’t move the trailers on either side to get to the Dolly. Climb underneath and try to roll up the dolly legs just a bit, then pull it out further or just try and pull it out with the legs down if it’s an MTY just enough to get to the handle. Pain in the butt.😡
It's called lazy it's dropped not my problem
Sounds like to me that maybe driver's like that used to be a yard driver, and now that person is a truck driver who doesn't know the meaning of respect
I’ll drive a mile out of my way if I have to so I don’t have to blind side.
I’ve worked with guys that think they are showing off when they park them close. Idiots.
Mark, yard dogs do that all the time claiming they have no room, they do that right there by you @ WABASH , try getting hold of a Yard dog @ 02:30 so you can drop and hook… it’s not fun at all, and you have to be NICE 😊, how dare you get upset 😠😡🤬.
The guy had all kinds of spots, yet he dropped his inches from your spot, that's ridiculous! By the way, I thought that you were in it for the glory? I've been at the same company for 26 years now and times are changing. Welcome to the new world order of trucking. 😢
Unfortunately, I work LTL OTHER DRIVERS BLOCK TRAILERS EVERY DAY MOST DRIVER IN A RUSH AND DONT CARE ABOUT THE NEXT TRAILER COMIN IN THIS SITULATION WILL NEVER CHANGE
AND THEY GONNA LET A 18YR DRIVE 😱🤬🙄🤡
👍🏼👍🏼😎
YUP, it' is a big deal! They don't even try. They curb, fuel island and driveway park so they don't get backing practice. Then drops and docks is when the crap painfully puts more time and work on us
Trucking has become a rainbow festival Do it at home and when off duty (I'm not a hater, just don't want it messing with my time and work)
I don't believe new drivers come into this thinking this is anything more than a job and have no passion for their craft.
Do you believe new drivers coming in from an ATA company who were "trained" by a guy who was awarded his own truck last week have it in them to seek out more wisdom and knowledge about the career he's in?
I very highly doubt it. It's just another job, it's just another paycheck, who cares.

🤣 Gagging on his words 🤮 Mark Rules! LOL
MARK REMEMBER YOU CAN!T FIX STUPID /THE QUALITY OF DRIVERS SURE HAS DECLINED
Mark if the world wasn't full of so many assholes what would you be talking about, 😂 wow I appreciate how nice people are dropping trailers exactly a foot apart from each other... Crickets
Mutants
These days I'm seeing more and more lazy drivers
4 has always been enough for me. 🤣🤣🤣👌🤏
