Another thing amazing about Celeste’s soundtrack is Madeline’s leitmotif vs Badeline’s leitmotif. Badeline’s is a minor, almost more sinister version of Madeline’s, signifying how anxiety is the part of her that is “bad.” But when the two start to work together, their themes merge in a beautiful harmony, signifying how embracing your anxiety rather than pushing it away can seriously improve everything. It’s amazing.
For real when “Nobody told me about Id” in the original DOOM played at the end of chapter 2 and you had to fight the cyber demon I had a sense of dread and for good reason
Literally looked for the comment, luckly it was like the third one. I have two songs of the Doom(2016) soundtrack on my playlist, which is mostly just "normal" music.
I loved this video, I felt this video had a script more focused from Alax heart, it doesn't have too much punch lines and comedy, but he sounds so much relaxed and free to talk about what he enjoys everyday and help the viewer realize what makes a game feel more personal and enjoyable. Even I felt relaxed through the video recognizing what makes a game scary, happy, sad, etc.
I think Undertale’s music is the secret ingredient that helped it truly become a cult classic. It’s SO good with story-telling. The leitmotifs all work so well!
Unfortunately the fan base became such a cesspool of degeneracy. Thus making it hard for many people to actually come to the realisation that Toby Fox is a genius who knew what he was doing. . . for everything in that game.
Tom TheRavenclaw A couple of solutions 1. Grab some Final Fantasy, Persona, or Sonic (R and Secret Rings sound the most like radio music consistently.) music and play it. See how those people react to the song first. Then tell them its origin. 2. Next time they say that, ask them what songs you heard that sound like that and make them search it. They most likely aren't able to, as there are tons of video game music and they probably didn't even bother to look up the name. That or they just made it up and have never listened to a song from a video game. 3. If there's ever a huge event, ask the DJ to play a vocal theme from a game. There are a ton of options, not limited to Persona, Sonic (mostly the games in between Adventure 1 to Sonic Lost World), or Jet Set Radio. Those games in particular have the most vocal themes, but you can also use other vocal themes. Freesia from Mega Man Zero 4 will get the heads turning. 4. Alternatively, you could just play Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts on a speaker one day. No one will tell the difference. I hope I helped.
You know, I had read that name a ton of times before, only talking good things about it, and now I guess I will download it because is not normal to find the same game having that much "is underrated attention", is that game which name I know but is gameplay I didn't care about.
Speaking of Mii's, the Wii in general had an underrated soundtrack. You know you've done a great job when people can still remember the soundtrack to an online shop.
I always loved music from games even as a kid. I just wish it would get as much respect as songs from movies or shows. But because it's a video game it's looked down upon and "not real music". Yet it is real music just like any other music. Maybe one day
I gotta admit this was a very thoughtful, chill, and a really thought provoking analysis. You can feel the passion Alax has when he speaks in the video even if there’s his classic humor sprinkled in. All in all, amazing vid man. I await to see the next vid.
Joshua ijaola But....mumble rap is still music, if there’s even one person in the world that likes it... I say it’s good music even if I personally don’t like it. Music is music and no one has to be judged, including people that listen to rap, game music, reggaeton, blues, electro swing etc... You know... I was thinking about being a musician but then I thought that here in Spain (where I live) if you make Reggaeton or trap or something like that half of the people are going to tell you that your music sucks but if you do other types of music the other half will criticize you... So I just like all types of music, if I like a song I listen to it, I don’t “hate” any music genres or say they aren’t music...
Hearing that section about Celeste really put the beauty video game music into perspective. It’s a craft that is adored by so many, yet commonly disregarded. It really does connect you to the experience, makes you feel part of it, and it immerses you into the feelings of the characters, making them your own. Video game music when done right has this power to touch you. It’s such an interesting craft, and to see it go under the radar and get disregarded as often does so much injustice to the effort and musical mastery that goes into some of the greatest video game soundtracks out there. Some of my personal favorite soundtracks have got to be Hollow Knight and Celeste’s. They’ve given me goosebumps all over because of the utter awe that they made me feel (in my case Kingdom’s Edge in HK for example) and sometimes downright cry when remembering certain areas with that track (City of Tears from HK, and Golden Ridge from Celeste). Video game music has so much care and love poured into it, and its greatest composers really deserve the love and respect they get. And in my opinion topples the vast majority of modern pop music, but that’s a discussion for another day.
this, is beautiful, no joke, I just love this. I just remembered the time that I listened to 11pm in animal crossing new leaf for the first time. It was last year, I was hyped for New Horizons, and I had gone back to new leaf for the first time in ages in a brand new save to experience it again. It was a game I grew up with and I hold so many fond memories with it, going back to it at that time was helping me with the stress of exams and life in general. One night, I was playing it, and I suddenly heard music that I had never heard before, it was surreal to me that I was hearing new music in a game that I spent hours playing when I was a child, but I had never played the game this late before. The calm and reflective vibes that 11pm gave off... it reminded me of all the time I spent with this game when I was younger, and how this game gave me a place to escape to when the relationships I had in real life were toxic, and how the game was still helping me through rough places now. I cried, a happy crying, because I realised just how much this game meant to me. Video game music is incredible, and I will always remember this experience.
Y’all are literally forgetting about Touhou, the mother of video game music. ZUN(Jun’ya Ota) literally made 555 songs or more for the whole franchise. And each one were a bop. The all had different atmospheres and some tracks had similar atmospheres because they were in the same setting(LoLK and IN)! He always wrote the music for the game first and then designed the game based on what the music would do. The amounts of leitmotifs present is ridiculous as well(Theme of Eastern Story appearing in every Windows game, and in the new bosses music. Necrofantasia/Pure Furies/ True Administrator/ Concealed the Four Seasons having new parallels being discovered.) Or even character themes having something that distinctly makes each character different(Marisa had the most amounts of themes in the franchise yet they all are distinctly Marisa representing a different aspect of her.)It even inspired undertale’s music for god sake. (Just listen to Undyne’s theme or Asriel’s theme and compare it to Lunar Dial or Love Colored Master Spark.)
I don't know how i missed this one when it released It's frustrating when someone ask which is your favourite song and knowing that if you say cynthia battle theme nobody will take you seriously. Most of my favourite songs are from games, and i think they are a lot more enjoyable than what you often listen to the radio.
The A Hat in Time osts (the normal and b-side) has some of the best music I’ve ever heard and a good variety of different genres within it. They were the first video game soundtracks that I actually downloaded onto my phone and I listen to them almost everyday.
This is also a reason I think 2B seems so beautiful in Nier Automata. The music just adds so much to her character with soft vocals, foreign language and melancholic tone. It almost feels like 2B herself is performing these songs, how much they reflect her emotional state in a given situation. Just because the music is so charming, she becomes as well. Imagine her flailing weapons around with DOOM's soundtrack - suddenly she's a rampaging thicc goth lady shredding robots. Completely different.
I can really relate with this video. I’ve always been told that game music isn’t “real music.” It made me mad and confused. Thank you for making me understand game music more and help me understand why I love this video games and their music so much.
Thats what I say. Most of what I listen to is videogame music. The fact that it is composed for different reasons than most music (intended to be paired with something) means that it ends up sounding different, and something about that just appeals to me. I have a 1000+ song playlist of random songs I like and about 90% of it is probably videogames.
I have the exact same problem. I like every type of music except the one my brother listens to. He sometimes asks what my favourite type is, I always say I don't have favourite. I just love game music!
The mood of this comment section is going to change soon. Edit: This thread went to hell REAL quick. Edit 2: Didn't know he made an apology video till Yesterday. Bobdunga sounds like a b1tch being honest and her going private is a red flag on her. However I am going to be taking the Rose Tinted Glasses off for Alax going forward. You can never be too sure but I'll take Alax's words for it for now.
"Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - Come On!" If you've heard that, you're probably thinking of a Dance Club mixed in with a brawl and Mario and Luigi dancing.
(I love the vid btw top 10 I have enjoyed tbh) I am dissapointed by 1 thing and 1 thing only The lack of boss theme mention Like how do you manage to do this well crafted, well edited, extremelly informative and fun(yall did all these :3) without mentioning them... I think You just inspired me to do something :)
Robert E I mean I’m guessing, I haven’t actually played those games yet but I’m about to because I got the trilogy for free on my PS4. But yeah, that would be hilarious, 😂
Forward Aerial If we ever have a sequel to Super Mario Sunshine, I want the story to be about Luigi actually being the mother of Bowser Jr. And I somehow want it to make sense.
Xenoblade music is just incredible, yoko shimamura, ACE+ and fucking Hiroyuki Sawano on the board to make three of the most amazing scores in gaming. Shame people only know Xeno 2
I love what you did with this video. The new intro, outro, the editing, the amazing points you've made throughout the video. You're making good changes, keep it up :)
I know that this is the wrong time, but Big fan of your content. Anyhow, it’s really tense seeing all of the allegations against him, and I don’t think the court of Twitter is the best way to solve these very serious accusations.
@@Explosion_Mage except that apology was very vague, he didn't talk about abuse specifically, and it was probably made just to shush people. He has to come again, with more concrete evidence and the receipts, ProJared style. Either that, or he is done
Zeke von Genbu, Bringer of Chaos I agree with you. It isn't even just the stages, The battle music is amazing. Even the widely hated Vision theme from XC1 and Black Tar are good songs in their own right. Bringer of Chaos Ultimate was also extremely underrated.
I heavily agree (For XC2 only since I haven't played XC1 or XCX yet). The battles themes get me ready to fight, all of the Titans' day and night themes sound amazing and they fit very well with their locations. But the theme that takes the cake for me is the World Tree. WOW.....Just wow. The theme makes you feel like you are staring in awe of a very sacred place that is filled with technology. Which fits perfectly with what the World Tree is supposed to be. That theme is just godlike IMO.
When I was 10, I got Sonic Adventure 2 for the Gamecube. That OST is what sparked my interest in music. When I heard those rock songs, I asked my Mom "what instrument is that?." She said "that's an electric guitar," and I was like "...can you buy me one?" Now I got a degree in music and my love for gaming comes in second. So this might be my favorite video of yours. Thank you!
my man talked about ssb melee music which shogo sakai basically carried and then didnt step foot into mother 3 (composed ENTIRELY by the guy) and how strong it uses certain melodies and leitmotifs.......or even like...how battle against the masked man uses sounds to synchronize with your (and lucas’s) feeling of dread. like how the song always sounds like it builds up to something but then falls off as he realizes he cant come to attack his brother. its such a genius and emotional composition but thats only the tip of the iceberg for this game’s music and the simultaneous experience of playing it. the music in this game is so powerful i acrually prefer listening to it with all its original gba fuzz and unaltered vibratos ruclips.net/p/PLC264F1C8835A65BF
I like the chillness of the new one, but I do sorta miss the high energy of the last one, and at any rate I’m interested to see how this new sorta style continues on
Damn. Its a shame to see all of Alax's fans turn on him so quickly. I understand that the allegations were very serious but everyone seems to forget nowadays that you're innocent until proven guilty. I repeat. No matter what you think. You're innocent until proven guilty. Yes, really!!! Should he be guilty then hes done but damn yall are quick to just hop off him without any basis or info
reminds me of the projared situation, with just one post from a user all his fans were acting like projared betrayed them before he had a moment to say anything, and everyone would just ignore him after it
FEAR ME Everyone is so quick to defend him. We don’t know the whole story. The best thing we can do is listen to both sides’ stories and then reach a conclusion
@@Error-4O4 My dude I would rather defend somebody who may or may not be a horrible person and find out that I was wrong after the fact then go through the ProJared situation again. I don't want to think or say anything bad about people who are innocent. I don't want to abandon people when they need support the most. If I'm in the wrong, I'm in the wrong, but in the moment, you're still innocent until proven guilty, and I'll die on that hill.
0:57 That’s because it should not be considered a “genre”. In the same way film scores span multiple genres and “movie soundtracks” isn’t really categorised as a genre. I have considered video game music in the same way and if others don’t, they should too in my opinion.
I feel like part of the issue stems from the fact that the chiptune genre was created through video game music and as such there's a large amount of conflation between the two.
There's a lot of p4 and p5 stile in the editing. I absolutely love it. Oh there's a lot of p4 and p5 references. Still absolutely love it. Oh you mentioned it. Huh. Oh right. I'm watching relax alax. That's kinda a given.
I don't really know this.. but I've only observed P4 in his most recent videos.. he probably went back and played 4 after making that P5 video.. I'm gald tho.. more people who know about 4, better i feel coz it's a really good game.. it was my first Persona game nd will still be cherished as the best Persona(for me..)
20:25 i was watching and thought to myself "i hope it's celeste", you won't imagine my face 10 seconds later!! but it really is the perfect example. i bought this game for quarantine and it has been the best well spent money in all my life honestly!
I hope Alax's recent video shows everyone that he's in the right, people are too quick to jump the gun I swear. And if you wanna use the argument of the smash players being accused and punished in such short time, most came out with apologies basically confessing and some even distanced themselves from the community on their own
Personally, I like the Persona-based logo more than this new cartoony one, but GODDAMN this is some of the highest quality production I've ever seen. I can clearly see how much heart you put into this
Ace Attorney will always have one of my favorite soundtracks. Mainly because of the series being a visual novel, a lot of the weight and emotion in it's scenes rely on that music to sell the feeling
The fact that he hasn't said anything tells me that not only this might be his last video, something behind the scenes (aside the actually controversy) must've happened.
megalovania doesn't use "sans." as its letimotif, as known the song was made way before undertale. though the track "it's raining somewhere else" and unused track "that song that might play when you fight sans" use the letimotif to convey different feelings, whether it be the sombre mood of sans' talk to the player in the MTT resort or the aggressive battle that might happen if you fight sans.
The sans. Leitmotif isn't reused in Megalovania though... Hm. I'm sure it's just used in "sans.", "It's Raining Somewhere Else", and the song from the credits.
Funny how he always reflected about the personas and character you present to society to fit better on it and he himself was wearing one to protect his degenerate and disgusting true self.
This has my favorite video you made so far. The chill feeling, the amazing editing. Everything in this video sticks with me and just makes my day that someone is able to describe the feeling in video game music. Thanks for this wonderful video and can't wait see what you create next.
And like, it begs the question of what is "real music" Like, does it need to be released on a official platform? We have C418 and Songs to Test By for download Does it need lyrics? Edge of Dawn is playing in my head on loop as I write this, and that's only one example Does it need to be composed with real instruments? Dragon Quest (When Sugiyma allows it anyway) is filled with orchestra Does it need to be an official artist? Yoko Shiomora did the main themes for Kingdom Hearts and Crush 40 does most the Sonic main themes
Crush 40 would've Basically been a Normal Rock band if they didnt make sonic stuff, Which is why i like to believe Im listening to a Rock band when im Blasting off that Live and learn
I remember listening to Guilty Gear soundtrack and my mom happen to be in the same room and she was asking me what I was hearing and then proceed to tell me it wasn't "real music". It is just random noises she say. Just want to thank you for this video.
"It's meant to be used on tandem with Visuals" Yeh, The Music from the Last Boss Of Kirby Planet Robobot loses some of it's charm if You are not Fighting for your life on Space
Mind in a program is probably one of my favorite songs from kirby the amount of motifs used in the song as well as it sounding completely unique at the same time is awesome. You can hear green greens, haltmanns theme, Title screen theme from robobot, and a little bit of novas theme in the background of phase 3. It's awesome. It also is very thematic as the beats go with what's going on in the game.
I’ll be disappointed if Pumpkin Hill doesn’t show up Edit: OK than that was sooner than expected but I ain’t gonna let it get to me, I’m just gonna creep
As soon as you mentioned a dream sequence, my attention went to Shovel Knight. I only watched a play through of the game, yet the dream sequence music from that game STILL made me cry. Every single emotion Shovel Knight was feeling is beautifully expressed in that song: loneliness, depression, desperation, a fleeting feeling of hope which quickly fades, a dim belief that some day things might be better. All in 8-bit. It’s a masterpiece that never really gets discussed.
i remember being at a music class, i was playing megalovania on an instrument, my teacher heard it and said "stop that, it isn't real music". he had a bad time.
First: what instrument? Secondly: This means the teacher played Undertale Genocide Route, because that's the only way he would know it's from a video game.
I love music in videogames and i loved this video, so much emotion like most of the time (I don't want to say always because I'm not sure), BUT I think you used a wrong example when you mentioned "sans" (the song) and leitmotif because "megalovania" is not the song of Sans, is the song of the genocide route, the right song is "Song that might play when you fight sans", a song that never plays in the game but exist in the game folder. Also, I would liked to see something related to Silvagunner (about leitmotif) That's all, I'm not trying to be rude, I just want to clarify a thing.
I.. seriously, seriously do not like what people are doing. This cancel culture hurts me.. I feel so bad. Alex might have proven himself but, with ZeRo, he admitted it. Still.. While I hate the actions they made, I strongly disagree with people pulling a one-eighty and treating them like the worst people out there. ZeRo is going to therapy and trying to change. While I am disappointed with his actions, I do keep my respect for him as a human being. We aren't perfect. We sometimes make mistakes, sometimes morally very wrong. But ZeRo tries to change and as someone who likes to see the good in people and believe, I am all for that. I am glad he is trying to change, but people show little sense of respect towards them and I feel, so hurt, for their stead. That people can be so close-minded and completely neglect a person like that, even if they are trying to change for the better. So many people do not care. I am a person who likes to look at the brighter and better future, and for people to go against that.. hurts me. I find it so saddening how one-sided and simple-minded people are.
Lol put yourself in their shoes. The supported him for months/years until they found out that he was a lying pedophile. How do you think they felt as minors(aka a large amount of his fanbase) finding out that he did such disgusting things and lied about it when he got confronted? It hurts bro. I don't even feel comfortable watching his content anymore... I agree with the statement that people make mistakes and should be forgiven for them but i think this is just too extreme for his young fanbase. Maybe he should stop being an influencer and get into a different field. That's just my opinion tho.
@UCBtfuIuzZBhtaheFnGEnS_w My dad is an alcohol who beats people up, including my mom, and is pretty irresponsible. But I did treat him normally again, however, he didn't stop with drinking alcohol so I was careful. But seriously, ZeRo? A criminal? He clearly learned from his lesson. He doesn't want to get defended and beats himself up hopelessly from his past mistake. But it's been 5 YEARS. He has a girlfriend now, for a while, he loves her, she isn't a minor. He very clearly wasn't who he once was. Are you serious saying it's okay to cuss someone for their past mistakes, blame them endlessly and never look at what good they've accomplished after that? To acknowledge the good they've become? I find ZeRo's treatment horrible and extremely simple-minded. "What's bad stays bad.", "Once a person makes a mistake, they're a bad person, period." Are you seriously thinking it's okay to think like that? That people never change? That you should neglect a person's identity based on a past mistake? This world is crap. Filled with flawed humans. And that's okay. We all make mistakes. But if we're constantly only look at the bad and ignore the change.. How will the world be any better? I think it's up and beyond toxic people judge ZeRo this much because of his past, in which it's obvious he isn't like that anymore. Are there no good people anymore who can see the good in others? And besides all that, I'm 19. My life is a mess. I don't know what I'm doing. And I'm sure as hell he didn't either, back then. But, I will say one thing for him: I don't blame him. There are girls of a minor age who look like entering their twenties. And there are 18 year old girls who literally look like a kid of 7 years old. I find flirting with that 18-year old much more disgusting than the 14-year old in that case. I live elsewhere, and it's a lot less illegal. I don't know what she looked and acted like.. but, whatever it is, even if it was with less good intentions, it's in the past. He isn't like that anymore. Some said "ZeRo already went to therapy and he said in his videos it didn't help him much." Which I find a horrible argument because he was talking about his self-confidence and happiness, not his mistakes. It's clear he beats himself up over it and hasn't done them since. Must we really continue to hate him for something he is not anymore? Must we really believe that an individual is forever bad if they messed up in the past? If you really think that is a "yes", then I believe you are a bad person yourself. I don't think it's okay to cancel others. And I sure as hell don't find it okay to neglect the change for the better.
@@ihatetheinternetitsawesome I am one of them. ZeRo is an inspiration to me. I have known the guy being on the media for years. So what? There's one big difference between me and them: I know he's human. It was very likely he could have made mistakes in the past. But the ZeRo now, is still ZeRo. He hasn't changed. Him taking forever to confess his sins is understandable for me, considering his lack of confidence. I would find it very hard to share too, especially if I lacked self-confidence. Once he'd confess, people would go crazily toxic against him. That's the internet. That's humanity. It's scary. I cannot imagine how hard and painful it must've been. He was suffering over his mistake, and.. the fact that he truly regrets it makes me see he's still the ZeRo I look up to.
Oh, he hasn't played "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky" This game is just... incredible. The music is just something else, the story is incredible too. Everyone who played it can confirm. I can tear up just thinking about it music 20:03 you pretty much just described it
All of the PMD games have great music (Even Gates to Infinity) I love how those games implement the leitmotif to their music. It's so epic and memorable.
Yes, exactly. I still cry today the way i did as a 7 yo while playing the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon serie. The soundtracks are very immersive, nicely orchestrated and nicely timed. They bring up so many emotions. It really makes you feel as if you're living the same things the characters are. The whole serie is just prodigious. I'm so glad to have found someone who think likewise. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
If the ProJared debacle taught me anything, it's not to immediately bandwagon against everyone accused of terrible actions. However, I can't in good conscience continue to support this channel until all the evidence is presented and the final word is said on the subject.
@@thecrimsondragon2379 Well they jumped to conclusions. scrolling down into the comments here i completely forgot there was shit happening when this was uploaded. everyone was too distracted to yell at alax for saying that megalovania has sans's leitmotif when megalovania had been a running thing in toby fox's works for like 10 years before sans existed, and is in fact one of the few songs in undertale that doesnt contain any leitmotifs at all. the smash bros version has some thrown in at the end but undertale's version is completely leitmotif free

=/ what
PK Artstorm 2 it basically means Badeline’s theme is a meaner version of Madeline’s theme, and when they go together it sounds great.

A couple of solutions

People are a lot more mature then the people in Projared's comment section.

*R E C I E P T S*
17:53 I personally loved the botw sound track and stands to me as one of the best usages of music in a video game it's so goshdang beautiful!
i remember being at a music class, i was playing megalovania on an instrument, my teacher heard it and said "stop that, it isn't real music".
he had a bad time.
First: what instrument?
Secondly: This means the teacher played Undertale Genocide Route, because that's the only way he would know it's from a video game.
@@UnfinishedCombStudios Or he knows it because it's become a super recognizable song.
Also, I would liked to see something related to Silvagunner (about leitmotif)
That's all, I'm not trying to be rude, I just want to clarify a thing.
I.. seriously, seriously do not like what people are doing.
@@ihatetheinternetitsawesome..and you just completely edited your comment.. Great. Time for another reply!
I...feel ya there man-
Alax: doesn't mention Miitopia
Me: (Blue Squiggle)
Green Pikmin I agree
Don't worry, he didn't say a single thing about minecraft
Miitopia music is soooooooooooooooo underrated
Don't ever disrespect Knuckles by comparing him to Doja cat ever again.
I support this notion.
Nice profile pic, haha
I hate how I automatically read “knuckles” as “kuh-nuckles”

Oh, he hasn't played "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky"
This game is just... incredible. The music is just something else, the story is incredible too.
Everyone who played it can confirm. I can tear up just thinking about it music
20:03 you pretty much just described it
All of the PMD games have great music (Even Gates to Infinity)
I love how those games implement the leitmotif to their music. It's so epic and memorable.
I have so many special memories with PMD2.

That's very mature
@@MrBigBand0 how many links have you posted? my problem isn't that you are spreading the good word, its how you are treating those who were wrong.

Well they jumped to conclusions.
They deserve to be spoken down to if they are going to be that early to white knight a "female victim" who has no evidence, is treating herself as a perfect angel, and is talking about a "rape case" from a freaking year ago.
She won't respond,
Is blocking literally everyone who is talking to her,
Deletes youtube comments,
And unlike Alax, won't explain her side through a well structured video.
She is breaking under pressure,
9 times out of 10 means she's doing this for clout because cancel culture and accusing people of assault is "super trendy".
@@philswiftdestroyerofworlds1988 I wasn't white knighting her I just thought her info was correct because Alax refused to present any until now. No one deserves to be spoken down (smugly) to for being wrong and admitting they are wrong. All I wanted was to help a victim, I had no clue it was alax due to lack of evidence supporting him. Are you one of his simps too?
Oh yes, DDLC was the best game I've played when it comes to music to suit the mood of the situation. I'm surprised you didn't talk about Void's battle in Kirby Star Allies, dang that was synchronized deep music. Anyway, I enjoyed your analysis like usual!
Whenever I think of video game music evoking a feeling, I always think of Dearly Beloved, specifically from the Kingdom Hearts II main menu.

As a lover of game music, I appreciate this video. I hope it gets respected as artists obviously put in a lot of work to set the stage and sell the scene.
Well, to the nostalgia part: I just re-created Polyanna from Earthbound in Garageband, but I've never actually *played* earthbound. I love a lot of tracks from so many games I've never played, so it goes beyond nostalgia sometimes.

scrolling down into the comments here i completely forgot there was shit happening when this was uploaded. everyone was too distracted to yell at alax for saying that megalovania has sans's leitmotif when megalovania had been a running thing in toby fox's works for like 10 years before sans existed, and is in fact one of the few songs in undertale that doesnt contain any leitmotifs at all. the smash bros version has some thrown in at the end but undertale's version is completely leitmotif free
I was surprised when you didn't mention Hat in Time when you were talking about leitmotifs.
uhhhh wasn't megalovania composed way before undertale was even a thought in toby's mind? that was a mistake alax...
well he had megalovania in mind, toby made the song sans from the same notes to use as a friendlier version of sans' leitmotif
yeah sans was composed from megalovania
