Bought my 800MT sport for £6799 pick up first week in August from Midwest moto and they have one left that was there demonstrator . Sold my 1200GS put£300 to it got an 800mt brand new with a 4 year warranty what’s not to like . Absolutely looking forward to picking it up and proving the doubters wrong !!

I've raised that with dave (Bingley Wheeler) but he's seems unconcerned over it, relying on the 4 year warranty, but given that MCN have called out KTM over this issue on the 790-890 engine, and there is a Facebook group called ktm camshaft failures I'd say this is more than a rumor, whether this might happen to the engine in cfmoto remains to be seen. 🤷🏻♂️
@@1990-t1j well it would certainly raise a concern in my mind, and even if they are cheaper than others six to 8 grand is not to be taken lightly, but I guess we'll see in the fullness of time 😉

Good Morning Dave , What a stunning ride out today , who can blame people for getting a new chinese bike for the money they can't be beaten & lets face it we all want more for our money , so take care & ride safe

Bit late to this. Great ride Dave. Looks and sounds awesome on a big telly. These CF Moto’s seem like cracking bikes to me. Four year warranty, bloody hell, awesome. Alleged faults on bikes can be worrying for some. I suppose it’s all about risk perception, if you like. Just coz a certain model bike has a particular fault doesn’t mean all bikes will experience it. With a four year warranty your safe anyway. Most people don’t keep a bike four years anyway; must admit I tend to though. Just my opinion; for what that’s worth; it certainly wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me though; but, each to their own. Really enjoyed the vid Dave, thanx for entertaining us as always. Ride safe Bud.
@@christyrer9530 I assume this is the Sport model. They didn't sell as well as the Touring and seem to be heavily discounted to shift the last few in the system.
If you want the luggage, heated grips and a centre stand, that will bring the price up to around the £8600 mark and thats without the impressive spoked gold wheels so I went for the Touring MT myself :)
I picked my 450MT up 10 days ago, it is a quality bike, really well put together, well thought out, the 450 engine has been out for a while with no known issues, so I expect it to be pretty reliable, 4 year warranty helps. I am lucky, my local KTM dealer are excellent, the dealer principle really cares about his customers, unlike some.
@@graemetaylor629 I think you are confusing quality of build with long term reliability. The 450MT is really well made, just as good as my Tenere World Raid, or my Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx.
How are you getting on with the `fly by wire` throttle ? Still not happy with mine and the quick shifter is a hit and miss smooth change - hope a few more miles will sort things out .
Exactly right Dave There may have been in the past but the engine in 800MT has been altered since 2022 with bigger oil ways and slightly re designed cam set up. I personally think it’s a case of sticks and stones. People will do anything not to accept it’s a good bike because it’s Chinese. Done suppose the same people have ever had a faulty phone crash on them lol. I love my explore mate. Keep up the good work
It is pretty difficult to get parts for 10 year old Chinese Lexmoto/Sinnis bikes so do you think there will be parts and support for the latest Chinese bikes in 10 years. However, I have confidence in British/Japanese/German/Italian/Indian/American bike suppliers providing support as they already do that, but as for Chinese suppliers - not so sure.
This is something missed in this saga. CF Moto has not put the KTM 790 engine in their 800 series, it’s a licensed design manufactured and assembled by CF Moto, and the 450 is a new CF Moto engine anyway. No evidence of camshaft issues on the CF engines. Whether the KTM 890 engines are genuinely free of the issue is something only KTM can answer. The underlying issue in all of this is that a) KTM have a reputation for unreliability and b) a reputation for poor customer service and denying warranty claims. Whilst I expect the volume of actual problems has been overstated their response to MCN is confusing, contradictory and to be frank a touch arrogant. Unfortunately these days, perception is everything. I’d love the CF Moto 450 but the Honda NX500 is not that far away price wise with discount, I don’t need off-roading or a 21” front wheel, I don’t prefer the 270deg crank and the Honda engine is both fun and super solid and reliable, plus it has 8K mile service intervals. If I was on a tight budget thought the CF would be perfectly OK, and the possibility of lowering the seat height to 800mm is actually quite appealing as the Honda is a touch tall.
Yeah , someone at CF Moto has messed up for sure , can't get the 450 MT from any main dealers in the south of England . First batch gone , second batch Oct and all taken , and if you order now you won't get one until probably Feb 2025 . What a cock up ! I've gone out this week a bought something else , not waiting 6 months for a 450 , no matter how good the reviews.
Regarding japanese competiton: T7 is overweight and overpriced VS MT800 MT450 basically has no competion since the cb500X died when honda axed it for the NX500 which has looks only a mother can love... nuff said.
Wonder what you feel about all that bad publicity given by Freddie Dobbs, the motorbike press and social media regarding camshaft problems on the KTM engine. Not a good look it certainly puts me off buying any bike fitted with that engine and is very damaging to the brand KTM and any bike closely related to them.
I’m yet to see any convincing evidence re the MY 2021 on engines….funny how the critics can’t tell you what overall percentage of bikes are affected so far….not that many would be my guess
As far as I understand KTM are very reluctant to agree there is infact a problem and not owning up to your mistakes is bound to cause scepticism with owners and potential buyers.

Hi Dave,
Did you consider the Karoo Street tyres instead of the Karoo 4?
