- This is special DIY Farmhouse Decor Trash to Treasure episode that features my Mom...the GURU of thrift store flips! If you're wondering where I got my creativity, well it was definitely from her! She can makeover anything! Using thrift store and dollar tree items, she will show you how to turn your trash into BEAUTIFUL treasure! So come along for ideas, tips, and tricks! Are you ready? I really enjoyed seeing your mom. It brought back so many memories of the times my mother and I trifled, painted and up cycled together. When your mom pulled out that little red bird bell, I couldn’t help but smile because my mother loved cardinals and I feel certain that was a little wink from her❤️❤️❤️ Cherish the time you have with your mother because it is precious.

Mama, your so awesome!! You have been therapy for me, I care for my mom 24/7 she has dementia, she used to be very creative just like you, she crochet, knitted, quilted and loved to go to yard sales and flea markets, we were just like you two, she can't remember doing any of that, so I love watching you both at end of my day. Trash to Treasure is definitely fun and rewarding! I am probably around your moms age and have been doing this all my life too. It irks me to death to see someone recover a chair/ottoman/stool and not tackle those corners like your mom does. I’m one that does take the time to get it right too! my dad was a professional upholsterer, he always did the four corners first. pull the fabric right at the point and staple, then each side of the point and staple. then he did the sides. Perfect everytime

Just a tip: If I'm going to take apart the entire piece, I paint the legs before I take the piece apart. That way I don't worry about the mess. One of the best upholstery tutorials ever!!!

What are you going to do with that?" But, in my mind I have GRAND plans for each and everything! LOL So, you love birds, too? Yea, my Mom puts a bird with everything...it really is true!! Wow, your mom did a great job at presenting all her trash to treasures. Loved all her great ideas. Wish my Goodwill gave great prices like yours did. Also that staple gun works much better than mine. I must have at least 4 n 2 electric n none of them work that great they never get the staple all the way down.

She said that the Goodwills are cheaper than the Salvation Army's, but most things she got were $1.99! That's incredibly cheaper!!! WOW! The staple gun she has is made by Black and Decker and it's called the PowerShot. And, yes...the meatloaf was FABULOUS!!! That was so nice of her to make that for me!!
