- This is Harare, Zimbabwe. Africa you don't See on TV.Harare is the capital of Zimbabwe. it has a population of about 1.7 million people. It was formerly called Salisbury until 1982. It is also the most populous city in Zimbabwe.
We have all heard a lot of things about Zimbabwe. Surprisingly, a lot of people still ask me if Zimbabweans go to buy bread with money full on wheelbarrows. Well today I shall be showing you what Zimbabwe CBD really looks like. Let's see if we shall spot money on wheelbarrows.
One thing you should have noticed by now is that there's no motorbikes here. Apparently motorbikes or bodaboda or okada are not allowed as a means of public transport. I think this is really nice and reduces chaos in the city.

You've done Zimbabwe a solid in the last few episodes more than a lot of other big media in the last 20yrs. One would think it's a war zone. Kudos to you Sis 😎😎
There is no war in Zimbabwe
Our ministry of Tourism must pay you handsomely for the good things you are doing for our country... Instead of trying to deport you...
No. They need to offer you AT the keys to the city of Harare and free entry and exit. LOL.
Our neighbor is a sleeping giant the infrastructure is still there if we can support each other as Africans this giant can get back to her feets and play a big role in making Africa a better place. 🇿🇦

Zimbabweans have actually been inspired by the recent Zambian election where the opposition leader was elected by the people. Zambia president has given advice to Zimbabwe’s opposition leader on the 2023 elections.
Slowly but surely change is coming in Africa
Thanks for the kind words. I concur with you.

@@listenup2882 I'm zimbabwean. I will not hide the truth for the sake of being patriotic to my country. Zim is bad. The sufferings are unbearable unless your are politically connected to zanu mafias. The infrastructure we see here was built by whites that we chased away, the only reason some of this infrastructure still looks ok is because it is hardly used. There is no population to use these buldings since they fled to south africa
i love this country, soo much. The people are very hardnworking. Lots of love from Kenya!

🙏thank you for showing our city as a Zimbo in the diaspora I enjoyed that tour, brought back a lot of memories. Make sure to visit eastern highlands Nyanga.
The way this city is clean domeone can just dish on the floor and eat but the way people be making Zimbabwe look like a serious dirt pit you will swear of slapping them. Look at the infrastructure of this country, those tall buildings. Zimbabwe might be having its problems like other countries but it has nice place to be. Harare is beautiful. Its only political turmoil that led Zimbabwe down 20 years ago. Zimbabwe was 2nd after South Africa in Subsaharan Africa. It was the envy of success. It went thru hardships but is quickly reviving itself. Am sure City Council will iron out few things like road maintenance soon.
I am Ghanaian living in Spain really I am so surprised for Zimbabwe this my first time to watch this and I love what I'm seeing for Zimbabwe
I love Harare. It is giving me vibes of a cleaner, less crowded Nairobi from all the videos you're doing. Hope to go there one day through a road trip on my way to SA. Keep up the good work!
Yes its a good video but Harare used to be even cleaner and better pavements. These need attention asap. Wish also some new tall buildings would go up. Hopefully in future.
Harare is beautiful and clean, a far cry from what the western media would want us to believe
A very beautiful city,am suprised as a Kenyan I admire Zimbabwe already wow this country can go far with the right kind of leadership we never see this side of africa.
I am Zimbabwean but watching this video is giving me the chills. Thank you African Tigress for bringing the streets of Harare to the world. Am so proud right now.
Talk of similarities with Nairobi, city layout ,the same:Huge differences, traffic movement more organised ,traffic lights actually working unlike in Nairobi where the policemen directs traffic at almost every junction,no SACCO matatus at every turn.
They were and still are settler colonies, of course they'll look similar
@@brianmungai2401 much of the building in Nairobi happened from the 80s to the 2010s, long after the British left, so the similarities can't be coz of the British influence, probably the city architects in Nairobi copied a thing or two from Zimbabwe because Harare was always the second best city in sub saharan Africa and a role model city after the south African cities even in the 60s and 80s

Nairobi metro has a population close to that of Zimbabwe😂😂. That explains the traffic, chaos etc.
@@derrickmutuma7185 That's not correct, Nairobi has about 2.7 million people which is comparable to Harare's 1.7 million people. On the other hand Zimbabwe's population is about 15 million people. Asante sana.

Thank you
Wow!! What a beautiful country. Nothing closer to the picture I have always had about that country. Much cleaner than most countries. Good citizens, investors, and uncorrupted politicians can definitely turn the fortunes of this beautiful country around for the best!
Corruption has been a scurge in Zimbabwe. However pre-covid Zimbabwe was not this clean,it has pot holes, dirt roads and vendors all over the Capital. But Covid forced the Regime to clean up the City, remove vendors and improve sanitation, clean up the roads and things look better. So Zimbabwe must thank Covid for forcing them to clean up the Country, now its much cleaner than it was in 2016.
Having lived and worked in Harare for a year, 1991-92, I consider it the MOST beautiful city in the world. Memories of Harare Gardens, Monopotapa Hotel, First Street, the lovely jacarandas and fire trees, and yes, the tasty wild mushrooms (tsuke-tsuke, etc. ). Thank you for the memories, Zimbabwe!
It was a beautiful city back in the 1980’s and 90’s - a bit rough around the edges today sadly.
I'm shocked and speechless😲😳!
Great job for changing narrative about Zim. Harare, Nairobi, Abidjan and Dakar are the most ''western like" cities in sub Saharan Africa outside SA I have visited. Largely because they were all settler colony cities unlike the more organic cities that developed from markets like Lagos- which have an African footprint I love. Please play Oliver Mtukudzi as your soundtracks in addition to what you have.
I have noticed that people cross the road everywhere maybe due to the roads being less congested.
My fellow Zimbabweans dont follow city bylaws we just cross when we can though its not allowed. Mungatidii
