Marleau going through the handshakes got me. There are a couple kids there whose dad has played against him.
He's literally been in the league longer than I've been alive
He got drafted a few months after I was born. It’s insane
I can literally hear the comments in my head as they're shaking his hand, "ey, you've been my idol since I was a kid, great fucking job, eh?"
He has been in the NHL longer then six teams ( counting Seattle ) and San Jose has only been around longer then him by 5 seasons
Yep, I had the same thought watching both that one and the linden one. A lot of them grew up watching Patrick and Trevor. They probably never thought they'd be there for their last game/Record Breaking Game.
Marleau's kid flossing while everyone is clapping for him is the funniest thing I've seen in a while.
Taught by Mitch Marner mom, when in Toronto
ruclips.net/video/GJ56G-nthb0/видео.html
did not have to scroll far to find this LOL
Zach saw⅖
i was thinking the same thing. cracked me right up.
I prefer these videos more than the fights videos. Not against fighting, just kinda bored of it. Never bored of people being good people.
I'm a big fan of the UFC also. When I want to watch the fighting, I'll go there. I agree.
Yea the hockey fights get pretty boring after a while
Well, there arent much good stuff coming from people so its more of a rarety compared to the shitshow we usually make lol
@Keane Mahony Uhh he literally did lmao
Yup. Fighting gets old real quick. My Dad was a WW2 veteran, was tough as nails, but despised the fighting. He liked goals, assists and sportsmanship moments best. He taught me being tough doesn’t have to mean aggressive.
Gordie's stick from the game he played when he broke the all-time record was in the Hockey Hall of Fame until Marleau broke the record. The Howe family requested Gordie's stick be removed and replaced with Marleau's, and the Howe family gave Gordie's stick to Marleau as a present. Hockey: the classiest game on earth.
What a tribute, amazing!
Howe family IS CLASSY !
brady tkachuk is the dude you look at in class when the teacher is yelling and crack up laughing
3:12 Fabaree is like “AYO DANAULT GIVE ME A HUG BUDDY”
LOL
The two of them standing there like “man look at these fuckin fools *fighting* beer after the game buddy?”
Stutzle and Tkachuk = cutest couple in hockey lol
Yessirrrrr
Stutzle won't play the same if Tkachuk doesn't resign he probably will tho
Tkachuk is resigning. Seeing his character on and off the ice, he has found a home here and he's going nowhere
@@joetreehuba326 but if ottawa doesn't offer him enough he won't sign unless he plays for the love of the sport not the money
Best Bromance award no doubt
Marleau is like everybody's hockey dad. So grateful that he came to Toronto for a few seasons. I love having him here but cheered for him wherever he went. When Patrick Marleau wins a game, we all win a game.
Class act.
Marleau is definitely the dad, Spezza and Thorton and Simmonds are the eccentric uncles
@@ternauven lmao
and most football players won't even make it to 200 games played and if they are lucky they play 25 games a year.
What does that make me then? I watched him in juniors. Please don't answer that.
25?
THE ROCK PAPAER SCISSORS between Zibanejad and Marchand was priceless....
Amazing to see Marleau there. Jagr played forever, it seemed like, and yet here's Marleau who somehow passed both Jagr and Gordie Howe. What a career. Thinking about Marleau and Thornton, the teamwork they had for so many years, that was a pleasure to watch.
Good call. Jagr would have beat it by a mile if he hadn't left the NHL for a few years.
Watching Mika shoosh Marchand away is a beautiful, beautiful sight
I’m a Knights fan and even though we are rivals with the Sharks, I’m glad that Marleau got that standing ovation and shook the hands of the Golden Knights. He’s a legend and no matter what team he plays on that will never change.
No dude you´re a Flyers fan :D
You my friend, are a true hockey fan.
The Linden and Marleau displays by the other teams. The tradition of teams shaking hands at the end of the playoffs. You would never see this in baseball, football and basketball. That it why we love the sport and the players.
teemu selanne vs the kings
Okay, okay, so, the two dudes who did the rock-paper-scissors thing to see who'd leave the ice first is fucking awesome.
1:01 Stutzle saying hello, and then backing up... I just find it comical looking lol
The Zamboni left by the time Marchand and zibanejad were done lmao
wow props to the Knights for announcing Marleau's achievement and the fans were all nice and supportive about it too. that's amazing though! a lot of games and something that'll be hard to beat.
I was at the game, and as a Sharks fan I can’t thank the Knights fans enough for how great they treated Marleau that night. That,Marc-Andre Fleury & Pete DeBoer are the nice things I’ll ever say about the Golden Knights. But ya, almost 1/2 of the fans there were Shark fans who made the trip, so that was great. LOTS of Marleau jerseys in the building.
@@moonglow630 as a knights fan, we take ANY compliment we can get 😂😂😂..
When the record was broken last season, Marleau had played in games with 3,344 people. There had only been 8,102 players in NHL history at that point, meaning Marleau had played a game with 41% of every NHL player ever.
I think you mean he has played with 41% of all nhl players.
@@jayw900 he only played with the upper bodies of all the NHL players lol :p
Quite the stat !
Brady said “ATTA BOY JIMMY!” at the beginning hahahahaha Jimmy Stew
Sid saying “That is good. That’s awesome” is so satisfying for whatever reason
Gordie Howe would be first in line to congratulate Patrick Marleau.
Absolutely he would. And he would have been there with a big smile on his face.
Seeing Marleau still playing when I got a puck signed by him when I was a kid (some 15 yrs ago or so) is a treasure. His wisdom still echoes via Matthews and the like at Toronto and I hope will reign down in San Jose.
It was an honour and a half to have Marleau play for the leafs. Man deserves nothing but the best.
Man! I got some serious chills when that Vancouver crowd turned up the noise to 11 when the Calgary men lined up to give him some love!! End of the day, there's alot of respect between players in the NHL!!
5:07 "you're the best player in the game" to iggy
In that time frame, I don't think he was far off if not the best
I get chills every time I hear it.
The Marleau record still gets me. To break it, someone would need to play every single game of 21 full nhl seasons, and would break the record 3/4 of the way through their 22nd season. It’ll never be broken
i feel a bit bad for Stützle. Tkatchuks brother always leaving, when Tim gets to them
I think he’s just jealous that his brother loves Timmy more 😂😂
I think he does it on purpose to break up the friendliness before the game 😂
god, the Farabee Danult hug will always be funny "GIANT END OF GAME FIGHT GOING ON" lets just hold each other here
Marleau will always be a favorite in everyone’s book he’s such a pure soul
It's crazy knowing that there are a bunch of players in the NHL who weren't even alive yet when Marleau played his first game in the NHL...
Great video. That tribute to Marleau made me proud to be a Minnesotan. Class acts from Vegas too.
The scene after Trevor Linden's last game choked up EVERYONE in the building. The guy was pure class on and off the ice no matter where he played. When he left to hand the reigns over to Messier, the scene was doom and gloom. This time it was all pride in having him be a Canucks legend.
I want to find someone who'll look at me like Stützle looks at Tkachuk
Every one of these made me smile. Great selections.
Sharks fan here. Much respect to Wild and Knights fans here. Well done.
Nothing I love more than players being good sports.
8:49 Imagine your dad making NHL history and what were you doing? A fortnite dance........
Sad times
And imagine making nhl history and over half your family and relatives aren’t wearing masks
@@danteangotti5786 imagine being a fucking sheep
@@jeffyb1709 imagine acting like wearing a mask is the biggest infringement on our rights. “Red flag laws? Increasing gun control? Massive amounts of culture war and censorship on both the right and left? Fuck em, let’s chose not wearing a mask as our hill to die on”
@@zachzwerneman5061 damn man I’m glad I’m not an American but thx for agreeing with me on the simple act of keeping everyone safe from COVID no matter what your beliefs are because a mask doesn’t care if you’re right or left, obviously someone with the iq of a spoon would know that, and so it’s no question you do too, don’t take that offensively I was genuinely complimenting you, just probably not very well lol, CHEERS!
I live for moments like these.... and the fights
5:00 the Flames showed a lot of class there. And again at 6:45 with Minnesota. This is how it should always be...
I’m glad i saw patrick marleau play... then again he played longer than i was alive but still great player 100% always will be a shark in my eyes
I have also seen him play. But when you think about it as many games as he has played the odds of a lot seeing him skate in person is probably pretty high.
"I saw Patrick Marleau play" is like saying "I saw a bird today."
Congratulations Marleau's 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love these types of videos
I was at the Vegas game when Marleau broke Howe’s record. It was an amazing night to be a Sharks fan.
Most professional hockey games played record still belongs to Howe: 2186.
@@4orrcountry ???
The NHL record belongs to Patty Marleau
Sharks fans have to reach far for some great moments .. gkg !
From a Kings fan and lifelong Sharks hater, I really wish Marleau would have gotten a ring. Dude is such a class act and diehard hockey player, you really can’t hate on him or what he brought to San Jose.
Even though there are rivalry’s, you just have this unspoken respect for everyone in every sport. You’ll fight a guy one game, and help him up off the ice the next.
I'm so proud to be a Minnesota hockey player and now hockey dad. I'm sick of the winters but I stay for the hockey.
Really nice to see the Calgary Flames come back out and shake hands with Linden.
Same with Patty Marleau.. class act through and through and to see the respect from the opposite team is so great to see.
There was a lot of respect for Trevor Linden by the players because he was the President of the player's union.
thank you for this.
I love seeing good sportsmanship.
Patty always been a true class act will always be my favorite player!!
Tim Stützle is an Ottawa Senator
1:41
This had me rolling
Marleau to Marleau: "Hold it in, don't let them see your tears of joy"
Jens you are on point with these videos!
Hockey players are the classiest of all the sports…and these guys get 20 stitches in the face and go right back out there and play the rest of the game….
Marleau is the man. I wish his time in Pittsburgh worked out better, but I was damn happy to have him in our town.
hell of a privilege watching Marleau all these years as a Sharks fan. wish they couldve sealed the deal in 2016 but still great to have him on the Sharks for so long.
In the first clip, Tkachuk said “Atta boy jimmy!”😂
Kinda crazy to see my buddy playing with Vegas. Grew up playing hockey with him and went to school together!
Who's the buddy you're referring to?
@@kevinstull8552 Zach whitecloud #2 plays defense for the Vegas Golden Knights
Nah staying on the ice until the Zamboni is finished is diabolical😂😂😂
Might be because I’m a wild fan but I find it hilarious that they go from celebrating Marleau tying the record, to the wild slapping them 5-2.
Iggy and Linden ....2 great Alberta guys .....both so close to winning The Cup
God i love this damn game! All there is to it!
I like how mrs. Marleau was like “ quit fortnight dancing and pay attention to how awesome your dad is!”
Two opposing players hugging while a fight is taking place tells you everything you need to know about hockey player attitude
It’s a lot of fun to watch sportsmanship in the NHL
❤❤❤❤
Mad respect for Jerome Iginla and classy Flames team.Trevor Linden was one of the best players to play the game
Definitely, I hated playing against him (I think he had more pts against the wild than any other team), but he is pure class all the way.
Great edit. Congrats to Marleau.
How do you compile all these clips? It’s mind blowing
3:15 something similar happened in a Vegas vs Colorado game. Chandler Stephenson and Andre Burachovsky were hugging outside of a scrum
That’s really nice, especially because they were former teammates with each other.
Do a tribute to Marleau please. Love the content.
I fucking love Danault abs #49 there just going right for the bro hug 🤗 as soon as the scrum starts. Like 'wanna hold hands? Fuck ya dude'
You are one wonderful lady and everybody here loves you.
Truly an amazing milestone. Congratulations.
How can you not love this game?
I love hockey, just love it. These kinda videos are fantastic.
(lifelong San Jose Sharks fan here) Randy Hahn asks Marleau (after his last season) "Joe Pavelski is on the Dallas Stars, and Joe Thornton is on the Florida Panthers... If they play each other in the Stanley Cup this year who are you going to be rooting for?"
Patrick Marleau - "I want Joe to win"
I hate Brad Marchand but at 2:35, he gained a little respect. That was funny.
Stützle and Tkachuk is my favourite Bromance
Video Request: No-Goal Calls That Led to Shutouts
i love when theres a little melee how some of the players will wrap their arms around another player and just watch the scrap
The fighting and funny moments may be good but nothing beats the wholesome sportsmanship moments that make hockey as a lazing as it is
How can you not get romantic about a game where you could spend 20 years killing yourself to beat these guys, only to when it’s all done go by and say “hey man it was a fuckin pleasure going up against you” god I love this sport
Love your videos!! And thank you for showing where I can get a phone case of sports! I’ve been trying to find one of Fleury!! 🌸
The two hugging during a fight!
thanks for the content
Tim and Brady and Brock and pety are my favorites couples XD
I have so much respect for Iggy.
In front of no crowd. What a true accomplishment ruined by an empty arena. Good on pat
i had never heard of the last off the ice superstition til now
1768 NHL games that’s absolutely insane!
There is no sport like hockey and there are no athletes like hockey players. This was an awesome video
i like to think that other sports fans would have words with you
I just realized I owe you an apology. I've been watching your vids for months and realized I'd never subscribed. Also can I say you have really stepped up your game this year. If you do happen to read this, thanks.
Edit: forgot to actually apologize. Sorry about that. Lol
Young hockey fan here and I didn't realize how talented Marleau is or how long he's been around. It's an honor to have him play for Pittsburgh
7:56 Those helmets are narly 😂😂
best line ever “that’s gonna be a meme”
those gold domes that Vegas is wearing are atrocious! right up there with the Ducks 1st jerseys and cooperalls.
the only one it looks good on is the goalie lol
Hockey players are pure class..
I'm pretty sure I had an already-established Patrick Marleau on my Yahoo fantasy hockey team in high school. Back in 2001
4:09 "There´s gonna be a meme for sure"
