7 years per child is what he should have received. The wife and daughter deserve real jail time. They did nothing to stop the S.A. as well as being verbally and physically abusive to the children. The foster care system is broken and has been for some time, but hey, it's just kids, right? Absolutely, I am in the UK suing the local authority for things that happened to me in foster care in the 1980's, difference with my case is I researched and investigated the events on my own, I did all the leg work and have just instructed Peter Garsden in a civil claim against the authorities for knowing what happened and doing nothing. As with the Turpin kids they will carry this for the rest of their lives like an anchor, so absolutely the people who knew about the previous abuse at child services should go to prison, they should also to pay up, they are liable and the proof is there.

🤬Heavier charges, child services needs to pay as well. Somebody needs to pay for therapy for life for these kids. I'm a retired adolescent psych case worker and also grew up in the foster care system. At 65 yrs of age the story is still the same. Social services claims to be overburdened and short staffed. Here's a though,t pay the social workers a decent wage, offer support to combat burnout and stop passing the buck, stop expecting one person to take on a load of a few hundred kids. I worked in a psych hospital. It angers me the number of kids that are dumped in psych hospitals BECAUSE they're are no decent foster homes. Some of these kids coming in are fine except not having parents that can care for them. By the time they leave the hospital they have learned all kinds of negative traits and once they age out society sees what happens. Why is this man only receiving 7 years? Did they go back and interview all the children that have been in that foster home previously? How did someone with his record become a foster parent? Oh ya, any warm body qualifies these days. The case worker, supervisor and whole department need to be charged with child endangerment, Child Net had other complaints of abuse? My head is spinning with this. Maybe the judge needs closer examination as well. Where they not receiving extensive therapy while in foster care? I bet they weren't. For this presenter to say with the finances he hopes they can put their childhood behind them. Seriously? Our foundations for development are when we are children. This will stay with them forever. Out of all these kids how many do you think will turn to drugs/alcohol to block the memories? Will any of them become abusers? I'm so sick of this.

Not all the children are adults his the oldest. I heard that the oldest ones where trying to gain custody of their little siblings.

The system is responsible for their second nightmare. Why would the foster care system allow anyone to foster so many children?

This is utterly disgusting - shame on the legal system for allowing the wife and daughter to get probation. All of them should have gotten 25+ yrs in jail.

7 years and probation?!?! Those children have been victimized by EVERYONE who was supposed to protect them.

This is not fair. My heart is aching for these poor kids. They already have been through a lot. May the Lord protect them. The evil monster parents, not foster parents, should spend the rest of their lives in prison.

Oh my God these children will never have faith in humans again. Was there no one in their family who could take these children in??? My God how is CPS vetting these foster parents.

There were 13 of them, which would be too much for any family member to handle. And even if there were, why didn't they say anything all the years they were being treated that way? I wouldn't trust any of them with those children.

@@tarabooartarmy3654 i never meant to insinuate all 13 would go to one family member. Of course thats too much for one household . Also according to her sister, who was interviewed by GMA when the story initially broke, advised they were shut out of the children’s lives.

@@CocoNoir2020 yeah, that’s so common in abusive households. They shut out other family members so their abuse isn’t discovered or reported. It’s possible the family had issues that kept them from taking the kids, like past CPS issues of their own, poor living conditions, mental health issues, etc. I believe they do try to place with family members whenever possible.

Do men just think that rape and sexual abuse is not a big deal? How is it that these charges carry such a small sentence?
