I’ve just been watching a few of your videos which I came across by accident. Firstly I’d like to say thank you for posting as I enjoyed hearing your storey. Whilst I live in the U.K. I have a son and his family over there in Victoria. I’d love to get out there to live but I’ve looked into it and it’s a very difficult process at my age 64 but hopefully I’ll get out on a 5 year visa in the not too distant future. I must say you are spot on with your life observations, motorcycles are a great escape from day to day life and have kept me sane for a long time now(47 years). I’ve got a BMW 1250 rt and a Moto Guzzi V7 850 but I will give them both up to live over there and have something like your CF moto. Good luck to you, keep enjoying your riding. Whilst your riding there’s no stress of life to worry about so ride as much as possible.take care over there
Thanks for the comment! I hope you can make it over here. My wife and in-laws are from the UK so we’re actually planning on visiting your neck of the woods early next year! Thanks so much for watching and enjoy the Guzzi and the BMW!
Great to hear you are still loving your complete package. Extending your riding season is such a wonderful advantage of your bike. The way that cyclone just ripped through Mirboo North was terrifying, to see all those trees that just got snapped in half demonstrates the power of nature.
I went from an FTR to the ibex😂 definitely a different experience but in my personal experience it’s a lot nicer of a ride. I do agree that the fueling could be better but I think Main Street cycle offers a tune.
The fuelling isn't too smooth under 3500 rpm, the quick shifter is a little temperamental, the menu system is a little tricky until you get used to it and it would be nice to have the tyre pressures on the main screen instead of having to go looking for them. I've hit a few false neutrals when doing lazy changes but apart from those few items a good bike for the money.
Thanks mate! I’m keen to try the Mitas E-07 - I’ve only heard good things and they sound like a good offering for the type of riding I like to do. Likewise, let me know if you have any recommendations 😊
The KTM engine with all its cam shaft problems really puts me off this bike. I know it's got a 4 year warranty but that doesn't ease my misgivings on this engine.
CFMOTO corrected the camshaft issue and there haven’t been any issues with them since they began using them in this platform as far as I know. There are some really good technical drawings getting around showing the differences in the cylinder head in the CFMOTO and current KTM’s and the ones experiencing the camshaft failure. I also read that only .2% of the 790 engines have been impacted by this issue - don’t quote me on that though. It could be KTM spin.
@@benplaysbass2491 Hey, any chance you could put up a link to those technical drawings you speak of? I've been exhausting myself on Google trying to find them and got no luck.
@@shortattentionspangarage1312 meanwhile, here’s a link to an MCN article stating that the issue was resolved in 2020/21 prior to the release of the 800MT: www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2024/july/ktm-camshaft-defects/

It must’ve taken quite a bit of editing to turn footage from my bike into something useable and fit for public consumption!

@@shortattentionspangarage1312 hmmm, me also. If I find them I’ll link them here. If I found them once I can find them again.
