Honestly, if this game is a success, I wouldn’t mind continuing the adventures of Indiana Jones in video game series form with Troy Baker as a “recast” Indiana Jones. He does an amazing job in the role and I could see him voicing the character going forward if Lucasfilm chooses to proceed to make more games. Especially since it’s very clear that the series cannot continue in movie form due to Harrison Ford’s age and since he’s so iconic as the character, it would be very jarring to see someone else in the role in future movies. At least with games, we can have Troy’s voice with Harrison Ford’s likeness.
Troy did a tremendous job on sounding just like the "right" amount of Indiana Jones, considering that Sir Harrison Ford's voice differs quite a bit from Troy's normal voice and HF's voice old school pre WWII Illinois accent is a very difficult one to mimic, while Troy's natural modern day generic texan is more of a "standard" all-american TV presenter accent. Interestingly enough both men have quite a facial resemblance, when you look closely.
There are idiots out there who for decades have thought that Bugs Bunny is voiced by a computer, like you just type in the words and call it a day. I know old people who think that doing voices isn't something people actually do.... until John Travolta or someone does it and then suddenly they're in awe. Fucking idiots who think that the only actors in existence are the Hollywood scumbags and no one else. They probably also think that Earth is the only planet in existence and that Obama was the first US president.
he's not a voice actor goddamn this term in gaming has been outdated for a decade now, they perform the character as well, these people are fully fledged actoes, like roger clark or nolan north
Ford has a richer bass tone than Troy and that comes through when he ups the volume. But DAMN is that close. Well done Mr. Baker (as if he wasn’t one of the biggest names in gaming)
Not quite the grovel on the low end, but this is none the less one of the best voice impersonations out there. Without the side by side, I'd not even notice.
I’m an aspiring actor and whenever I hear Troy Baker I always feel so discouraged. It reminds me of how competitive the world is. The fact that there’s somebody as good as him out makes me feel so inadequate lol.
Ikr! It can definitely be daunting when seeing what diverse talent is out there but I believe the best approach is to use it as assurance of the endless possibilities that can reveal themselves to you if you try hard enough and persevere. Stay strong friend and try not to let anyone’s results detract from your potential. You got this!
Bryson Baugus, a voice actor once told me. "Most importantly, emphasize 'Act' in voice-acting. You must act not impersonate, become the character in your own way. But you must be an actor first then the voice will come to you"
I grew up watching the original movies. Watched them all, with the exception of the most recent one. This game is pretty damn good so far and the voice actor has done an amazing job.
Had no idea this was Troy Baker’s voice until just a few days ago. This is a DAMN GOOD Harrison Ford impersonation. Really looking forward to playing this
Dude literally killed Harrison's voice I had to search of he voiced in the game then seen it was troy I was freaking out I love troy tlou has been my fav game since I was 12 in 2013 and then I played BioShock infinite like a year or two later and found out he was booker as well troy is genuinely such a sweet guy as well glad he got this role and fuck Todd Howard apparently he almost didn't pick troy
he's doing so well I didn't even question it until about 10h into the game, like wait a minute, old harrison ford doesn't sound like that anymore does he :D
It’s pretty close, but when Harrison starts speaking rapidly, and in a lower tone, especially when he threatens people, his voice becomes less rough, and low key, and more normal pitch and straight forward Still, a very good, close impression.
It's different, but that's not a bad thing. I think going for a complete 1:1 is a recipe for driving yourself batty. It's the right vibe, in Troy's voice.
Given that Troy is using a studio with studio conditions and a lot of Fords work was done in the field, he nailed it. Comparing studio recordings of Ford from interviews and close mic work, he is dead on perfect! NPC AI jank aside, this game should get some awards!! A lot of fun and funny too!! (Jank included) Exactly what you would expect from Dr. Jones and company.
if you just listen and not watch the video clues and if weren't for the recording quality giving several of Harrison's VO away, you'd be hard-pressed to continue to guess who was who!
Like you obviously know it’s Troy Baker doing a Harrison Ford impression but he nailed it down closely as he could but it sounds stiff in some places but still good. But Anthony Ingruber, who just so happened to play a Young Harrison Ford in Age of Adaline, does a fantastic Impression of Harrison Ford
I think he did EXTREMELY well. Harrison's Indy is already extremely, extremely difficult to emulate or imitate. He's singular in both tone and presence. Troy was able to channel him quite convincingly. There are a few lines where it sounds and feels like Troy, but overall, i think he did very good. Much better than all other video game Indy/Han Solo VAs I have heard.
Troy Baker did an amazing job, but there is something missing. The environmental sounds like water falling or the crackling of a torch that would've been picked up by the on-set microphones from the films isn't mixed in properly with Baker's performance, making it sound like an overdub instead of Indy's voice in the moment. Haven't played the game, so I don't know what the sound design is overall, but that is what I'm getting from this comparison.
Troy Baker is the worthy successor to Indiana Jones after Harrison Ford After that disaster that was Dial of Destiny, I'm so glad The Great Circle has revived faith in this franchise 😃
Yes you can hear Troy in some lines but the point is the cadence of Harrison Ford as Indy and that's exactly what he did
That's a shame, because that just means, that your ears aren't that good.
@mrblonde609 sick burn
Yeah, it's perfect. I didn't think it was great from the trailer but seeing clip, it is exactly what it needs to be
Honestly, if this game is a success, I wouldn’t mind continuing the adventures of Indiana Jones in video game series form with Troy Baker as a “recast” Indiana Jones. I hope it is. A lot of people were pretty negative on it expecting something closer to Ubislop, but game looks awesome.
they are sitting on a goldmine
I would also like to see other movies like Jurassic park and national treasure
Young Indiana Jones is the way to go.
You're in luck. It IS a success.
He's got a slightly higher tone, but Troy definitely has Harrison's speech pattern down.
He could dial his tone down next time if he plays Indy if that ever happens
@batassassin7060 He most likely will seeing how lots of fans and gamers are eager to buy the game.
@@redemptionjack4657
“Buy” more like play it on gamepass
I definitely hear more Han Solo than Indy. But that's definitely a nailed impression.
I was trying to figure out what it was, but I couldn’t quite get it I was like it’s slightly off and you said it perfectly exactly what it was
Soo well done by Troy baker
It’s damn near perfect.
Agreed I had to look up who did his voice cause I actually thought it was Harrison Ford
@@sholva6809lol Harrison Ford has a growly old man voice now. He can't even sound like his younger self anymore.

Only time where it’s very noticeable is when he screams but trying to simulate an actors scream is nearly impossible. He was perfect for this role.
Troy Baker is talented
He’s one of the best voice actors this current generation
Hell of a performance by Troy Baker, he sounds so much like Harrison Ford. I've never seen someone do an impression of Harrison that well.
Just when you thought that Troy Baker’s range couldn’t get more further:
Its not new range
@@ЯрославНаймушинOh be quiet
just when you thought grammar couldn't get more butchered

Sir Harrison Ford lol. He wasn't knighted...Maybe in the nerdingdom he was
"Sir?" He's not even British.

@@Sean-cz77Lol... He was "knighted" as a digital Avatar
Lol Ford isn't a Sir...

Can we get Troy Baker to to voice Han Solo in a 3rd person action adventure like Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor?? That'd be amazing.
Well, this is a heck of an audition tape.
@BlueHooloovoo for an amateur impersonator at the local bar maybe 🤡
@frankwren8215 Aww are you jealous?
I can't get over how good he is at the voice

the actor*
Lol Troy he is everywhere. When I met him he gave me a high five. Such a great dude.

I heard Troy Baker's voice in the first reveal trailer, tbh. But he is very close and is definitely great for the role.
The thumbnail hurts my soul cause you know damn well the reference image is from Temple of Doom 😭
I was just about to comment this. I like you for noticing this, too!
Troy Baker is too talented. Tell him to leave some talent for the rest of us!! 😂
He's done an incredible job, yet again.
Troy Baker could voice every major character in a game, male and female, and nobody would ever know lol
He's just that good.
except for James Sunderland
He actually voices the Subaru Impreza in Gran Turismo 7
I was a bit unsure about how faithful this game would be but this video has done a lot to sell me on it. Pretty amazing!

Troy did a great job as Indiana Jones. Similar tone to be clearly honest.
He did so well
Indy's voice in the game is like Joel without the Arlington, Texas accent.
I can tell the difference but he's doing a GREAT job.
He did a splendid and fantastic job on doing an Harrison Ford impression! Ford would be proud of him.
It's weird because it's not really a Ford impression, is an Indy one. Hard to explain but it's all on the cadence.
@@AlexGonzalez-gf4oztrue
Damn, that's impressive!
Well done video, by the way!
All I hear is Troy Baker but I'm glad most people seem to like it. Its hard not to recognize him after hearing his voice for over 12 years.
I have a hard determining VAs from one another, so I just heard a really good Harrison Ford impression.

You can hear more anger in Harrison s voice to wear troys sound like a calm chill version you know !?
It’s scarily accurate!
how about they reboot the movies and add troy baker cuz he sounds soo good
He's so damn good here. Gives me chills sometimes.
so many times while i play the game that i completely forget it is troy speaking and not harrison ford, incredible performance
A definite match, they should cast troy in future games involving ford
Indy,star wars,blade runner
Although anthony ingruber is a close runner up
Honestly mind boggling how similar it is
Troy as a Batman and now Indiana Jones
It’s easy to overlook the minor differences in the voice when everything else is spot on
Extremely well done. Can't really tell the difference. Thanks Troy!!!
insane how similar his voice is oml
Damn good job, great video game! Made me feel like a kid watching Indiana Jones for the first time again.
I had to actually google the cast because I thought this was Harrison.
He did it so well. While playing I was not at all reminded that it was not Ford.
Troy is like a voice chameleon, very impressive
He sounded exactly as Indiana Jones is supposed to sound. Best actor of Games.

Troy definitely recreated that bellowy thickness that Ford has when he's talking loudly or yelling.
even the mumble after every speech is spot on.
