There is a lot wrong with mycareer. They program the A.I. on your team and A.I. of the opponent to frustrate you. 90% of the time you can't get the ball until the defender has time to get right in front of you. If you pass the ball, the people on your team will take the time to animate into the most contestable version of a way to score. Meanwhile the computer's A.I. utilizes the most direct way. When the algorithm deems it necessary your team's contests don't matter and your teammates don't rotate or notice the play developing when they could easily contest the bucket. You don't earn enough VC. And there are no features that would make the mode enticing to play until retirement. Like...creating a rookie that your team could draft in your second season and having the option to select simulated drills that he could do to level up... in addition to how he plays in-game. Developing a splash brother scenario. The trade system is purposefully obtuse because they want to push people towards Myteam to experience loaded rosters. There's no way to fight the regression on players you actually like. So in some nightmare scenario...where you actually play multiple seasons the players you like will be ass or traded without your permission. I could go on.
Mycareer went to crap once they forced you to play in the park to get attribute upgrades
I tried it the other day and couldn’t even figure out how to play a game of basketball- I was in that lame ass city like wtf is this and went back to MyTeam…I been gaming for 20+ years…

When they introduced “the playground” in 2k18 is when they started going super heavy with the micro transactions and not focusing on gameplay. I want to play basketball not a city walking simulator with basketball in it. After 2k17 this game went downhill. I remember in either 2k22 or 23 I couldn’t even play my next game because I had to grind and do tricks on a skateboard for an endorsement and it wouldn’t let me start my next game till I finished it. It’s ridiculous
My league is highly underrated. You can make a demi god in go crazy turn up cpu and user sliders the games against ai is crazy.

most you can make is 1100 VC per game and it cost damn near 100K just to go up to decent overrall

Yeah its sad, how much they want to update player, compared to how much u can earn. The only way its bareable is you max out what your build does best, ie if u a 3pt shooter max 3 out first, AND as ur stats get higher the cost goes up for all the stats. SMH.

What he doesn’t tell you is that if you do some of the quest they will give you about 30k vc
I remember a guy saying once they introduced VC, it was a slippery slope and he was right. It was either 2k13 or 2k14. I forget.
That’s what im saying every year 2k starts us off as a 60 its so annoying I wish we could start off at least a 75 it takes me at least two full seasons to finish my bulid It’s ridiculous.

I just play nba eras on pro for 5 min quarters u til I rack up hella VC. 1k VC per 2 games played. I can’t sit for a full quarters game. I’ll never play the game if I do that lol. I’ll play about 10-12 games a day. I tried side quests but they draining for no reason so I stopped and barely got anywhere with that.

You used the worst possible strategy of getting VC. You should play 5 minute quarters on a comfortable difficulty. Or you could play on the sunset court to get VC. The best way to get Vc is to finish games as fast as possible.
It’s still a terrible grind man it’s not enjoyable either way why can’t I play a 12 min quarter game on hall of fame and only max get 2k bc that’s fucking crazy
Not everyone wants to play those short quarters it should be a better experience playing 12 min quarters
I enjoy sunset and the AI parks in the city I played a lot the last two days made 18000 vc not too bad

I tried it the other day got put in that city and couldn’t start a game of basketball…I turned it off after 10 minutes…I’ll not try that again

I have a 64 overall and I only play myleague I have 100k just straight myleague games I was curious to see if I could upgrade my player I can’t even go up to an 80 and I have 100k vc shits ridiculous
Not to mention everybody has a different no money spent experience. Different builds, team schedule, and may not have as much time to put into the game. Some people pretend to not see this as an issue just to disagree.
lol how are y’all struggling when it comes to grinding your player? I haven’t bought VC in a long time. I play on superstar, 12 min quarters and I get my player to an 80 OVR or better by all star weekend. By the end of the season, I’m maybe an 85 - I usually simulate the last 20 or so games, so I don’t know exactly what OVR I would end the season at if I played. I save my VC until the end of each month and then splurge on my player. The contracts you are able to negotiate for events are also helpful.

Have y’all never done this before? I have never bought vc for any 2k. I’ve always done the grind with first player, at pro btw, and you get endorsements etc and when u a starter you get about 1200 vc per game. You don’t dump all vc in one stat u spread it out. This is much more managable. I will try ‘24 my career and make sure I’m not telling this wrong but…. 6:20 if it’s the same as all other 2k, I dunno what to tell u go buy vc like a punk I guess

2k24 my career is so bad bro. I played 2k23 for so long bro and I’m still only at a 85 and it’s worse for 2k24 bro

2k23 played current gen and the grind was way better. Had like 5 builds 90+ no money spent. 2k24 on next gen is atroucious, when you get to 75 ovr almost every progression point is 1000+ vc. Hell 145K VC to get hof speed booster, shit is surreal

The way they keep taking away ways of earning vc. Like the rivals missions that used to get you a bunch of vc: gone. The endorsements this year only get you a total of like 7k vc. And it’s broken aswell so you can’t get more no matter what. The shooting drill and 5v5/3v3 gets you 1500 a week. Also it might be just me but the daily park rival thing gets me zero vc even if I beat the guy. Like it says quest complete but gives me nothing. The fact you earn 150vc from a park game is disgusting when attribute upgrades cost as much as they do. They used to all cost 100vc for the first upgrade and would go up incrementally from there. But now they can start at like 1000. It costs more than 200,000 vc to max a player and they won’t even give me my 750vc. Dirty business men who don’t know shit about ball and just want to milk the engine for as much as it will give. And because there is no competition they get away with it.
And so many were focusing on the “proper method” to play it they missed the point of it being a hassle for those who want an enjoyable experience with no cheese/ exploit required .
Also the wheel spin is straight up donkey doo. The sheer amount of watches and watch duplicates and “hawks logo green release” is sickening. You used to be able to get cool shit link shoes or hardwood jerseys or believe it or not VC!

Na bro you need to play 4 min qtr on rookie and your gonna get more in that same time period and then you go to the park once a day to do the guest challenge on sunset. You could easily average like 3k an hour without endorsements

They give u challenges that give 3000 vc also daily 750 on park go to play with ramdoms at city or am play good its live a range of 700 to 1000 per game u might be ass i dont know but its super easy to get free vc to upgrades
i dropped a quintuple double 33 14 14 10 and 10 on HOF 5 minute quarters real mycareer i got proof if u need no cap ts easy u jus gotta be good

I understand what tour saying but if you have friends and oplay online its wayyy faster and easier to get vc in all reality if you gather 2 friends and play pro am only gor a week your gonna be a 95 even if your losing every single game its all about what your doing in game to get vc if you dont know the right methods and try to play mycareer then you will make nothing
