It is haunting, even the background vocals are almost ghost-like, he even sneaks up on you with that shimmering introduction before the chord from the end of time comes reflecting back at us. Maybe this was created in another universe and his dad sent it to him. I doubt it but it feels possible. At least there was a nice catch so he could create this song afterwards.
Yeah, Beautiful Freak is on my list, saw him as A Man Called E when he opened for Tori Amos in her preview your in '98, her best opening act ever. She was sick from food poisoning in DC but was driven past the theater and decided to play anyway, he sounded beautiful even then. He is different and accepts it.
Should have listened to Friendly Ghost. "IF you are scared to die, you better not be scared to live." It kept me doing my charity work for the past few decades. Your soul is just a series of choices through time until you die, we are all 4 dimensional. Physics has even proven it which is why gravity is artiac6 and not fundamental as Einstein and others assumed, tome and gravity are mere consequences of the 4 vectors, there is no graviton, we ARE in the subspace. The infinity is what creates gravity for sunlight objects like us. Since everything at the beginning exists at the same moment anything slower, including Bender's butt, if he were real, would instantly move everything else which is why EPR is pure shit.
I Hope I Live Long Enough To Hear The Whole New Album, I've Loved The Other 2 Tracks E's Put Out From Time, I Discovered The Eels in 2001 When a Friend Brought The Beautiful Freak Album For Me To Listen To Wow, I Was Instantly Hooked ! So I Looked Into The Band, Got His Solo Albums A Man Called E & Broken Toy Shop From Charity Shops (Thrift Stores) Then Every Thing Since Such Raw Emotions And Sounds, I've Listened A Lot More To The Solo Albums As My Illness Has Gradually Gotten Much Worse And I Have Decided That Nowheresville Is The Song That Should Be Played As My Coffin is Hauled To The Crematorium, Such A Fitting Song ! I've Already Lived 3 Months Longer Than Was Expected So Here's Me, Sitting Waiting Wishing As Jack Johnson Would Say.... 🙏....
Wow I haven't listened to A Man Called E in years. There is something so pure and almost innocent in his lyrics and melodies back then. Sending you positive vibes and hope that whatever is going on that you are not in pain and will land in a beautiful parallel universe where you are in the Eels " ...And walk down Penny Lane Half a pint in Ireland May wash away my pain" (or whatever brings a smile to your heart).
Hang in there, hope you are well. Was was hardly expected to make a year on this planet, by docs who had no idea what was wrong with me so have always held firm that i and everyone else where always on borrowed time, and nothing like new music coming out as a reward for our hideous efforts to scratch and claw and cling to life, for the arts and music raise that being alive up to truly living feeling
Souljacker, Bonus Version, is still a very risky album, it is not for everybody despite pop songs being included, "I Write the B-Sides" or "What Note Is This?" are not for a lot of people.
@@toriless WTF are you talking about? If not for everyone you mean mainstream, then , yes. But this is on an EELS thread...so no, you are wrong. Who ,as an EELS fan , would not like those songs?
This album sounds much pop oriented from what we've got till now Not bad but it seems like it drinks a lot from the modern trend of songs being more about "the vibes" This is an interesting somg probably the best one yet
I really dont care to wait for the whole album before I start just randomly playing this and Goldy when I have my guitar out or am busking.I got a wicked solo canoodled here already with an accompanying bass line. Don't even got all the choruses down yet, don't care...I'll just hum it out until I figure it out I guess. Yep.
You are faced the wrong way on the elevator even if you think you will go nowhere they are waiting on the other end you left, hey no point in dying without love and no death of any value with it too. No sure all those who you have lost will make it but you deserve to pass into the illusion that is love. Yes, I doubt I will make it too, but then my Goldy like snuggler call does his magic.
Right after my birthday! It might be late, but its still the best present I could ask for!! I hope all who read this are smiling on the inside while listening to this. If you're not, know you are loved by me at least!
I see a lot of EELs superfans in the comments but I have to say in all honesty that I really miss the ultra-catchy songs from the first three albums, songs like Novocaine For The Soul , Last Stop This Town, Mr. E's Beautiful Blues, et. I have listened to all of the EELS albums as they have been released but maybe I missed something. If anyone can recommend any catchy songs I might have missed from the later albums or singles/B-sides that I might not have heard I would appreciate it. BTW, I own all of E´s early solo stuff so you don´t need to recommend any of that since I know those albums pretty well.
As you said, super fans, you probably need to be a diehard fanboy to enjoy other stuff, I consider myself that, love every single album they put out. Some more than others, it’s not about recommending songs, but more so listen at your own pace and see what you like, go back through their entire discography.
@@toriless When Extreme Witchcraft first released, I wasn’t crazy about it. After several listens it grew on me, and is actually an enjoyable album imo! Pretty different what they normally do.
I've been slightly underwhelmed by the first two tracks released from the new album. They're not bad, just... Well, underwhelming. THIS though? This is what I'm talking about.
If I'm gonna go anywhere it's definitely to buy the new album.
Very nice
Best album he has done in a decade, ...
@@torilessRELAX YOU'RE TORID less. Less Tori than you wish you had.
Goosebumps. This is an instant classic.

A tribe of 1
A constant in my life from 96. Whatever mood he's got it. And this is class, long live E ❤

Have you heard it all now?
Eels always deliver. You ever get a chance to see em LIVE....you take that chance! Atlanta loves you E
You guys haven’t lost the edge, this is insanely beautiful
E is a genius. Thank you sir!
I love this song. Reminds me of me alot
Mark Everett is Based
I love Eels
I like the way this is going.
I will be heading out to the local record store this week....eels rock!!!
Finally out but Amazon has been doing preview songs I have been listening to.
As someone who is afraid of love, this song breaks my heart open. Thank you, E

Every track so far has been amazing this album is a must have
Sounds good to me!
Awesome glad to see this on my feed today
Thank you for the healing sounds and words Mr E 🖤
Healing can involve pain and many of the new songs make me cry, even the happier ones.
IF I'm gunna go anywhere, it's definitely home.
Love it
I just heard this on Paul shigrew radio show and I LOVE it😅😊 His voice reminds me of Peter Gabriel 😍
I find it more husky and painful. It's more Joe Cocker than Peter Gabriel.
sounds like UNKLE "Find an Outsider" and it's a compliment. good to know mr E is still in a good shape
It was a close "good catch".

Decent One
Love y’all. Thanks for putting your art out there so people like me can enjoy it.
I like that one a lot, sounds like the best eels song in a long while to me!
Agreed
It is a Fresh Feeling from him, but more haunting than others.
New Eels lets go
This sounds different from what the past few albums have been like: looking forward to this one!
It sounds thought out and thought through. Time! has really gone into this album.
I think this will be E's magnum opus
As the world turns to shit, it's not so bad, when there's new Eels music. I love you guys 👍
Please come back to Australia.
They apparently toured in 2023 but I missed it.

Good catch here too mister! My sternum was just cut open as well and I’ve got perspective! It was strange being “dead”! Whew!
Time, all we have is time now. I heard that from someone. Hmm, I wonder who.

Is the album in the mood of “Tomorrow morning “? I have the same feeling listening to this song. More electro-ish with samples.
There could be a new Eels tune out every day and it still wouldn't be enough Eels for me.

Sounds a bit like Arcade Fire but then again they were probably inspired by Eels in the first place.
Can't wait for this album
