windows vista looks amazing even in 2021, i like how windows 10 has embraced the dark taskbar from vista and aero animation, wish windows 10 had much more transparent effect around the os
I can definitely relate to that, besides, Windows vista was the first one introducing the aero themes to Windows and the big changes. I could never upgrade my computer to Vista because of the requirements and I had to use Xp back on those years. Now I work with Windows 10, but I have Vista installed on my VirtualMachine. I love It.
I hate Windows XP. The reasons why I hate her is: Windows XP has the DUM error sound Windows XP is so slow (same experience with Vista SP1 and Windows 7.) Windows XP is not supported on new PCs Windows XP is so unstable and glitchy and whenever I use Discord, sound screeches occur. Windows XP does not let me search the internet just by file search using the File Search. Windows XP does not have Solitaire. Windows XP cannot handle more than 4GB RAM. Especially XP tan.
@@aroraakshaj70I liked the Metro UI, but only in Windows 8 & 8.1. The tablet-like interface didn't matter to me since I was able to set it up with pinned shortcuts of programs I frequently use. Plus the shortcuts of the interface were convenient for me particularly Win + X for the context menu at the lower left of the display and Win + C for the Charms bar were I could search (that actually works for local files and programs unlike in Windows 10), adjust some settings (network, sound, etc) and change display options (which is convenient when doing presentations)
@@thespermsharkthespermwhale1938 Ejem, your reasons are really stupid. The reason is: Yes, it can support more than 4 gb, mine had 6 ram. Is not slow, actually, i was able to play all my childhood games on that computer. Obviously, Windows XP Doesn't support new gaming applications because of his antiquity... but if you played any game back in the day, you would cry of joy of how the games and fast the system was. I actually played Solitaire in Windows XP, in fact, there were more versions of that game. Obiously, discord appeared in 2014, when Windows XP was dying, It cannot run propperly on that system.
As someone who used Windows 95/98/98SE/XP/Vista/7/8 & 8.1/10, I found vista fantastic. I was always very technically inclined, and Vista really wasn't that hard to use imo. It also had some wonderful features that I loved even on a slow PC, like LIVE backrounds natively support for free. That feature was such a shock to my system. I hadn't really saw anything so "future" feeling out of the many OS's I tried at the time. I loved it. It also worked fine for most things if you didn't have the bare minimum specs. A lot of people didn't want to buy a new PC, but expected old and already 5 year old out of date hardware to run this new beautiful thing perfectly. Simply have 2gb of ram total allowed you have a very fluid experience. I would also say, Microsoft was very quick to update many things. The major service packs took a big longer, but micro updates kept it quickly running very well. It also was better for gaming, regardless of what people said about it. If you had an up-to-date system, which most PC gamers usually kept up with, it worked very very well. Similar to why for a long time and even now people talk about how fantastic Win7 was for gaming. TL;DR I loved it.
Windows 7 was pretty much the perfected version of Vista. Out of every Windows I've used, XP and 7 were my most favorite ones. Vista was ok, 8 was disastrous, and 10 has it's fair share of bugs and unwanted software. I know a family member who still uses Vista, and it's SP3. Works well, but they only use it to store family pictures and stuff.
There was never any official SP3 for Vista. That said, I had very few if any complaints about Vista after SP2. It even ran fine on my 2007 HP laptop that had only 1GB RAM. Windows 7 was definitely a much better upgrade, though.
I liked Windows Vista, despite the history of the operating system. Windows Vista Aero theme is the best of all time, even though Windows 7 is the same, Vista had the edge for me personally with the black tone scheme over the silver gray color scheme of Windows 7. At 4:35 the Windows Vista Aero changed to Windows Vista Basic.
Whats funny is vista was quite literally meant to be a stepping stone to windows 7. My fam used to have a pc with windows vista on it, it wasnmt generally unstable or slow or anything so idk
In fact, Windows 7 is and even versions after that are based on the Vista kernel, hence why 7, 8 and Windows 10 betas used the major version of 6 (Vista), with only the minor version changing. Vista's core lives on even today :D
Windows 7 is pretty much a Windows Vista but is designed to be more 'stable'. It also has some small changes there and there but is pretty much the same.
@Maru Angelo Maglalang Santos They’re not that different. Windows 7 only really had stability improvements and a few new features added/removed. Overall 7 and Vista are similar and some things are literally the same and nothing has been changed like sounds for example.
I use windows vista today and it doesn’t crash on me not a single crash it’s so cool I got weird random working windows updates and it’s updating last year and this year
Windows Vista is my favorite and it is literally the only one that focuses on the vision for when it was known as 'Longhorn'. There will never be another operating system so major, so revolutionary as Windows Vista.
I never had problems with windows vista. I remember in high school we had just upgraded to vista not sure if it was pre-/post update but I liked it never experienced any issues. I feel so challenged using Windows 10, every other time I want to use my laptop I have to update it. 40% of the time I use my laptop its updating
Vista was unusable for me until SP2, and by then I was completely fed up with it. I jumped onto 7 the first moment I could and never looked back. I would still run 7 today if I safely could.
Now in 2020, I'm guessing you have a somewhat present day computer and monitor. Because of this, Vista can work absolutely fine. Before 2007 or just 2007 computers, the operating system struggled to work because it was too powerful.
vista was ahead of its time, the computers at that time could not handle the operating system therefore the operating system was completely unstable. this operating system can work pretty fine on present day computers
I have one system running sp2 64 bit vista ultimate with direct x11 support and 32 bit vista ultimate with direct x11 support , both are running very smooth and reminds me of windows 7 a ton , in fact 64 bit vista can run just about as much as 7 64bit , theres a few things it won't run that 7 will but its very few things , that direct x11 update on vista made it work on a lot more things than xp , on the 32bit version i can enjoy all my disc games like i do on my xp systems
My first computer was a laptop, it introduced me to Windows vista I never had any issues with vista. Then again the laptop was a power house at the time with 4gb of vram and a core 2 quad.
If I were to choose my main os out of the 3 you gave me it would be Windows 7, Windows XP would be my alternative and then I would never touch shitsta ever again
Vista was bad at compatibility because microsoft tried to scrap the legacy code in pursuit of that, drivers which previously had no issues working on various versions had to be rewritten by devs sometimes even from scratch. This made much of the hardware unstable in early days
I never understood why Vista would be bad, many issues where just because of bad drivers. I would still prefer Windows 7 but only because Programms support it better.
I personally like Windows Vista more than Windows 10 because it like a nicer interface. But from Windows Xp, Vista, 7, 10, I would choose Windows 7 because the interface is beautiful there, like in Vista and even more refined, there is better stability and optimization, and at the same time many modern programs go there and good more or less modern hardware is supported .
@sASi_ItA11 Primarily due to ram, disk, and processor usage of "system processes" (to put it kindly), with a lot of those services, particularly when the built-in metro apps of 10 aren't used aren't necessary, but can't be disbled without digging through the registry. But the changes get reverted by updates. If you run 10 and have decently powerful hardware and an ssd, its probably ok, but running it on a hard drive and lower-end pcs is an exercise of frustration and long wait times. Like what the other person said about unwanted apps being automatically installed, that despite being uninstalled reinstall themselves after a major feature update (ex. Windows 10 20H1 to 20H2 update). Then there's the updates that aren't selectable anymore like in Windows 7~8.1 where optional and feature updates could be skipped and don't automatically restart the computer without the user's consent. Data Collection and Telemetry that is done in the background despite all settings for it being "off" and in turn wastes limited bandwidth. Control Panel options being "migrated" to the Settings app while control and features are stripped off. Search being practically useless for files & programs and instead shows web resuls and not what's locally on the comouter first. Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 was way better at this, and despite 8 and 8.1 having the feature of searching online they had a "Search the Internet" option if the user wants to. Automatic Driver Installs, installing wrong drivers or old drivers. This is particularly a problem because a lot of people don't install most drivers apart from typical ones like for the graphics card, and relying on Windows 10 automatically find the drivers for other drivers (i.e. storage controller, chipset, network adapters) can be really hit or miss and cause system instability by having the wrong drivers, generic drivers, or old drivers that may have bugs or security vulnerabilities. The list goes on but these are just a few. If I had to choose the most "usable" version of Windows 10 I've used it would be 1607, though I had to debloat it and its still significantly heavier on system resources compared to Windows 8.1.
Vista Ready Badges on Win XP computers were a lie and the computer manufactures knew it. As bad as buying a new Vista machine was; the upgraders were totally snakebit! You better pray that your XP FULL backup works or you have to reload from scratch!
