Elvis had like 0.000002 seconds to react. That's amazing that he got that far off the ground that quickly. Now I know why they have all those jumping drills at the combine.
Marchand definitely did that on purpose, he has no play on the puck at that point, no chance to go through the guy to get it. His only play would be to cut to the outside to retrieve the puck. I realize its slowed down but he knew what he was doing, I don't think he intended to run him into the goalie but he definitely went low on him. Another gutless move
I wouldn't mind seeing that as a suspendable offense -- like you said he had no play on the puck, and he hit a guy low while putting two people at risk for injury on an inconsequential play
Thats SOP for Marchand, he's been that type of player for years. He has ZERO issues with running, head hunting, slew foots, knee on knee or whatever dirty crap he wants to do. Image being Bergeron and trying to be his Captain and defend his actions ?

Marchand just douchin his way through another game
Is no one seeing how dirty of a play that was from the RAT? He had no play on the puck and then decisdes to take the guys legs out in a vunerable spot. His secret is to make the play look like an accident. My favorite players are inforcers and even annoyer's like Perry, Wilson, etc, but Marchand is dirty on whole different level.

It is amazing that he jumped him, but it is a very dangerous play to jump him because who knows when you come down what is under your feet, and the possibility of the players legs or arms to be underneath you is high! The safest play is as the announcer said to get down and get in the way solidly, safest ply for everyone

A split second decision? No way. If the keeper can get out of the way, they gotta get out of the way. The defender might get injured, but the goalie is extra vulnerable in that situation.
