- Xinjiang China. We had heard about the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang in the news and most of what gets reported is usually negative.
We decided to travel to Urumqi in Xinjiang China to see the daily life of the local people especially the Uyghur Muslims with our own eyes. Being foreigners, we were not sure if we would be allowed to enter Xinjiang or not.
Join us as we take you around the largest province in China. Welcome to Urumqi in Xinjiang.

I like your video very much. If you are still in Xinjiang, I strongly recommend you to go to "Ili City" in Xinjiang. There is "Sayram Lake" next to Ili City. It is the most famous scenic spot in China. You can use Google to search for "sayram lake china” can be found at this location, which is open to visitors from all over the world.

You have obviously identified the street signs and shop signs almost always contain Uyghur language scripts. I believe this is the greatest argument against Western medias slandering Chinese government conducting ethnic clenching against the Uyghurs. Would Hitler allow Hebrew writing on the Berlin street and shop signs during the Holocaust?

In 2009, terrorism supported by the United States entered Xinjiang from overseas and attacked civilians in Urumqi, setting fires, smashing, and indiscriminately attacking civilians on the streets. At that time, my classmate's girlfriend was hiding in a clothing store, and I was studying in Beijing at that time. Fortunately, his girlfriend was fine. Now Xinjiang is the safest place in the world, and the West is very angry that their conspiracy did not succeed, so they smear China and smear Xinjiang. Another reason is that the quality of Xinjiang cotton is the best in the world, which is despised by the West and affects the interests of Jewish tycoons. Therefore, the United States uses lies to strangle the economy of Xinjiang people

500 million dollars. That's the sum of money the US congress planned to allocate to churn out negative news coverage on China. First reported by American Prospect on Feb. 9, the bill was stuffed into the China-centered America COMPETES Act that just got passed by the US House of Representatives earlier this month. A majority of the half-billion-dollar fund will go to the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM), a state-run media service that oversees Voice of America (VOA), Radio Free Europe (RFE), and Radio Free Asia (RFA), which have a record of "blurring the line between objective news coverage and pro-American propaganda," the article wrote.

It's amusing how the west can't even keep their lies consistent. First, they said there were 2 million slaughtered. Then they changed their script saying people weren't killed but were forced into cotton picking. Now their narrative took a wild turn again, claiming that the local languages and religions are being destroyed. Next they are probably gonna make up a story about the LGBTQ+ community being forcefully deported to grow potatoes on mars.

We are so confused by the false news portrayed by Western media. Thank you for showing the world the most authentic Urumqi. However, if you come to Xinjiang for travel, I strongly recommend visiting Altay region in winter, where the scenery is breathtaking. Skiing enthusiasts from all over the country come here every year. In summer, you can go to the Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, which boasts the most beautiful grasslands and lakes in China. Genocide in Xinjiang is a simple lie. In 1949, the Uyghur population was only 3 million, with an average life expectancy of only 30 years, and almost no college students. But now, the Uyghur population in Xinjiang is 13 million, with an average life expectancy of 79 years. A considerable number of young Uyghurs have received higher education. China's most popular female star, Dilireba, is also a Uyghur. Are these changes caused by genocide policies? On the contrary, the Chinese government has done a lot of support for Xinjiang.
The Chinese of Indian citizens at Calcutta is really considered as Genocide, with 50,000 population in 1962 become less than 2000 population in 2024... Please, this really can become a universal research paper what was the reasons behind for the University master students.
@@bieke780 If there were only 170,000 Uyghurs in Xinjiang, you would hardly see them on the streets. But the reality is clearly not like that.
@@syphonlo5112 I don't think this should be a policy of extermination. People are like flowing water, and nature selects places where it is relatively easy for them to survive and develop. The government's task is to ensure this mobility and to popularize education.

As a Chinese born and raised in China, I am now studying abroad. I must say that in Xinjiang, Tibet and other ethnic minority areas, people have a lot more benefits in their working life than in other areas. Ethnic minority students have extra points in college, and the pension is among the top three in the country. It is hard to imagine that the Western media should compare Xinjiang to Gaza where the massacre was inhumane?? 😡There are 56 ethnic groups in China, my mother is Hui and believes in Islam, and my father is Manchu. The harmonious life of all ethnic groups in China is never mentioned in Western media.😢

obviously haven't watched it all yet but I thought I'll give you a little back history. all the security is really legacy from extremists activity over a decade ago. there really hasn't been any incidents in the past ten years so it's as safe as anywhere else. before then, there were pretty horrible terrorist incidents throughout china, many caught on video but I'll spare you the details. what you see is how china dealt with it, with butter, not guns. build up infrastructure, provide services, jobs, etc in hopes a higher quality of life solves social issues. a lot of what china did was just twisted by the west. an example is providing education such as teaching mandarin so the locals could integrate more with the rest of china and thus have better business opportunities. this portrayed as 'cultural genocide' by western media. there are even worse examples of how things were twisted in such a way it's outright lies but enough of this. there is no perfect solution but it's better than dropping bombs. anyways enjoy your stay! xinjiang is actually a big tourist destination for local chinese.
I've been to Xinjiang for half a month,I can confirm that what you said is 100% TRUE!
Sadly so many believe the genocide narrative the West perpetuate

As a Chinese sometimes I really don’t understand western people feel unsafe when they see military or police in the cities. Chinese people would consider this the safest and most reliable security measure, more dependable than any commercial security services. In any dangerous situation, we are more likely to seek help from the police or military personnel. Because soldiers have strict regulations that absolutely forbid harming ordinary civilians. This makes it much safer compared to the frequent incidents of car break-ins or robberies.
thank you for telling the truth
Not “most controversial” but “most lied about” part of China.
I think Tibet can give Xinjiang a run for their money for the "most lied about" part of China.

the Uighurs seem to be in a better position than the Native Americans who have been living in the North American continent for thousands of years.
A real true statement.!!!👌👌👍👍👍✌✌✌
call me nitpicking. but i hv to point out your statement is not entirely correct. uighurs are not like native americans. they were not native to xinjiang. they were settlers too. they migrated from mongolian plateau to xinjiang around 900AD. han chinese began to rule and settle xinjiang in 200BC, which was 1000 yrs earlier than uighurs settled the region.
the thing is that xinjiang region of china has been a crossroad of multiple ethnicities and nomadic people in the past 2500 yrs. the earlist settlers of xinjiang were possibly proto east-persians. then chinese came in 200BC. then turkic tribes came. then chinese came again in 600AD. then uighurs came in 800AD. then mongols came in 1300AD. historically the region was ruled mostly by chinese, mongols, and various turkic tribes.
🤣😂👍👍❤
better? way different situation! The Uighurs are not regarded as "others“ in china.
As a Canadian i can certainly confirm that, it’s only in the past decade or 2 that our government has even started to consider them as human beings, we still had the last residential school didnt close down until the mid 90s
The uyghers have been treated drastically better by the chinese gov than what we’ve done to the natives of canada it’s not even remotely close

Literally no sign of genocide but as a Muslim who's been to China, I know that in Xinjiang religion is monitored but I can tell you it's waaaaay less monitored compared to the heavy monitoring in the USA and even Canada. A lot of terrorism took place in Xinjiang by US funded separatists and these same radicalized paid Uyghurs were sent to Syria to fight for ISIS to overthrow the Syrian govt and then returned to create more chaos. That's why you see the heavy police presence, it's sooooo much safer there now than it ever has been. I feel safer in China, than I do in vancouver downtown, you will never catch me walking downtown Vancouver. IF anyone is curious to see if a genocide is taking place in Xingjiang, simply read the bombshell report done by Grayzone and Adrian Senz (the paid for Islamophobic war monger who supports Israel) who made the report in the first place, based on the testimony of 8 separatists who were found to have ties to CIA funded groups. Let that marinate for anyone who's wondering where the genocide might be.
In fact, all religions are monitored in China, not just Islam. Buddhism and Christianity are also strictly monitored. Open-air Buddhist statues were required to be removed, and crosses on top of Christian churches were also removed.

No comparison 😂
@@fzmoifzmoi2575because the truth will hurt them.
I would also like to mention that because of the recent opening of the 144-hour visa to more countries, more friends are traveling to Xinjiang from all over the world. They wonder and are confused as to why they often see police officers patrolling and police cars patrolling in Xinjiang. This is because those violent terrorist attacks have caused too much damage to Xinjiang, and the presence of police vehicles makes it quicker to respond to unexpected situations.
Love how you always appreciate and respect local culture! Can’t wait for more
Thanks so much 🤩
Thank you for visiting! China welcomes everyone! Xinjiang has been invaded by terrorist attacks, so security is very strict. Please don't be biased against Muslims. My friends in Xinjiang told me that the original intention of Muslims is peace. Many terrorists do not read the Quran and just listen to the lies of jihad. Recently we have seen many students protesting against the government’s massacre. We Chinese know that children who live in information cocoons all year round are very courageous and just. Fortunately, China is also on the side of justice and is with you. Let’s support Palestine together and establish a two-state solution. China has experienced hundreds of years of aggression since the Opium War. Our homeland was also like Gaza. We were ruthlessly massacred. My hometown was bombed by Japan for five years and 10 months. I hope that the children of Palestine are as happy as the children of Xinjiang, and that the future of all bullied countries is as promising as that of China.
作为一个中国人,谢谢你们真实的报道了中国,祝你们玩的愉快!
Thanks for sharing ❤ will try to go on next vacation.
Rather than suppress which drives dissent underground, China provides a good life and the regular folk will defend their way of life against the extremists until they are gone. Pragmatism at its finest, and it works.
Great video showing reality. Well done!
MUSLIM FROM AFRICA IN SHANGHAI CHINA LOVES US AND WE LOVE THEM
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video clip. Best wishes to both of you. Cheers!🍻
I love that you guys are adventurous and always positive!
Thanks ☺️
Xinjiang is connected to several countries. Many years ago, foreign terrorists smuggled in and carried out terrorist attacks, causing harm to the people of Xinjiang. The police are responsible for protecting citizens. You don't have to be afraid if you don't do anything bad.
More armored vehicles and police outside any major university in the US oppressing peaceful students demonstrating against genocide in Gaza which the US supports
Innocents were forced into camps. Sick and evil. No due process. Why do you support children going into camps?
Very beautiful and peaceful city! Great video ! Please post more video clips. Thank you for your sincere ,honest observations and reporting of Xinjiang . More reporting about foods ,please !. The world need more peoples like both of you.
I am touring this part of Xinjiang with you guys. What an eye opening experience! Thank you.
Hope you enjoyed it!
I'm a Mongolian live in china. I'm a chinese too. My friend my naberhood my teacher my classmate we live together.we have Mongolian, korea ,han race ,manchu, and hui(Muslim).and other race. most of us care how to live more happyness. We don't give a shit about the hate.

The guy at the mosque gate said "it is not the time yet" while pointing to a "wrist watch".
I subscribed after your first China video but I found myself had to re-subscribe to your channel. RUclips is known to delete likes and subscribers from background. Even demonetize your uploads. So just be careful and take care, great works as usual!
and I suddenly found my account subscribed many channels that I never like, I never do that myself, I deleted at least 20 channels which subscribed by youtube for me
Welcome back! 😊
Your positive energy is unparalleled! I really love watching all of your videos cuz you always gave me such a positive feeling while traveling. You truly have an adventurous spirit and I love it!
Love this video, thanks for revealing the truth to western world
Thank you 🤩
The north of Xinjiang is also beautiful. There are many Mongolians there. You can go to Tianshan (天山, which means the Heaven Mountain), Kanas Lake (喀纳斯湖, which means beautiful and mysterious lake).
It sounds incredible 😊
Ty for bringing truth to this space.
XinJiang is the gateway to the BRI, so you can figure out why a particular western country wants to sow discord in the region.
Bravo to you guys for going there to see everything yourself. Wish more people will do that instead of watching fake news and judge the whole country. God bless and enjoy life guys 👍
I'm really happy to see you go to Xinjiang. The most beautiful scenery in Xinjiang is its natural scenery, so don't miss it.
It really is! 😊
The Queen visited Beijing in 1986, she had Xinjiang pear and loved it and called it the prince of the fruits 😊
yes. The pear of Xinjiang, named 库尔勒香梨, veeeeeryyyy juicy! Sweet, crunchy, almost no residue after chewing and the core is very small.
Yes! XiJiang is famous for fruits! Also watermelon, sweet melon, grapes… and so on! This because the temperatures in morning and at night are so different and it is good for fruits to accumulate sugar. Also, the fruits there are so cheap!! 🤤🎉
😊😊😊
Omg, there’re millions actors in Xinjiang and all excellent acting artists making Xinjiang looks so real and good.
All of them deserve at least the Oscar's best supporting actors/actresses awards.😂
Is that what the MSM is telling you or just naive?
😊😂😂

We had the same experience last September. Friendly people and good food and very affordable 👌
I love it when you say raw reality. AWESOME!!!
Thanks a lot 😊
Got some friends from Xinjiang, they passed the college entrance exams and now study in Shanghai😊There are no ethnic genocides for sure, they said it was control over terrorism. Years ago some terrorists hid bombs in crowded place and it took so many lives😢That's why you can see the security guard is more serious in Xinjiang than other places in China, we should never let it happen again
US has very strict control all over the places and arrested so many people after 9.11. When China arrested the terrorists in Xinjiang, the west accused China for genocide. Double standard!
The CCP regime has admitted that thousands of Uyghurs were forcibly sent to "reeducation camps" (and probably still are), the buildings exist and there are satellite images to prove this. They are actually concentration camps where the Uyghurs are sent to be indoctrinated with Xi Jinping Thought and other garbage CCP ideology, women have also been sterilised. They are not allowed to freely practice Islam or their culture, they only allow pretty dancers in the public square so dumb tourists lap it up and overlook the genocide behind the scenes. The CCP regime has also subsidised and made it easy for thousands of Han Chinese to move to Xinjiang to further dilute the Uyghur people. Their aim is to fully replace Xinjiang with Han Chinese, as is the case in Tibet.
我是台灣人,去過上海 蘇州 貴陽,新疆看來很棒,我之後也想去旅遊
The truth is, all of China is a part of the Taiwanese people also. We are all one family and China is our home. ❤️
除了西藏需要入藏许可证、只能跟团外,其它省份都可以随便自由行。

Xinjiang ladies are famous for their beauty, and there's a saying "There's a Gulnazar every 5 steps and a Dilraba every 10" in Xinjiang (五步一娜扎,十步一热巴). Both Gulnazar and Dilraba are famous Uyghur actresses known for their beauty and both are from Urumqi, with Dilraba described as the most beautiful actress in China.
Thanks for sharing!!! Welcome to China❤️
你们vlog 10次也不如BBC污蔑1次,但还是需要你们这样的旅行纪录!新疆很美,食物也美!欢迎来中国!

Kudos to both of you in highlighting to world the actual situations in Xinjiang. Shame to those journalists who smear China with unfounded lies and falsehoods. Just how low can they go.
Thank you for sharing the real beautiful XJ of China to the world. Got to go visit China soon.
This is very interesting. Truth about Xinjiang! I shared it with my friends in the US. Looking forward to more episodes you post In Xinjiang!
Got any feedback from your friends? How they react to what they saw?
You go! brother!
Glad we could share our experience in Xinjiang 😊
I love you guys and follow your adventures because you go to places where no men dare to go before you.

They said there was a genocide going on in Xinjiang, and they said there was no genocide in Gaza. After watching this vlog, what do you think?
Hypocrisy.
That these two aren't gonna be allowed close to anything bad. If you think there's nothing going on in the countryside you are very very wrong.

It never failed to amaze me how much the Westerners loved and cared for the Chinese Muslims.
I only hear Blinken, “Gaza? No no no, Xinjiang Genocide, Xinjiang Genocide.”
There were incidents of inter-ethnic violence in 2003-2004, resulted in some deaths (dozens to hundreds?). There are theories of who were the instigators, the Urigurs or the Hans; your guess is as good as mine. But remember, Han Chinese people were there since the Han and Tang dynasty, they have every bit of rights to be there. Would you rather live in an Islamic state like Afghanistan or a mixed province like Xinjiang ?
Have you been to Afghanistan? Or read about it in the western media again?
Thanks so much for taking us around this interesting city that we have heard more than seen!🎉❤🎉
Love from Canada 🇨🇦 thanks a lot for your video about china. I just subscribed your channel ❤

Great channel, you guys are wonderful.
Another awesome documentary guys! I've seen so many vlogs that just shows main attractions with perhaps a few serendipitous encounters. I've watched many Urumqi vlogs; yours does the best job by far of a proper wander around with nice narratives about your experience, pointing things out what you're seeing.
We’re SO happy to hear this, thank you so much! We’re glad we could share this amazing city 😊
Great, this is the best and most detailed video I've ever seen about Xinjiang.
The guy selling food was saying 牛肉, which means beef and sounds like 'noodles' in English
The plant you were asking the girl about is a Caterpillar fungus, which only lives within an altitude of 3000m to 5000m. In Chinese it's 虫草 as 'chongcao', which means worm grass
