So, Kirby now has a lot more Copy Abilities that come from his core franchise, while still having the ability to get Copy Abilities from Smash fighters. I think that works really well.
Yea I wouldn't even mind if there was a "Smash 64 Redux" where it's only the base 64 roster, but they all have updated movesets, completely different to how they've always been in Smash. Maybe even bring back custom moves since it's less characters to work with.
The only possible miss imo is having hammer as side b is really cool, it’s fun to try and jump off stage and hit people with it but besides that this is the greatest kirby move set ever
+ better Dair + better side B + better downB on the ground + prob better down smash +way better upsmash (both sides) + better up B + new command input +/- F tilt seems better by a margin. - the bair is current kirby's best move so the new one better have a frame data to replace it without problem allow kirby to spit all projectiles into stars so he has anti zoning tools.
If it was up to me, I'd give kirby two down tilts. His standard kick is when the button is lightly tapped and the slide kick is when the button is fully pressed with more damage and can edge guard.
I liked custom moves in Smash 4 and it would be awesome to expand it to A attacks as well and have online community support to create and download new custom programmed community attacks. Sakurai approved, of course 😆
There's a couple of things that are a little weird to me. Kirby is a character designed to be intuitive and because of that the direction you move the control stick is the direction of his attack and the direction is opponent is send at when attacked, but in this mod the side special pull your opponent in and the grounded down special moves you forward, and the command input uses up and down and yet it has the range of a neutral attack. I think I find it weird cause it goes against the design of not only Kirby in Smash but the Kirby series as a whole and most of the Smash series, which makes sense since this mod adds complexity to an otherwise pretty simple game.
I read in twitter that side special was made like that to counter camping Kirby so they get closer. They also said it doesn't combo until like 90% As for the slide down special, was it not always in the Kirby games that you can slide kick forward by pressing down + attack?
Veeeeeery cool! Do you believe that, for smash 6, they're going to rework the great majority of the older characters? This is my theory. Kirby for example can be so much flashier (and viable competitively) than he is with his current movepool.
I doubt it tbh. They seem to shy away from completely reworking characters and tend to keep them roughly the same outside of a few minor tweaks/move changes. I've heard somewhere that the reason for this is because Sakurai doesn't want to alienate fans who liked a character for the way they are now (though I'm not sure how true this is).
Not a huge fan of this moveset philosophy, this feels designed like with *way* too much prep-time Kirby's default power is to *copy* opponents, not having an endless array of powers by default. It feels weird having him spawn this many abilities for one attack each, considering all of those have a whole moveset. He's barely using his limbs to attack if he just pulls out random weapons, he isn't meant to be this versatile by default, he's meant to be a weak little blob using his foe's hubris to attack them
Thats.. that's how Kirby works in smash. It makes since to pull from various powers to make one new moveset for a fighting game. Kirby never stuck to one power in smash anyway.
@@djdrizzy9139 Yeah, but he only pulls out full weapons for his *Special moves*, he sticks to using his more basic techniques from Fighter or Suplex because that's reasonably something Kirby could do in his default design) Not to the degree of here where he pulls out *The Ultra Sword* for the Back Air lol
@@kirbyofthestarsfan Most of Kirby's A attacks are generic kicks that hardly resemble the fighter ability at all. Kirby can do any ability and should be able to even if it's not a special move. I see no problem here.
I'm divided On one hand I love seeing kirby's copy abilities get the spotlight and enhance his kit On the other, Sakurai made Kirby the way he did on purpose, he's meant to be simple without a copy ability and easy to pick up and learn, (not to mention the fact that Sakurai made the character of Kirby so changing it feels a bit weird to me) I enjoy the moves don't get me wrong and he seems so cool but it strays decently far from the original. (Also why do people give him slide down b when it could literally just be a tilt)
all i want to know is did you guys fix the buffer input system? it made the base game feel sluggish to me and made me have a almost distain for ultimate

And the hottest!

really sick rework, stays pretty simple still to fit kirby's smash essence. nice job man.
I love how some of the moves are just some of his best moves in smash but given a new look

I wouldn't mind this being how Kirby plays in the next game. Although I'd make the Slide his Down Tilt instead.
How Kirby should be. I hope that in the next games the characters have a redesign in the movements.

I love how so many more moves actually reference Kirby's moves in his series, replacing several boring generic attacks
With how well they improved Kirby, I can’t wait to see other characters like Simon
Kirby really should use more of his Copy Abilities in his Smash moveset rather than just kicking.
FACTS!
That might go against his design
Incineroar should get this treatment, having command inputs
The only possible miss imo is having hammer as side b is really cool, it’s fun to try and jump off stage and hit people with it but besides that this is the greatest kirby move set ever
Nice additions. He's still pretty simple all things considered and he keeps enough old stuff to like the multi-kick and his throws.
Many of the original Smash 64 characters deserve updated movesets like this, this is awesome!
+ better Dair
+ better side B
+ better downB on the ground
+ prob better down smash
+way better upsmash (both sides)
+ better up B
+ new command input
+/- F tilt seems better by a margin.

1:12 the one that basically everyone wanted lets gooo
Robin should be changed too, especially the Final Smash
Crispo doing gods work! Absolute legend
You did it, you madlad, you made Kirby actually good and competitively viable.
What the hell, these moves are clean
Down special being slide is fine by me mainly just cuz base game down tilt is so unimaginably good
Kirby is a menace!
nice one !!! kirby is now veeeeeeeeeeery coooooooooooooooooooool :D
can we get a Daisy overview next since she was decloned in 3.0? I'd love to see all the changes

I really like this! This is how he should have been, starting with Melee.

Yes, this is why I want a reboot instead of "Ultimate deluxe". The next smash should focus on NEW content, such as new moves for veterans.
0:13 did you mean down air?
I hope he's like this in ssbu2

why the command input lol
HOW CAN I HAVE IT, It's very cool
Kriby
Hammer flip is such a waste of a special move honestly same with cutter. cutter should be his side b and up B should have been high jump
