Rim joists, also known as band joists and sill plates, are often overlooked and under-insulated areas in a house. These spaces are notorious for air leakage and pest infiltration, so it's essential to seal all cracks and create a vapor barrier before insulating the area.

I’ve been working on this the past two days. I would strongly recommend getting a box of disposable gloves so you can change them frequently, this stuff is messy, especially if you aren’t doing an extra large/open rim joist like they do in video

Hey guys, schoolboy question from me.
Doesn’t something like this raise concern?
Say you have below you have a timber floor, and between the sub floor and downstairs ceiling plasterboard, between the cavity you already have rock wool insulation, and now you are sealing the gaps around the joist-to-plasterboard…
Shouldn’t you leave some gaps for airflow?
